View 2 RepliesFor some reason my Hero won't perform any System Updates. When I click on any of the top 3 update options (Firmware, Profile, or PRL) the option turns green while my finger is on it but doesn't respond. This happened in the weeks before the 2.1 update also, but I just stuck it out, and after the 2.1 update it worked again - until recently. Now no updates can be requested. No root. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just discovered this feature called "Integrate system app updates into ROM" in the TitaniumBackup application and i am starting to use it in order to free some space of the internal memory of the phone. Everything's ok for now.
I was just wondering ... if, after doing such process, i can still do OTA updates (i have a sony xperia mini pro sj17i device)?
I have an unrooted Evo and I'm really low on internal space and don't want to root...if I could delete the system update files like "com.htc 2.1-update 1" and "Android System 2.1-update1", that would help to free up about 23mb of space...can I uninstall them or would that revert the system to the pre-updated state?

View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I woke up, tried to pull down my email and look up a couple things on the web and my phone keeps telling me I have no connection. The sync icon (arrows chasing each other in a circle) is stuck at the top of the screen and my battery is disappearing rapidly. I've done a couple battery pulls and reboots with no change. What I'd NORMALLY do is update the data profile under menu/settings/about phone/system updates... But something I didn't know about CM6 is that this option is not there. (unless it's hidden somewhere else, then please point me in the right direction)."No problem", I think There are other ways to skin this cat. I type in ##3282#, which should allow me into a menu that allows me to refresh the data service... The phone doesn't respond at all "Odd", I think. So I try ##786#, which should open the reset menu... The phone didn't respond to that, either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of my contacts linked to their facebook page, but their contact photo never changes even though I know their facebook profile photo has.
Is there a way to update my contact list to show what their current facebook profile picture is?
When you go into the System updates, what does the "update Profile" actual update? Never new what that updated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs this the update the froyo? Because I just updated to 2.1 couple weeks ago what is this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedJust went to HTC Software Update and found this available. Anyone know what's in it? Hit Menu, then Settings, then About Phone, then System Updates, then HTC Software Update, and finally hit Check Now.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or is there a system update every day? What are they doing to my phone?
View 12 Replies View RelatedSince the OTA announcement, how many time a day are you hitting the "Systems Update"? And before the Accuracy Nazis, start flaming, it's just a fun little poll.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am an Android app developer, and I have purchased a Nexus One device which I use to continuously test my developed Android applications.
Background: ----------------- One of the applications I developed uses a native shared library (e.g. myNativeLib.so). Only my application loads & uses this native library. I had developed this app before Android NDK came out. I pack my native library into my apk's 'assets' folder, and during my application start- up, I extract this native library from my package's assets folder to my app private directory (i.e. <assets> -> /data/data/<myappprocess>/ myNativeLib.so). Then I use System.load() API in my application to dynamically load this native library.
Problem: ------------ This application was developed during Android 1.5 (i.e. cupcake) days {I didn't have the Nexus One then}. The above procedure has been working without any problems right from Android 1.5 to Android 2.2 (i.e. Froyo). I have also tested the same on my Nexus One for Android 2.1 (i.e. Eclair) and Android 2.2.
The problem began the moment I recently upgraded my Nexus One to Android 2.2.1 via the FRG83 system update. Now, whenever I try to load my native library, I get the following error:
D/dalvikvm( 3653): Trying to load lib /data/data/<myappprocess>/ <mynativelib>.so <some address> I/dalvikvm( 3653): Unable to dlopen(/data/data/<myappprocess>/ <mynativelib>.so): Cannot load library: link_image[1995]: failed to link <mynativelib>.so
What I have Tried: -------------------------- 1. I tried my application using Android 2.2 SDK (emulator)...it works, no issues. 2. I checked out the latest froyo & android2.2.1 source code from Android open-source, built & tested my application + native lib using the latest froyo source...it built & ran, no issues. This should've taken care of any changes in the native code dependencies between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 3. I even checked Android 2.2.1 source code for dalvik (java System & Runtime classes) + bionic (linker & dlopen sources) between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 (using source checked out from Android open-source), but couldn't find anything consequential 4. I am unable to return my Nexus One to Android 2.2.
So I was going to update to Froyo manually when I noticed that my 'check for system updates' is disabled in the about phone menu. I can only think of two reasons:
1. I'm rooted (doesn't seem likely)
2. I'm roaming but still on 3g (This would be annoying as I have to drive 20 miles to verizon towers)Any ideas? On a separate note maybe this is an advantage.I'm new to the Android platform and have heard of issues upgrading to 2.2. Maybe I should just wait until Moto puts out the patch?
does it matter if it is enabled or not. Does affect any system updates from verizon. right now i don't have it enabled.i only enable it when i use the app pdanet to tether my phone and computer.is it good to keep disable it
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy samsung s3 and rooted it to download custom roms, etc. Which is all new to me fyi. Anyway, haven't decided on a rom yet, so still got the stock one going. When i get a notice to download a system update, and try to do it, it reboots to twrp recovery that i installed. Not sure what to do at this point or should i just not worry about the updates. Also, my phone doesn't recognize a usb connection when i hook it to my computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus via ebay yesterday and it came with Android 4.0 ICS software. I went to "Settings >> About Phone" - No "System Updates" option available!!
how do I get this option or update my phone to the latest software Jelly Bean 4.2.2 without this option on the phone.
I've updated my profile and prl but after a reboot it will update them again. Does it delete the update after rebooting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnybody know what profile update does in system updates tag in settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched the files and nothing really has a resolution. I have a rooted EVO and the profile screen is just black. I have rebooted the system a couple of times and still no go.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Fresh 3.1.0.2, Netarchy 2.6.32.15, Radio version 1.39.00.05.31 and PRI 1.40_003.When I try to update my profile and prl i get error code 1012.When i flash Stock Odex 2.2 i am able to update no problem, hence the updated PRI version.Does anyone have the same issue, or know of a fix?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I soft rebooted a few weeks ago, I lost a bunch of settings (like wallpaper, default notification sound, skype). Also the HTC weather widget stopped updating on its own. I can manually update it but it stays at one location, not the one I am at. Used to work fine. Seems like "my location" doesn't update for it. I ahve tried to reboot, reload widget, reset my location settings - no change. My stock web browser also resets at some sites (this one especially). Never had this issue before.Tried to update my profile and the screen just goes black. Stays that way until I hit the back button.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have the latest i07 update, but when i go to update the prl/firmware/profile...i get an error that says try again later.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had shoddy internet lately in places that I should not. So I try to update my prl and profile and it just sits there saying "updating." When i cancel out, the phone moves super slow until I do a battery pull.I also can not enable 4g because it makes my EVO run super slow basically horrible. This is with 2.2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've been running without 3G (disabling it with the Quick Settings app) for the great battery savings. However, in the past few weeks, I've lost 3G altogether even when I re-enable it. I've tried updating the profile & PRL, no luck. Any ideas? Hoping to not have to do a full phone wipe.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know how to make my Droid update facebook profile pics in my contacts? They have never updated since my initial contacts setup?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to take it back yesterday it will not update my profile, I'm on sprint. rotation was lagging. and i had to install my gmail account to times before it didn't come up with an error. I don't know is this worth waiting it for 2.0. i don't know what they can do to fix the problem.
