Anybody know what profile update does in system updates tag in settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched the files and nothing really has a resolution. I have a rooted EVO and the profile screen is just black. I have rebooted the system a couple of times and still no go.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I soft rebooted a few weeks ago, I lost a bunch of settings (like wallpaper, default notification sound, skype). Also the HTC weather widget stopped updating on its own. I can manually update it but it stays at one location, not the one I am at. Used to work fine. Seems like "my location" doesn't update for it. I ahve tried to reboot, reload widget, reset my location settings - no change. My stock web browser also resets at some sites (this one especially). Never had this issue before.Tried to update my profile and the screen just goes black. Stays that way until I hit the back button.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had shoddy internet lately in places that I should not. So I try to update my prl and profile and it just sits there saying "updating." When i cancel out, the phone moves super slow until I do a battery pull.I also can not enable 4g because it makes my EVO run super slow basically horrible. This is with 2.2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've been running without 3G (disabling it with the Quick Settings app) for the great battery savings. However, in the past few weeks, I've lost 3G altogether even when I re-enable it. I've tried updating the profile & PRL, no luck. Any ideas? Hoping to not have to do a full phone wipe.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I woke up, tried to pull down my email and look up a couple things on the web and my phone keeps telling me I have no connection. The sync icon (arrows chasing each other in a circle) is stuck at the top of the screen and my battery is disappearing rapidly. I've done a couple battery pulls and reboots with no change. What I'd NORMALLY do is update the data profile under menu/settings/about phone/system updates... But something I didn't know about CM6 is that this option is not there. (unless it's hidden somewhere else, then please point me in the right direction)."No problem", I think There are other ways to skin this cat. I type in ##3282#, which should allow me into a menu that allows me to refresh the data service... The phone doesn't respond at all "Odd", I think. So I try ##786#, which should open the reset menu... The phone didn't respond to that, either.

lately what the november ota update came out I haven't been able to update. I accept the prompt and it says the update will be installed after the required reboot...after the counter counts down the phone doesn't reboot. I tried to clear the storage, I did a factory reset, then I even did the how to downgrade to factory 2.2 (http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/99828-video-howto-unroot-incredible-downgrading.html)...when I was prompted to update again the end result was the same....
I had to take it back yesterday it will not update my profile, I'm on sprint. rotation was lagging. and i had to install my gmail account to times before it didn't come up with an error. I don't know is this worth waiting it for 2.0. i don't know what they can do to fix the problem.

Is there a way to update my contact list to show what their current facebook profile picture is?
What is the best way to let my users perform an application update?
Is there any way to force device reboot after the update? I'm asking this because my application registers some behavior on boot.
Please note, the application would not be published in the Market.
Update:
My app will be preinstalled on a set of ~100 handsets. Should I periodically call a webservice that will inform the device about upgrade available, and then, redirect to an .apk file within a webkit view?
Sync my pix apk sucks. removed some bloat ware using titbck up. I backed all apps b4 removing. But titbck up won't let me restore them. They have a strike through line on them. I need the social networking.apk and motoblur contacts sync apk. Can somebody up loaf or let me know how to restore them. I'm thinking about sbf'or will a factory data reset be ok?
View 11 Replies View Relatedi bought my wife a Cliq exactly 14 days ago. Since then I received some type of update within the first few days. After that it went downhill. The phone would turn off randomly and reboot (I deleted her apps and installed only ones that were trust worthy.etc), put calls on speaker phone while on the phone or just hang up (maybe bad proximity sensor) and some of the camera functions were no working (the only way for her to snap a pic was by touch. The side button wouldn't work). The lady was surprised that it was acting up at the corp store as she said " we never get these back" but hey, they took it hassle free.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI dropped the Dual Clock widget on my home screen then deleted it from the home screen. When I go to Settings/Applications/Running Applications the updater for that widget is active. I have not found a way to permanently get rid of the Dual CLock update service upon reboot. I know how to manually stop it from running but don't want to have to do that every time my phone starts up. What a pain. Since it's not an app it cannot be deleted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI frequently (once a week), will manually check for firmware, PRL, etc. updates. Yesterday, I tried whatever "Update Profile" is and after that I lost all of my pictures and videos. Is that what did it? Or do I have another issue here? Or did it happen after I took a pic of my home screen with Shoot Me? Also, I'm pretty sure I just copied my videos file from my PC (30 AVI's) to my SD card and then phone read them. Now, it won't, any after some research it doesn't look like the EVO even supports AVI? I'm pretty sure I didn't' convert anything than one DVD. Otherwise this phone is suhweet. 32GB cards can't come fast enough.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen you go into the System updates, what does the "update Profile" actual update? Never new what that updated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was in an area with some not so great reception this evening and at one point my text messages wouldn't send.I decided to update my profile and prl just to see what it could do for me and the updates failed. Oddly enough, I could still access 3g data, just no text.I could make phone calls, just no outgoing texts (can't confirm incoming).Anyway, on my way home, I sent myself a text and it worked fine, but I still couldn't connect to update my prl or profile which I've never had a problem with before. I got home and did a quick search and found this thread: Samsung Moment. Can't update Firmware, Profile, or PRL.I'd follow up with a call to Sprint to see if this might hopefully be the case, but they aren't available right now. Anyone else having trouble updating their prl or profiles tonight?
View 2 Replies View RelatedApologies is this is covered in another thread, but I couldn't find it. I was able to successfully update to JH7 over the air, but now whenever I turn my phone off/on, as soon as the boot process is done I am greeted by a Device Management screen/notification that says the update was successful. If I hit 'OK' the screen goes away and the phone operates normally.
Will this screen go away after a certain number of reboots? It's kind of annoying that it's still there even though I've rebooted half a dozen times since the update.
Had my phone reboot today at 3:15 pm cst, and it being the first i was hoping that is was a gps update but it does not work any better. anyone else's captivate reboot today?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe version of the software that is most current is version 6 (the phone shipped with version 3).
To ascertain version: Go to Dialer/Hit Star/#9999#
You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.
I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
Onee the " official" fryo comes out will I have to flash to stock then update or can I just apply the update to my rooted phone?
