I know there are lots of threads about syncing yahoo email to the Droid and I got that to work, but my question is syncing everything else (contacts, calendar etc.) Is there a way to do it? I have had my yahoo email address for years and don't really feel like giving in and switching to a gmail account.

I know that probably asking this question for a Google product would get me setup for a firing squad appointment, but is there any way or any app that would sync my Yahoo contacts to my Droid? I use both accounts and want a way to sync it up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.

I've already done a lot of research on this topic as it is currently the most important item I've got to have working in order to keep the Droid. It seems like nobody really has a great solution yet, but there are some in the works. This thread can serve as a master list for Outlook sync software.

I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?
So, I have been playing around with contacts and google calendar syncing on my Droid, and I love it. I also know that it uses a very small amount of battery.
Looking at Spare Parts and the battery information, google uses MAYBE a minute a day for syncing, which is absolutely nothing.
Anyways, anyone know how often it syncs? Seems to be every 12-24 hours.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I have all my contacts in my googlemail account. When I go to settings/Accounts & Sync on my Desire, and sync, it seems to sync from the Desire to my googlemail page on my PC, but not the other way round - which is a problem for me because all the correct contacts are on my PC. It also tends to duplicate or even triplicate most of contacts. On the PC there is the merge setting, but not on the Desire. I've tried deleting all my contacts on the Desire, but syncing doesn't repopulate it.
I have all my appointments on my Desire calendar, which seems to only sync from my PC to the Desire. As I enter my appointments on the Desire, and would like to have them on my PC, this, too, is a problem.
I added the Sports Calendar to my google account and it shows up on my online Google calendar but not on my Motorola Droid. I did the same with the US Holidays calendar and it instantly worked both online and my Droid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that an Outlook contact that has a birthday or anniversary date stored within the details, when sync'd to the phone is imported with 1 or 2 days earlier? For example my parents anniversary is stored in Outlook as June 4, 19xx and Outlook adds this to my calendar automatically. After syncing with my Droid Eris the Eris calendar item shows June 3rd. Then when I sync again it shows up in the Outlook calendar on the 3rd and the 4th. This has been going on for quite a while maybe since my 1st sync.

Ideally I'd have reminders on the day of the Birthday.

Anyway, when I mounted my Droid to the desktop, I figured it would sync on its own with the new information I entered on the desktop calendar but nothing changed on the phone. The only change I noticed was that US Holidays popped up but several events I created did not show up on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I thought the Droid syncs with no problem with the google calendar?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to the andriod thing and just recently obtained the Moto Droid. I am desperately trying to figure out a way to sync my outlook (non exchange - yahoo) account with it.
I have searched the threads an unable to find any answers thus far. I have already looked into Compainion, gschink (sp) which continuely lost #'s, contact names and company names (thank god I had other back-ups), and MyLink. I understand that if you have an Google account this works some what in a way and I have also used a few online exchanges but they all just don't "SYNC" all information. I am coming from a BB and I understand that the Droid is not a BB but I really like so many of the other features that if I could just get this machine to sync in a business manner I would keep it! I am coming close to my 30 days and have to either get this to sync or put it in the box and return.

When I enter something in my outlook calendar or contacts it will sync with my phone (fascinate).
When I enter a calendar or contact on the phone it does not go to the computer.
Under setting and accounts and sync the exhange account is set and "sync is on"
Just got my new HTC Desire today and I'm loving it to death!
Just having some issues with syncing my outlook contacts and calendar appointments.
I googled it and followed these instructions: HTC Desire - Using HTC Sync
I used the HTC Sync installer that�s in the supplied microSD card to install but that didn't work so I have downloaded latest HTC Sync But when I get to the next step, "Setting up HTC Sync to recognize your phone" the instructions are:
First of all, step 1. seems pretty pointless coz you go to that part of the phone and don't make any changes. When I get to step 2 I can do what the instructions says but the phone doesn't attempt to find the HTC sync on my computer, it does nothing. I don't get a message saying its unable to find the computer, i can change the setting to HTC Sync and click done and thats all that happens.
Would love some help with this one, I've tried googling but can't find a difinitive answer to this issue.

I have a question about HTC Sync. Am I correct in saying that you can't sync google contacts with HTC sync? That you can only sync the ones labeled as Phone? I have a rogers htc android phone and I have been testing the sync functionality of HTC Sync. From what I can tell, HTC sync will only sync contacts created as phone contacts with outlook/windows address book. And will not sync the google contacts to outlook. Is this because the google contacts are saved on the gmail servers and are already synced anyway? Does anybody know of a way to sync google contacts through HTC Sync? Or am I right in assuming that it cannot be done?

Now I'm thinking about rooting it and upgrading it to Android 2.2 or 2.3. All the stuff is stored in the phone's memory. I'd like to synchronize my contacts and calendar events to Google - tried few tricks but still without any result.
It looks like it's not possible to sync contacts which weren't stored as Google Contacts. I need to do the same with my calendar events.
I would really like to keep my data stored in the phone's memory as well as on Google. So I'm looking for sync option. If this is not possible then I'll need to get used to store everything just on Google but first I need to import my data there as well.
