HTC Hero :: How To Swap Between Calls?
May 28, 2010Probably really simple, but how do you swap calls over if another call is coming in on the hero? All I end up doing is disconnecting both of them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Freshrom 2.1D. I would like to replace the Sense Email with the Droid Email client. I have the Droid email apk, but it won't install. I assume it is conflicting with the default mail client.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Taskiller the amount of free memory is showing between 90-105mb. Is this normal? I have deleted text messages, cleared cache, deleting emails from inbox and trash etc. I going to get rid of a few apps too, but its a bummer if I cant have many apps due to it affecting memory!
Also I understand that if flash it with the Modaco custom ROM. I can create a swap partition, does this help a lot? Also would I lose quite a lot of the HTC Hero features such as Sense UI for example if I flash it with Modaco?
When ever I partition the sdcard it gives the option of installing a swap partition. I know that my ubuntu installation on my laptop installs a swap partition when I installed the operating system. Would there be any benefit for installing a swap partition on the sd card?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHere I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account. Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a swap. Now for the additional 1 to 2 feet of snow that is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, on top of the 2.5 feet still on the ground.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings. If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad the Hero for 3 weeks now, and love it. Much nicer than the IPhone Just one issue I have had with it. When someone phones, I tend to only have about 2 rings to answer it before it goes to voicemail. When I tested trying to phone it myself from another phone, it rang 3 times on the phone I was rinigng it from before my Hero made any sign of life. On the 4th ring the LED started flashing and on the 5th ring it started making a noise. By th 7th ring the voicemail had kicked in.Why does it take 3 rings before the phone starts doing something? It seems like its the software just taking a moment to work out whats going on. I'm running the latest ROM however it was the same on the older one too.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of an app for recording calls that does not require you to put the phone on speakerphone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf i'm using the car kit, stop at a destination, and want to carry one the call but using the handset, how can I do this? I cant see a way to switch between the 2 when on calls.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have missed 5 incoming calls today (my children trying to contact me, my phone was on silent). There was NO notification on the notification bar to inform me that I had had missed calls. I have SMSToMailbox setup (which informs me that I have had missed calls, but, up to half an hour later than the call should have came through, it's still a great program though!), so I eventually found out they were trying to contact me.Since getting home, I have called my phone a number of times from my landline, all got through, BUT the 'missed call' notification on the notification bar only stayed there for a maximum of 2 seconds! (I disabled SMSToMailbox during the test).
I wondered if it might be one of the applications that I have downloaded that may be interfering with the notification not staying where it should be. SO, I uninstalled the 'Phonebook' address book app, and, low and behold, the notification stayed in place when I phoned from my landline and hung up.
I wonder, maybe some of the 'faults' we may find on the Hero (or other Android phones), may be down to what we actually download onto them!
My Hero has been playing up recently. Drops calls as I try and make them and will not receive calls. I did a factory reset and it all worked again earlier this week but it has just gone back to no calls.
View 3 Replies View Relatedjust wondering if anyone knows of any way to have the HTC Hero indicate when a call has been diaverted to it from a landline. Have my business line diverted to my mobile and with past (cheap & basic) mobile phones on the same carrier, the number of the caller would come up with an icon which indicated that it was a diverted call. Would really love having this feature on my Hero.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHad problems with their Hero cutting out during a call? After a few minutes (less than 5) I find I can't hear the other person and then it cuts out. I'm on my second Hero (first one had touch screen problems galore). I love my phone but I'm reduced to using it for email and text as I haven' t got the energy to fight with T Mobile again....
View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring calls my screen times out and goes black after the set amount of seconds (can't remember what mine is set to), but i just wanna know if there is a way of keeping the screen from timing out for the duration of the call, thus making it easier to end the call without having to turn on and unlock the screen?
View 12 Replies View RelatedNoticed this the other night. Calls go strait to voicemail. As soon as it goes into evdo, calls resume as normal. If I turn off the network, I never have an issue. Any idea?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAlthough there are a few threads about calls going straight to voice mail in other phone sections, I have yet to see one here. From what I read, there isn't a solution, but I still want to ask being that it is now happening to my Sprint Hero. Anyone know what causes it, or if there is a setting one can change to stop it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that when I am browsing web pages I cannot receive phone calls - they go straight to voicemail. I am using a T-Mobile G2 on the T-mobile network in the UK. Is this a standard issue and, if so, are they any ways of dealing with it?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm finding it extremelly annoying that some calls are going straight to voicemail. When I'm at work I have a full strength signal, the phone sits on my desk all day but for some unknown reason, some calls go straight to voicemail.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have been missing many calls from my Hero more than any other Sprint phone I owned, has anyone experienced this issue? not even a ring, full bars of signal strength and goes to voicemail at times, not all the time but my wife says it happens a lot when she tries to contact me, any suggestions folks? I read some stuff about the Slot Index would this solve my issue? or would I be best to root my phone since I am still stock?
View 9 Replies View Related1: My phone gives me two notifications for missed calls. One that comes from '333' which is the number from '3 mobile' here in australia, and a second notification which it says is from a random facebook friend. Someone i dont even have in my phonebook. It has their picture and name?
I am using handcent and am wanting to cut it down to only one message per missed call, preferably i want to stop the one coming from the facebook contact.
2. I am using launcherpro + and was checking out the new calendar widget. Problem is it shows the birthdays for every single facebook contact i have I want to stop these being shown on my calendar. They dont show with my Pure calendar widget. the pure calendar widget is set to display all events in the calendar called 'My Name'. How can i remove the birthdays from appearing from the launcherpro + widget?
When I tap 'call mobile' there is no attempt to dial and the call ends straight away (the end call button at the bottom greys out as soon as I tap call). This has only just started happening. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what's the solution?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)
I've started to recognize a peculiar problem. During a phone conversation on my Hero, I will start talking, and the other person will start talking just after that (maybe a second or two), then they stop, as they apparently now hear me "interrupting" them. In other words, to them, they started talking first, then I start but to me, I started talking first! (No, I am not purposely interrupting them) It's hard to describe, but it seems that there may be a delay in my audio getting to them. It seems to happen with all callers. Did I make this clear? Now, I am wondering if this happens when I am away from home as well, as I use an Airave device at home. Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to test this? Or a solution?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone know if there is there a method to quickly withhold your number for outgoing calls as and when neccessary? Currently I do it via home/menu/settings/call settings/additional call settings/caller ID *phew* Ideally I would like to be able to toggle caller ID on/off from one of the homescreens..is that possible?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor quite a while now, people have been saying how long it takes for me to answer my phone, even though it's usually on my desk and I get there after a couple of rings.
So today I tested it out. I rang my mobile number from my landline, it connected and started ringing, but it got to about six rings before the LED on my mobile started flashing and a further two rings until it started ringing!
I'm on T-Mobile, but it seems to connect OK, just take a while to register on my phone. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but I use my mobile for business and it doesn't make me look very good!
Kind of new to this so if you would please stick with me I would appreciated it. I flashed to Fresh 2.0d yesterday w/o any real issues and now it appears that I can not make out going calls (in-coming as well possibly). I get a 'your account can not be verified' message. I also received an email referring to my purchase of a new 'nexus one' this morning, not really sure what that is all about. All the data stuff seem seems to be working fine sms, email, internet etc. (voicemail I have no idea about though).I could really use a hand here, this is my only phone, I am feeling a bit cut off atm and if I don't call my mom tomorrow I'm am really in trouble!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an occasional annoyance with the Hero. I think some part of my ear sometimes touches the END CALL button and I get disconnected. Is there an app or something that might make you either touch in 2 places or slide a button or some other way to make it just a bit harder to hang up?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.
