How do I enable the market on the Android 2.1 Cyanogen (AOSP) mod? I am still new to this.
I just installed cyanogen 6.0 on my htc hero cdma and now I have no market app. I dont have any file manager like astro where I can install apk files through the sdcard. Ive tried using the adb push command from my pc but it says that it couldnt because its a read-only file system. (lost me there!) Is it possible to install it by flashing a zip of it from recovery like a rom. Im kind of stuck here, I have no way of installing new apps....

View 9 Replies View RelatedIf anyone out there has been having any problems with WIFI not connecting on this ROM. I've tried everything from resetting my modem, forgetting and reconnecting...I know it is not the connection at my house because everything else works and my phone won't connect at work either. Is this a problem with the ROM itself?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone that is on this ROM, I would like you to try making a 3 way call and let me know if you are able to, some seem to be able to do so and others not and we are trying to find the reason and culprit, I even spoke with the developer and he is still trying to find out why some can and others can't.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my hero and am trying to run cyanogen, but it locks at the load screen, keeps displaying the logo over, and over, and over and.....well you get the idea. Tried 2 diff files, no joy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.
I know that this is a silly question, but I can't seem to access my voicemail running the Cyanogen rom. I get the text saying a number has called me and left me a voicemail, but I don't know what to call to access them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Modaco latest ROM. Its been perfectly fine since I installed it over a month ago, but recently my memory card corrupted and now I cannot download any apps off the market.I had an ext2 partition, so I reformatted my memory stick the exact same way it was before it corrupted. Even so, whenever I try to download items from the market they just get stuck on "Starting Download".I literally cannot download ANY apps
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat are the differences between RUU and AOSP ROMs?
Am I correct that a RUU rom is a fully stock rom that some devs post with or without root? Like basically the latest version of non OTA for your device?
I feel like this is something basic that I should know but just haven't come across it.
Came across this earlier, its tested to be working on both White Widow and NonSensikal. Its the actual HTC Sense Music app that this dude took and fixed up for AOSP. I didnt do anything but stumble across it and make an update zip, but here it is. this is definitely a new addition to my standard apps.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy company has recently received some new android hardware and has requested that I create a custom operating system for the device. The manufacturer has agreed to provide us with the existing android source, but I have a few questions to get started:
On the following link: [URL] .......
It states that I need to add lines similar to the below to my "51-android.rules" file:"
# adb protocol on maguro/toro (Galaxy Nexus)
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="04e8", ATTR{idProduct}=="6860", MODE="0600", OWNER="<username>"
How do I determine the correct information to use for this process? Should I collect this information with the device connected to a windows PC?
Once connected, I would like to scrap their existing operating system and begin from AOSP source, what information from their original source should I retain (Kernel, bootloader, etc), and what information would I be required to remove to bring in AOSP?
But most seem to be specifying nexus devices, or devices which already have a strong developer backing, neither of which apply to this hardware.

Eclipse is so slow, so im trying to switch to intellij. My question is: how do i add the aosp or cm source to intellij?
I've tryed the same way like in eclipse but it doesn't work.
I have a SGS3, but I'm loving AOSP roms since my SGS2, i'm still on SAMMY roms only for the awesome camera app feautres that I don't want to lose...
so i'm asking to aosp users...do you have a good replacement (with HDR, somethingsimilarto best shot..) for stock camera app? 'cause i don't like very much aosp camera
Add video support to this App? (Crunchyroll)
Would it be too difficult or be a simple mod?
I've just run trough all the setps to be able to build aosp on ubuntu. Currently I'm running a build, looks like it will take a while.
My goal is to build an aosp rom for the samsung galaxy chat, samsung provides downloads for 'platform' and kernel.
My question is, what should I do with the sources of the kernel and the platform, do I need to integrate them into the aosp source?
How does one build a rom with aosp on windows, is it possible to build on a virtual box or something like that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted HTC Evo with the stock 2.2 system, and I am considering installing Cyanogen Mod 6, but I'm not sure if it is worth the hassle. What benefits does CM6 have over the rooted version of Froyo on the Evo. I kind of like the Sense UI, so that keeps me from going ahead and installing it. I know that Bluetooth controllers actually work in emulators if you use CM6, so that is a major selling point for me. Is there anything else I should know?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running the latest version of Cyanogen Mod on my evo and LOVEit! However, I have yet to be able to install a theme on my phone. I was under the impression that it was just like flashing a ROM to my phone and that I could even use ROM Manager to do so, but I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. Here's a current screenshot of my main home screen: Basically, all I want to do is to be able to turn the notification bar black. I'd like for all the menus and popups and whatever else to be black as well, but I would settle for just the notification bar.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know devs really need the AOSP to create the ROM properly. With this announcement, does it mean you can get this now?
