General :: Install Cyanogen - Can't Even Get To Unlock Phone?
Apr 1, 2013how to install Cyanogen mod are very difficult. I find myself back-tracking all the time.You can't just simply start there, first you have to unlock your phone, right?Then root it? Then install Cyanogen mod, but in between all of that you have to install the Nexus 4 toolkit, which i did, and it says that it's unable to find my drivers.
I've uninstalled my drivers, turned my computer (I have windows 8) back on so it'll re-install them, got the LG drivers pack, went to the XDA forums were they gave me the right link to download more drivers, still nothing.

Sep 15, 2010I been trying to install Cyanogen for about 2 weeks now. I'm able to just download Baked Snack 1.7 from Rom Manager no problem which I'm running now. But whenever I try flashing Cyanogen from Rom manager or even from CyanogenMod-6 for Evo: Is that an Evo in your pocket - CyanogenMod Forum and Cyanogen6 link? just recently thinking I wasnt using the right zip. It gives me an aborted Error status 7 installation aborted! Any suggestions? I seen some serious game play, (FPS at 50) and just a whole lot of customization while browsing on youtube and I want in!

Mar 16, 2010Even though I'd been gentle as a baby and even dropped this thing on hard wood floor. My first scratch comes from me reaching for the phone in my shirt pocket and my fingernail just scratching the top of the phone. I hadn't the money or time to get a case yet, but I will soon. Is there any way to fix the scratch?

Aug 24, 2010I just installed cyanogen 6.0 on my htc hero cdma and now I have no market app. I dont have any file manager like astro where I can install apk files through the sdcard. Ive tried using the adb push command from my pc but it says that it couldnt because its a read-only file system. (lost me there!) Is it possible to install it by flashing a zip of it from recovery like a rom. Im kind of stuck here, I have no way of installing new apps....

Sep 7, 2010I have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.

Dec 7, 2009I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Something I've noticed is that fingerprints and oil get caught a lot easier in the area I buffed the scratch out in? Did I like wash some fingerprint coating or something? I've been reading about various fixes. I'm intrigued by the idea of clear nail polish. This works well on glass, but I am afraid the nail polish remover used to wipe away any excess might melt this screen.

That said, there are a few rough feeling scratches on the body right above the screen near the power button (on the glossy black part facing the front). I was wondering if anyone has tried smoothing out some scratches successfully? Can't really see it, but I feel it every time I push the Power button or hold the phone in a certain way, and well, while I'll get over it, for now it annoys me.

Jul 17, 2010So I got my first Android phone, this Evo 4G last week. It's really great and I love it but I have all kinds of crazy stuff going on, triple contacts, facebook contacts, my gmail account contacts, my business google apps contacts, just things seem kinda out of control since it's my first Android phone. So I'm thinking about just starting with a clean slate, now that I know a lot more about what the phone can do, which calendars to you, which sms program, other apps that are must-haves. Is this a good idea? Will it do anything to my SD card, which has all of my apps backed up?
