Ive just debrended my 3UK HTC Hero and installed the 2.1 update. I used to use the apps Tunee Music and Music Junk quite often but now I cant find them in the market. I can only find "MP3 Download" which I dont feel is as good as those two apps. Could anybody tell me if it is possible to install these again or have they been discontinued.

I've been using AppBrain to interface with the Android Market and I have been running into an issue where I try to install a couple of apps, it says it's starting download, but then nothing happens. I even turned on and off my 3G a few times, with no luck. This has happened once before. Is there something wrong or is this a case where the Android Market is a POS?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a ZTE V889S (aka ZTE Blade C, ZTE V807) with android 4.1.2. When I download any application/game off the Play Store, it will download up to 100%, yet not install. If I exit google play, wipe the process, and start it again, then it will install the application that it already downloaded. when applications update, I have to restart google play multiple times to update everything, which becomes a nuisance.
I had the problem even on the original android 4.1.2 rom (with the default/not updated play store app), and I currently have Lewa OS (A chinese custom rom), which still has the problem. There is enough space in every possible install location (I've tried setting it to the SD card and the internal storage). The alternative chinese app market has no problem installing applications right after downloading them.
Where are theu downloaded to? If you uninstall an app is it still on the phone in a folder somewhere on the phone?

Last one I updated was mytracks (says I updated google maps well its the last on the list)And instead of having there 20-30 apps I have there 5.Apps that are missing arent the ones that I moved to SD.And I cant attach them to market CUZ they are attached. Installed. When I search for them in the market. It says installed and I can even update. I just dotn see them in the download section..Now I thought it might be something cuz I changed markets via market access to be able to download payed apps. But which sim I try , the same few apps (all after clear cache and force stop ofc) pop up.

When I run a speed test I am coming up with .3mbps. Is that normal? What can I do to speed it up? Also, it pings to Los Angeles, seems funny to me. I primarily use my hero as a tether to my laptop and like to watch netflix. I have the all data plan with sprint.

I have managed to use it to open up webpages including my usual email provider/facebook and have bookmarked them. I have inserted my numbers into the address book (and managed to sync with facebook for photos/birthdays), send SMS, make phone calls but that is it! In simple terms: how can I find apps and download them, does it always work through WiFi, how can I take things off the homepage (I have managed to install the (empty) playlist to the homepage but cannot remove it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm on the Orange network and am having problems with the 3G network. Various apps (Facebook, Market, Head to Head & Internet Browser) will only download data when there is a connection to the HSDPA signal.
The 3G signal has shown as 3 or 4 bars but will consistently not download any data. Once the HSDPA signal is found, then the download starts. This can be frustrating as there isn't always a HSDPA signal.
I wiped and flashed fresh 2.1.2 and initially it gave me about 90mb free after a clean and fresh install. After I installed all my apps I still had about 70mb left. But during the past few days I've noticed the internal memory slowly decreasing or leaking even though I haven't downloaded anything new. I've lost about 10mb by doing absolutely nothing.

If I get an email or text while downloading it pauses my download and says waiting for data connection. The same thing happens sometimes when it bounces from WiFi to Ev. The only way I can get it to start downloading again is to start another download. This is annoying so does anyone know a better way to resume a download or is there some setting I can change?

I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Every time when i try to enter Hboot I get this error : Searching HEROIMG.zip ,HEROIMG1.zip and it doesn't finds it and returns back. I also cannot do a flashrec. I renamed image into recovery-backup,recovery etc,etc, but it says Flash failed,I changed version from the newest to the oldest tried many image files. Nothing helps. When I try to enter a recovery menu I cannot get a custom recovery menu,I am only being stucked at normal hero recovery menu.

Just got my htc hero yesterday and i am loving it!! Anyway i was reading about an update that speeds the hero up a bit (i have noticed sluggishness at times) and so i download it off the htc website, once i started running it, it said i was going From: Image version: 2.73.405.66 To: Image version: 2.73.405.5
Should i install this update? Or am i going backwards?Im with Vodafone UK if this makes a difference.
