even though I dont use this myself as we have the app on the Hero I decided to follow HTC (although I dont check all the time as its mostly U.S stuff) anyway I just took a look and it says that there is a software update on 3 and that was posted 36 mins ago.Gonna check the 3 site now and see what its about.

When I initally got my HTC Hero, I created a google account using my gmail address.In the meantime I have changed my gmail address and now I don't know how to change it on the phone.Therefor it keeps asking me to log-on, but to the wrong e-mail address.Please, help me to change my Google account so I can refer to my new gmail address and hence start receiving e-mails on my phone again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently got my xperia x10 and had to almost immediately upgrade to the 2.1 system. I am noticing a few things that I'm not fussy about from the 1.6 system but the thing that is bugging me the most is that I cannot (figure out how to) link contacts in my phonebook to their facebook and twitter accounts. In 1.6, when you edited a contact it gave you the option to click LINK. I cannot find any of this on the new system. As well, for contacts that I had linked before, their facebook profile pic (current from the time when i linked them before upgrading to 2.1) shows up on their contact information (i usually only link facebook, as i dont use twitter as much) and their profile is linked. However when i go into EDIT, it says FACEBOOK, Timescape and a big exclamation mark that has a message beside it saying : Timescape Plug-In Manager contact information is not editable on this device. i SHOULD be able to edit and link all my contacts. that was the whole purpose of the xperia having this timescape program.

I just got an update 2 days ago. Now when I go to phone list and touch the contact, it only shows phone and message. The info or edit information icon is gone. I can't figure out how to get to that information to edit the information or view it. Does anyone have any idea?

(pictures, status.)My "last" updated was a date AFTER I removed the .apk, but since then it was stuck basically on the 24th of Oct.Pictures I know are different on facebook dont come to my phone.I tried deleting and re-adding the account, and that fixed it, but thats not a long term solution.Does it need that APK or not? If not - how do i get it to sync more often?

A few times now I've noticed that it fails to update from twitter - it simply doesn't get any new stuff. If I go in to peep that also doesn't update. if I start the twitter app they are all there.
Anyone else noticed this / found a solution ?
Last time it was out of a couple of days and then just started working again.
After the froyo update, I now have twitter on my phone...I really want this removed off of my phone, but can't delete it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have put this on a few threads but it obviously only get read by a few people hopefully this will help backup your contacts in the phonebook, when in the phonebook press the menu key, then more you have the option to backup contacts select that and back them up to your SD Card, you can install them back from here after the update .SE Backup and Restore does seem to lose your contact list after update, it also appears to lose the apps.I found out after a previous update that backup and restore lost my contacts so this time I used the phonebook backup.It stores it as one VCF file, you just import it after update and it puts all contacts back as they were before.I only say it appears to lose the apps as I used it for this backup and there were no apps there but I had them on my SD Card anyway.Use the phonebook backup don't rely on Backup and Restore

Since the update, Twitter is now using the same sound as my SMS notifications - the phone default notification. I keep trying to set Twitter to use a different sound (within the application - Settings > Account > choose notification sound).

Ok from Velocity 0.2 with Clockworkmod and V9 SW version I flashed the stock V6 Rom, then flashed stock recovery. got ota updates to V8 and then ZVB without any errors. SW Version on phone read VS740ZVB. I then rerouted, applied Clockworkmod recovery and installed Velocity 0.2 and then the GNMTurbo4 kernel. SW Version on phone reads VS740ZVB. Then another OTA update showed up. It claimed to be 24.9MB just like the ZVB update. Of course it would not install because I was using custom recovery.
My question is, what is this update? Is it the ZVB update coming through again? Did my ZVB update not apply correctly or is it not recognized by Verizon since I'm using custom recovery and rom? Is there a new update that I'm missing out on, and if so, what is it, and do I need to apply it?
Lots of questions, I know.Just wondering what exactly is going on and do I need to do anything about it? Is there any way to pull info on this update from the downloaded file, and if so, where can I find the file and how do I get info from it?
Quick question: Where in the .pkg update package is the information on the build and the version of the update? I sort of screwed up my tablet, I can boot into stock recovery but not much more. ADB won't work, and AFAIK nobody knows how to enter fastboot mode on this thing. Hence, I figured that the only way to reinstall the ROM is to trick recovery into installing an update package that's already installed.
The tablet is Fujitsu STYLISTIC M532.

Apart from the Twitter app Peep -
While i'm at home my Hero connects to my wi-fi, and when i'm out and about it connects to my mobile network, which works just great, except Peep doesn't refresh unless i'm connected to wi-fi - as soon as I leave the house and try and look at the latest tweets from friends it just fails to refresh, even manually. It displays the message 'unknown response from server'. However, I can post Tweets myself, it just doesn't show up on Peep. And all other internet reliant apps work just fine, eg weather, bookmarks, Android Market etc
I have tried messing with Peep settings, changing the refresh rates etc, but nothing. Then when I come back home, the Hero swaps over to wi-fi and Peep refreshes as normal. Very confusing, not to mention annoying
Two things I haven't tried yet - Factory reset of my phone/adding an old Twitter app from Android Market...
Just wondering if i will ever get to say 'mmmmm donut' on my Hero. Ive had a trawl of the net and cant find out any info on Donut and Hero thats not really vague.

I know you can set the apps to update every 1 hour or so but I just wondered if someone tweets, you would think it would show up whether or not it was the update time.
I don't really use Twitter much, and i want to stop it from updating, but everytime I switch off the box, it comes back on. Any thoughts? Also, after the update, peep and stocks are always running, in the task manager, even when I kill them, and don't restart them.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn my gmail account i have "my contacts" that are synced to the phone, and in there i have most of the contacts with all sorts of info like, address, birthday, anniversary, website, and all that jazz. when i sync it to my phone, i only get basic info like address, number and email. the birthday, anniversary and website don't syn. why is that and how can i fix that? i would hate to go through my phone and edit all that info manually in the phone. also, i read somewhere that you can choose what contacts from gmail are synced. if you go into people, then groups, hit menu, and then sync group you can choose what is synced (all contacts, my contacts, and whatever groups you have). i had that option before, and now it is gone.

Having been away from my pc for a month whilst on holiday, I've not had chance to keep close tabs on Android issues, (and being on holiday I wasnt going to make special provisions anyway!) but here is the problem - Whilst I was away, I received two notifications on my HTC Hero (TMobile G2 Touch) that there was a new version of something or other, both of which which I downloaded, and both of which made my touchscreen very unresponsive at times. Presuming that this was the holy grail Android firmware update, I took it into my local TMobile store on getting back home to ask them if it was possible to remove the 'improvement'.The guy in there pointed out that there was a new Android firmware update available which when installed might resolve the issues, so he pressed a few buttons and started a download on my phone, told me to leave it running as it would take about half an hour, then restart the phone. However - the download wouldnt take effect as it needed 25mb free space to install and there was only 23mb available.After going home and wiping a few apps to leave the necessary space, I cant find this download anywhere.Has anyone got any idea where it might be?
