Motorola Droid X :: Gmail Is Not Auto-syncing
Sep 23, 2010I am so sick of not getting status bar notifications and having to go into the Gmail app to manually refresh! It started a couple of days ago, I since installed the Froyo 2.2 update and also downloaded the Gmail update in the Marketplace. I read through some forums online all stating to check the box for auto sync in account settings, however I don't have that option.

Apr 1, 2010Got a nexus one and on it is Android 2.1 I believe?I plug my car's headphone style cable into the phone all the time to listen to internet radio and even the internal mp3's on it every once in a while.The problem is the phone's music player starts all the time on its own and plays random music OVER whatever internet radio app I may be using.Its so annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop.Out of no where listening to iHeartRadio, or DroidLive, the Mp3 native music players starts and plays.I've read people saying use the drop down (notification) to go into the app, and hit pause, then the phone's back button to get out and that that particular order will stop it.Even if its instructions on how to delete the native music app and a suggestion for another 3rd party music app anything just HAVE to get rid of this auto play thing.

I did try searching...but as each phone is different and the Droid root is so new I could not find these questions anywhere.I have seen the term brick thrown about quite a bit here. When you talk of a risk of bricking the phone are we talking the true sense, as in the phone will be as useful as? Or are we talking the more recent and inacurate type of brick...where things dont work, but you can still access the phone and with help can reformat?Lets say I root and insall Flan, and decide I am not happy with it. How easy is it to unroot? Can I just do a factory reset?
Do you have to turn off auto syncing and backups? Can I back up my phone and program settings so that if I can undo the root.I can restore my Droid to current configuration without a lot of work?

Jul 19, 2010My phone will get notification rather quickly but when i put the phone down to go to bed and when i wake up there will be no emails no fb notifications but when i start to touch it again i get all the notifications from the time i went to bed till i woke up. is there a setting somewhere that makes the phone go into hyper idle or something? maybe coz they phone is stationary for so long? id gate to think i was at work and had my phone on my desk i wouldn't get any messages all day unless im touching my phone.

For example when I type, "I'll be there @ 3:30" it auto corrects to, "I'll be there@ 3:30."
It does this with the @, &, ", - , and I am sure others. I end up having to delete the symbol, add the space again, then type the symbol.

Sep 29, 2010When I first got my X it allowed me to manually choose to connect to wifi but lately it just auto connects and I cant turn it off if im in a wifi area. May 2, 2010I can't stand the fact that the Facebook app automatically adds my Facebook friends to my contact list, but they don't show up when I open the People icon, only when I'm choosing the contacts to send or forward a text to.I want to be able to sync the contacts I have with their Facebook profile, but I don't want Facebook automatically adding contacts to my phone.And I can't just diasble auto-sync because there are programs that apparently need it running. The only other option I can think of is to completely remove Facebook from my phone and that's bullsh*t.I know it sounds confusing, but does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? It woulddn't be such a problem, but now when I go to pick my contacts to forwards to, I have hundreds of contacts instead of the 95 or so I had before.

Jan 11, 2010Well the problems started 3 weeks ago when i noticed whenever i move around the headphones inside the jack, the music stops or one of the ear buds stop working. so i thought it was the headphones since skullcandies don't last long. i got a new pair and listened again but it STILL HAPPENED . (btw, the phone is not rooted)
The Phone still plays media fine without the headphones, so i thought no big deal. NEW PROBLEMS started to occur. The phone would NOT PLAY Media files whatsoever. (games, music, notifications, APPS ) every time it happens i have to restart the phone.

Jan 24, 2010I'm trying to get a subset of my music from my laptop onto my Eris. Can't use iTunes (obviously). iTunes Agent sets up just fine, but then when I hit the "sync" button, says "no connected devices" or words to that effect. (Even though it saw the Eris just fine when going through setup!) Doubletwist doesn't see all my playlists (and it DOES see playlists that were deleted). I have it syncing a couple of playlists, just to see how it goes. Salling Media Sync seemed like a great idea (it saw all the right playlists) but it crashes every time on the first song. And if I take that song out of the sync, it crashes on the "new" first song.
I've looked at MediaMonkey and TuneWiki and (for various reasons) didn't like them. I'd be fine with DoubleTwist if only it saw the real playlists... (and yes, I've searched the forums, apologies in advance if I missed the answer)

Jul 3, 2010Recently my music player has stopped updating what music I have/don't have on my memory stick. I deleted a few albums off my memory stick and added a couple, and it still shows the old album, (unable to play, says 'audio player does not support files of this type' or something like that) and it doesn't show the new music I put on there. I've restarted my device about 4 times, tried closing/reopening the music app.. I don't know what to do to clear this up. I'm running 2.1 (via WhiteWidow/Root if that matters) and music has never given me a problem before. The other music apps have the same problem, none of them seem to refresh.

So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

Jun 29, 2010i am running captjager 1.6.2 and everything has been running swimmingly up til now. it is set to auto syn every two hours, when it starts to sync and the little loop icon appears in the notification bar it just hangs there....forever or until i cancel sync and resync manually then it will finish the sync. is there a fix for this that anyone knows of? if not i will be switching back to stock, this has become annoying and probably is killing my battery.
