I have weatherbug but I only want it to update when I hit refresh. I do not see a way olf doing this, I can only set it to auto upset every 6 hours. Anyone else have any ideas?

I have Weatherbug lite and it doesn't automatically follow my location at all.
I have My location enabled, I have it reading off 3G towers instead of GPS, and I have the Weatherbug locator app. Also it is tracking me in the background. Nothing. I have 'My Location' as the default, but it doesn't change.
Only time that it updates is if I enable GPS following, then it gets it perfectly. Otherwise no dice.
Anyone have this problem as well?

Anyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

And i observe based on LOG statement that Unsoliciated Command UNSOL_NITZ_TIME_RECEIVED is not getting called at the time of Android system boot-up time with some Service Provider (like BSNL, Reliance) but it's getting called when i insert the Vodaphone and Airtel SIM card. but not able to figure out that How this UNSOL_NITZ_TIME_RECEIVED command has been triggered? If anybody have any idea please help me? Also i willing like to know where i have to made change, is it in Kernel level or Framework level?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a link to the Facebook app on one of my screens and whenever I open it and immediately click on "News Feed", there are posts from a matter of minutes or 1 hour ago even when I haven't opened the app for a full day or two. I am not root, using stock everything and have downloaded all of the OTA updates. My Settings > Accounts and Sync menu shows accounts only for Google and Weather, nothing for Facebook. Auto-sync data is checked but shouldn't it only do so for the accounts that are setup?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI of course have froyo in my X. However since froyo updated I have been hoping that my apps would update, they are not. I have checkmarked the allow auto update box, even updated some of them manually once afterwords. I have taken the market off my task killer list. I only check it about twice a day, and everytime I have an update (not a manual update but a yellow font update)..nothing happens, I can let it sit on the market downloads screen or sleep my phone or do whatever and it just does not update my apps..does anyone have any ideas as too why this is? Perhaps something is off or being killed by my task killer? I have the two arrows on in the power management android widget (found this out by my gmail not snycing and receiving automatically). Any help is appreciated as I am at a loss as too why this isn't working..my friends droid updates her apps about twice a day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having issues with my TF700 so I did a factory reset, and reinstalled CM 10.1. Unfortunately now the play store was updated to 4.0.26. I think this version is horrible so I uninstalled the updates to it resetting it back to 3.10.14. Cool, except that it keeps silently upgrading back to 4.0.26 after a while. Is there any way to stop it from doing this?

Recently my music player has stopped updating what music I have/don't have on my memory stick. I deleted a few albums off my memory stick and added a couple, and it still shows the old album, (unable to play, says 'audio player does not support files of this type' or something like that) and it doesn't show the new music I put on there. I've restarted my device about 4 times, tried closing/reopening the music app.. I don't know what to do to clear this up. I'm running 2.1 (via WhiteWidow/Root if that matters) and music has never given me a problem before. The other music apps have the same problem, none of them seem to refresh.

I'm currently on APEX launcher and cm9. When i put any widgets on the home screen that auto update, they do work ok for a short while, but then stop. for instance, a clock widget will work for a 10 minutes maybe, but then stick.
I don't use any a task killer.
I have an android application that I want to always be running in landscape mode.
I have the following code implemented to keep the app in landscape mode all the time:
inside my activity in the Application Manifest
android:screenOrientation="landscape"
This seems to launch and keep the application in landscape view for the whole duration of the application. Perfect!
However, if I have the app running on my HTC Aria (Android 2.1) and the phone locks, if I unlock the phone, I see the application for probably half a second and it's in portrait orientation and then quickly switches back to landscape mode. It is quite frustrating because all of my views are jumbled around and it looks unprofessional as you can imagine. This happens in both the emulator and on my real phone.
Does anyone know how to stop the application from temporarily rotating when the phone is unlocked?
I have tried overriding onConfigurationChanged() but with no success.
I have also tried putting setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); into the onResume() but the app still shows as the incorrect orientation for a split second when the phone is unlocked.
Its a small issue but i don't like how the desire automatically makes the first letter a capital letter. is there any way of turning this off?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot a nexus one and on it is Android 2.1 I believe?I plug my car's headphone style cable into the phone all the time to listen to internet radio and even the internal mp3's on it every once in a while.The problem is the phone's music player starts all the time on its own and plays random music OVER whatever internet radio app I may be using.Its so annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop.Out of no where listening to iHeartRadio, or DroidLive, the Mp3 native music players starts and plays.I've read people saying use the drop down (notification) to go into the app, and hit pause, then the phone's back button to get out and that that particular order will stop it.Even if its instructions on how to delete the native music app and a suggestion for another 3rd party music app anything just HAVE to get rid of this auto play thing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone will get notification rather quickly but when i put the phone down to go to bed and when i wake up there will be no emails no fb notifications but when i start to touch it again i get all the notifications from the time i went to bed till i woke up. is there a setting somewhere that makes the phone go into hyper idle or something? maybe coz they phone is stationary for so long? id gate to think i was at work and had my phone on my desk i wouldn't get any messages all day unless im touching my phone.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop the Desire/android from automatically connecting to specific wifi networks. I have a wifi network at home which I want the phone to always connect to when in range. I also have a wifi network at work, that I only want to connect to from time to time to update the calendar and download emails. Currently I have to turn off wifi when at work until I need it, but I've had this working before. I'm on my second Desire as the Orange 2.2 update fubar'd the first , my first phone would always ask me if I wanted to connect to the works wifi, the new one just connects straight away, and it will only be a matter of time before my twitter app gets me into trouble.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes, well actually a lot of the time, when I flash a new ROM after wiping down the entire phone I find that after signing into Google in the beginning stages of the activation that suddenly apps begin appearing.
I've found that if I skip the Google integration setup until after the initial process is completed the apps don't auto restore.
But where can I find this cache that google is pulling this stuff from and completely delete this?

Love my fone so far, but had not too much time playing with it so far, but one thing that bugs me is that my screen auto lock straight after a call even if I am not back to my home screen, how can I stop it to do this. For example when I type, "I'll be there @ 3:30" it auto corrects to, "I'll be there@ 3:30."
It does this with the @, &, ", - , and I am sure others. I end up having to delete the symbol, add the space again, then type the symbol.
