Had problems with their Hero cutting out during a call? After a few minutes (less than 5) I find I can't hear the other person and then it cuts out. I'm on my second Hero (first one had touch screen problems galore). I love my phone but I'm reduced to using it for email and text as I haven' t got the energy to fight with T Mobile again....

The oddest thing keeps happening to me. Every now and then, my data just shuts off. It is gone for about ~15 minutes to an hour, then comes back on.
I recently bought a used Galaxy S4, and when I first bought it this happened about every day, then it stopped for awhile, now it just happened again (about 4-5 days since it last happened) so I figured I would try to find out what's going on.
But what's happening isn't making any sense. I have full bars, I have t-mobile on the top, I can make calls, and my data is turned on. It's just not working. Turining data off and on doesn't work, neither does resetting the phone. The only thing that works is waiting. When my data is on, I almost always have fast 4g data, I don't have any issues with connectivity.
I took a screenshot of my Settings screen (with private data removed) for reference. at first the only time this would happen is when I would leave a Wi-Fi connection. I figured the phone just was taking too long to "realize" i wasn't on wi-fi anymore and mobile data needed to turn back on. However, I turned off wi-fi for the last week or so and have been using mobile data exclusively. That's when it started happening less, it's happened about every 3 days since I turned off my wi-fi and about every 1 day before then.
I have a strange issue with my rooted Eris.. Currently running V38 however I have had this issue since at least v30.. Every call I make, after the 1 minute mark I hear a beep and it seems like my call dropped. About 5 seconds later its back.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had the same problems with their X10's as me? When trying to make a call (to landlines or mobiles) my phone often cuts out with a 'beep'. Sometimes its after no rings, sometimes after 4+ rings and even sometimes after the call has connected. Each time, after i call the person back, it connects without a problem.
I've taken the phone back to the shop where purchased for a repair and tried factory resets and software updates but with no success. Any ideas anyone? I'd love to get this fixed because this fundamental flaw (possibly just with my handset) is ruining my X10 experience.
My x10 has over the past day started cutting all my calls both in and out after about 30 seconds when i look it says there is no sim recognised then a few seconds later it's fine again, also when i try to do a backup it says there is no memory card registered even though i can access things stored on it when it's plugged into my laptop.

It started on a call and got so bad I ha to switch to the handset. it also did it playing MP3s right off the phone. This was a $90 motorola unit. So I took it back and picked up a nice Jabra for about $80 (just showing these aren't cheap units). I have not used the Jabra for a call yet, but the music cuts in and out for a few seconds every minute or so. Phone was in the holster on my hip so it wasn't a distance issue, the music is stored on the phone so it isn't a bandwidth thing.

I'm using the exact same code from previous API's, with just what is below for mp3 playback. I changed the API level of my app to 2.2 for external storage, but the app still runs perfectly on any emulator using <=2.1 and on my Moto Droid.

If you currently have your GV number set to call your Sprint cell and your incoming call is from another cell phone will you be charged for the minutes? If you setup your phone so GV is used to call all numbers that you dial will you be charged for calling other cellular number because GV masks the number? I have been through every level of support that Sprint offers and no one can answer me. Sadly tier 3 technical support told me "Google Voice is useless on a cell phone and you would not want to use this anyway". I had nothing more to say after that!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI only noticed this after I installed the 2.2 update. Now, sometimes when I plug the charger in, the LED blinks amber. It is not just the LED blinking, it is blinking because it charges for a second, then stops, then charges, etc. It does this with the OEM AC charger, and any other charger I use, however, it does not do it all the time, it seems random. When it is doing this, it doesn't actually charge. I turn the phone off, plug the charger in, it's fine, turn the phone back on, still fine. It's somewhat annoying. Anyone experience this or know what's going on? It's definitely not an overheated battery.

My phone will keep cutting off in the middle of calls for no reason. First time I thought it might be my cheek or something pressing against the "end call" button whilst talking, but after this happening about ten times since I've had the phone in two weeks, I'm pretty sure theres something wrong with my phone. That or whoevers calling me has problems with their phone :
At one point the sound just cut off mid-call andalthough I could hear the person on the other end they couldnt hear me...
I don't know whether this is a HTC Desire problem noted before or it might just be my handset.. I went to an Orange store who said maybe the sensor at the top of the phone was not picking up on my "being there" by me holding it badly or something but i have no clue.
I am trying to play a 0.1s tone using audio track. I have done this succesfully in stream mode by calling play() then writing the array of short containing the data. However when I use STATIC mode and also in stream mode if I write the data before i call play() only about 0.06s of the audio is played. I have tried changing the buffer size but this has not effect.My understanding is that I have to write the data before I call play for static mode to work. Does anyone know what could be going wrong here?

Time without a signal: 4% (i have wifi connected most of the day, and JD manages my mobile data for 1/15)
Mostly phone calls and emails. Only 5 txts, no GPS, no camera, no apps. My Usage chart shows the highest item is "Voice Calls" at 32% which was only about 20 calls, longest one was 25min.
Thats actually not that bad, but not much better than i was getting from Stock.
Since the major reason i rooted was for the battery saving capabilities, im obviously here asking you guys what my next step is. Are there other ROM/Kernal combos that are known for having insane battery life? Do i put a different kernal with this ROM?
I feel like im barely using the phone! I feel like if i did play some games, surf the net, maybe use tether, etc. That id be dead before noon. i understand 12-16 hrs with heavy use is actually great. Im posting this because with my current root combo, its not terribly better than my stock setup, so i want to see what else i can do. This isnt a "omgz the battery sucks!" thread. i would have the 3500 in a heartbeat! If they just made a decent case for it!! I have the Siedo Active, and love it to death! i plan to try some ROM/Kernals, im just wondering if there is any known winning combo specifically for power users who need extended battery and who are willing to sacrifice some performance for it.
I am running 1.5..When I get a 2nd incoming call my phone does a lond double beep and cuts out current call..I can't hear the 1st caller and they can't hear me...Has anyone had this problem and if so how can I fix it...Verizon of course has never heard this complaint..I did a full reset...Even with just stock apps it does this..They offered to send me a refurb one...

It will just cut off suddenly. Is it a problem with the phone that I need to bring down to the customer service? My worst experience was to call my friend 3 times for a 10 minutes conversation. I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. It doesn't happen all of the time, and I can't seem to reproduce it. It only started recently - within the last few days.
On some calls, after talking for a minute or so, the person on the other end will just not be able to hear me anymore. The call is still connected, and I can hear them just fine, but I end up having to disconnect and call them back due to the strange muting problem.
Anyone else experience this lately? I haven't installed any new apps recently - minus updates - so I'm not sure it's an app conflict. Just trying to pinpoint the issue and see if I'm the only one.
I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad the Hero for 3 weeks now, and love it. Much nicer than the IPhone Just one issue I have had with it. When someone phones, I tend to only have about 2 rings to answer it before it goes to voicemail. When I tested trying to phone it myself from another phone, it rang 3 times on the phone I was rinigng it from before my Hero made any sign of life. On the 4th ring the LED started flashing and on the 5th ring it started making a noise. By th 7th ring the voicemail had kicked in.Why does it take 3 rings before the phone starts doing something?It seems like its the software just taking a moment to work out whats going on. I'm running the latest ROM however it was the same on the older one too.
