For some reason I cannot send or receive MMS on my Hero. I can surf the web and send regular text msgs without a problem but no dice with MMS. What gives? Anyone have MMS working on At&t on their hero?

I'm on Sprint and I don't understand why I can't send or receive pictures through a text. I don't get any error message but the people I send a picture to never receive it and when someone sends me a picture in a text I never receive it. I cut the resolution on my phone down to 1mb but it didn't help

Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

Well my phone does ring when i call out or someone calls but as soon as the call is answered its just dead ... neither end can hear anything.. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how i can fix it.. Called sprint and they told me to take it into a service center.. They are saying this is a known issue as of yesterday.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got my Hero last night from Best buy with that nice little coupon! Great device so far, except that I cant send SMS at all. I can receive them though. I tried sending with the built in app, as well as HandCent.
When sending with the built in app, I get this error:
Cause Code 97
Error Code 2
I have tried updating firmware, PRI and PRL. Also rebooted the phone. Nothing makes it work. Anyone have ideas what I can do to make this work?

I'm considering getting a HTC Desire to replace my Nokia N95. One of the features I use a lot is the Nokia PC Suite's ability to send/receive SMS using my PC. I sometimes send upwards of 1000 SMS's per month, and can't see myself enjoying any phone which doesn't have this software.

Since there seems to be no way to stop that; I am trying to find a simple sms to sms app.. a paid one without ads that is as simple to use as 'regular' texting. So I'm using Globe tattoo usb stick E1552 & E153(rebranded Huawei) attached by USB dongle. Both work fine for internet using PPPwidget and sending SMS through GO SMS Pro, but is unable to receive SMS or make phone calls(I tried most dialers from Play store).
*-Thoose things work perfect on a pc, so what is Android missing? She needs this tablet when starting in college this comming june, and there is no public Wi-Fi on campus.Here in the Philippines, things we take for granted in other countries, are scares to be found.
There are plenty of apps for windows and pc but eventhough I have used 5 days and looked though hundreds of google pages using different search criterias, I have not been able to find a solution for Android.I would not be able to send SMS. URLs.....The last one is alien language to me as I'm not an programmer.
I even installed the JB Messaging app from XDA - but sadly it had no effect.What I need is offline SMS, there are plenty of apps for online SMS but her money is not enough for constant internet.

I contacted Optus in Australia and they went through my MMS settings with me. The strange thing was I could send an MMS, but not receive them. After much fiddling around I found that a title had to be put into the message or a message typed. I then received the MMS and was able to download the attached file. Has anyone else had this problem with the Galaxy or do you think it may be an Optus problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to send an apk to my friend but it says something like not supported filetype and therefore it's automatically rejected and it is not sent in consequence. It's not a problem with my phone but with Samsung i9000 dual core 1.2GHz with mali400. IMO we could fix it by adding a line but I'm not sure which file to edit. Weirdly he's able to send apk's. I can send apk files to everyone but him. His Rom is resurrection remix v4.0.7

Any way to get at the Send and Receive Text functions of a phone? In other words, is there a way to transmit a text such that another phone, within range and using my app, could receive that text? Proposed app: The_Haiti_Phone: All cell towers and land lines are down. I would create a text msg to my wife's phone and my special app would send it. All cell phones in range would pass it on. When the packet's receiver's ID matches a cell phone's ID, the msg displays to the user. In summary, in a catastrophe, all cell phones with my app act as cell towers.

1) How do I change the settings? I only have one (Telus SP) and it's locked. I can't change anything whatsoever
2) What are the right settings supposed to be?
3) Does the phone need to be "rooted"? I don't even really know what that entails, I just know you need to root a phone before you can do some things.
