HTC :: Hero Online (mobile) Keeps Jumping And Auto-scrolling / Stop It?

Jul 26, 2010

Has anyone noticed this? Almost every time I have the mobile network on, when on a browser page (Skyfire) or reading Newsrob articles it keeps jumping or scrolling from link to link, and fights me when I try and scroll back, like it's trying to help me see the links or something...!

I'm on a Hero 1.5 (was locked to Orange, now on O2, about to get the 2.1 upgrade I THINK)

I don't think this is a particularly useful feature...

HTC Droid Eris :: Strange Auto-scrolling With Alarm / Fix It?

Oct 7, 2010

My wife has been having a very strange problem with her Eris lately. She uses her phone as her alarm and when it goes off in the morning and she picks it up to snooze or dismiss the options simply won't be on the screen, it will be her default home screen. The alarm is still going off though so she touches the Sense clock widget to turn off the alarm manually but as soon as she touches the widget the screen starts to scroll to the left and will continue to do so for a few moments and will eventually stop. She only seems to have this auto-scrolling problem when dealing with her alarm going off. Any suggestions?

Android :: Stop Scrolling ListView?

Aug 5, 2010

I have a scenario, where I have three buttons(like tabs) and when clicking on each button, I am showing a listView, such that, I select one button and scroll the listView. During scrolling if I click on any other button, that list is also continue scrolling. Actually, I don't want the scrolling

When I click on any other button, it should not scroll and it should be in the starting position(means index 0).

I tried onScrollChangeListener(), in that onScrollStateChanged() is there.

I tried putting setSelection(0) in SCROLL_STATE_FLING & SCROLL_STATE_SCROLL state.

Its going to index zero, but continue from there, its still scrolling. How can I stop this scrolling.

General :: Auto Restrict Background Data And Disable Auto-sync When Mobile Data Enabled

Aug 24, 2013

I'm trying to limit my mobile data usage with out jumping through hoops.

I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.

This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.

Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?

Android :: Stop Progressbar Manual Scrolling In Droid?

Apr 14, 2010

I have already posted my query here, but unfortunately, not getting the required support for this simple query.

I am using a progressbar widget in my application to show the download progress.

In the current state, I am able to manually move the slider back and forth while download is progressing. How can I prevent the manual moving of progressbar, instead it works only based on

progressbar.setProgress(progressbar.getProgress() + 1024); -- currently this works perfect, but I need to prevent the manual moving of progressbar during download.

Android :: How To Make Listview With Selectable Children Stop Scrolling On Touch Event

Oct 20, 2009

As a work around to the issue where a list item isn't focusable if it has a focusable child item (a comment by Romain Guy was that this was intended behavior, for accessibility reasons) I simply filled the listItem with two children, each of which is focusable - There's nowhere to directly touch on the listItem anymore, just it's children.

For the most part this is a useable workaround, effectively invisible to the user, except for one thing- Although you can scroll by swiping without issue, touching to *stop* the scroll no longer works- I imagine because the child item is capturing the touch event and not passing it to the parent listitem, at least while the scroll is in effect.

Is there a known workaround for this? Perhaps someway to "pass the baton" of the touch event back up to the parent listItem, or a way to change my design?

BTW- I know there's some built-in functonality for single/multiple choice listviews (checkbox listviews) - That doesn't actually help in my case. The app is a contact list, and the row children are a relativelayout (populated with contact info) and a clickable phone icon (a one-touch dial for the contact), which needs to be visible or invisible depending on whether the stored contact has a phone number.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Auto Backlight Or Auto Brightness

Dec 9, 2009

Are these the same? I have searched the forum, and can't seem to find the answer. I don't find any "auto brightness" setting in the settings menu on the Hero. I have auto backlight unchecked. What exactly does this do? Is this the screen dimming? Sorry, I am confused. Uh oh! Must be a senior moment!

While I am showing off photos I have on my phone, the screen dims...how do I keep this from happening?

Also, relating to photos..when I go to "Albums", I have 4 folders listed...Camera Shots, All Photos, etc. When I take a pictures with the phone camera, they seems to be in both folders. Why?

Nexus :: How To Stop Music From Auto-playing?

Apr 1, 2010

Got a nexus one and on it is Android 2.1 I believe?I plug my car's headphone style cable into the phone all the time to listen to internet radio and even the internal mp3's on it every once in a while. The problem is the phone's music player starts all the time on its own and plays random music OVER whatever internet radio app I may be using. Its so annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop.Out of no where listening to iHeartRadio, or DroidLive, the Mp3 native music players starts and plays.I've read people saying use the drop down (notification) to go into the app, and hit pause, then the phone's back button to get out and that that particular order will stop it.Even if its instructions on how to delete the native music app and a suggestion for another 3rd party music app anything just HAVE to get rid of this auto play thing.

I have a wifi network at home which I want the phone to always connect to when in range. I also have a wifi network at work, that I only want to connect to from time to time to update the calendar and download emails. Currently I have to turn off wifi when at work until I need it, but I've had this working before. I'm on my second Desire as the Orange 2.2 update fubar'd the first , my first phone would always ask me if I wanted to connect to the works wifi, the new one just connects straight away, and it will only be a matter of time before my twitter app gets me into trouble.
