I've changed the settings on the main settings and messaging settings several times, taken out the battery, reset the phone..It will vibrate for incoming calls, but not for texts.

I've had the phone for a couple weeks, and I can't figure out how to make it vibrate when I get a text message. I have been through the settings, but can't figure it out. Anyone mind helping?

I uninstalled Chomp and now it works fine.

For the last 2 weeks I have randomly not been receiving text messages. Also just today I had a friend send a picture with text and I saw the pop up, went to Chomp SMS and clicked on the play button to play the slide show. Once I tapped the message, it disappeared. I can no longer find the picture or the message that went along with it. It is very frustrating because I know people are trying to send me photos and messages and I am not even getting them or they are disappearing before I can get/read them. I even checked the original Messages app and the missing texts/photos do not show up there. Is this a Sprint issue or a Hero issue? And is there a fix?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and put fresh 1.1 on it a couple days ago, it received calls after rooting, but recently it stopped receiving calls, and it never received texts or visual voice mails. Gmail still pushes new email to it, and the internet works fine to update things and look at websites.
I tried to restore with nandroid and it took fresh off of it but it still doesn't do text, don't know about calls but i doubt it. also when i rooted it i removed sprint tv, nascar, foot prints and a couple other stock apps. after i found it wasn't getting texts i removed advanced task killer, but it didn't have any effect.
My hero is randomly failing to send or receive txts and calls.
It only happens from time to time but its starting to become annoying.
Has anyone else experienced this? is there any way of fixing it?
First, can we change the phone to vibrate once instead of twice when receiving an SMS?
Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
My Hero show new messages in the notification bar but occasionally when I open a text from the notification area it opens a blank page and deletes it from the messages list. Anyone else experienced anything similar?
View 7 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone will not vibrate when I receive and SMS text message. I have checked and unchecked the vibrate box multiple times and nothing changes. It is not a big deal unless I have my phone on vibrate mode because I am in a meeting or something. During those times, I have no way of knowing if I received a message outside of pulling out my phone and checking it every few minutes. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?

All the notifications are set to vibrate when phone is on vibrate mode. i even set it to vibrate always, and it still will not vibrate at all. if i get a call however, the phone vibrates just fine.

I checked hand cent delivery report under the hand cent settings and unchecked delivery report from carrier. I searched all the other menus and can't figure it out. I get one pop up that has a done/later/eply window and then another underneath that is bigger that has little icons(paper,mike,person,trash and volume) Is this normal behavior? Or is there a setting that I just cannot find.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my EVO has decided to stop accepting any incoming calls, texts, or voice mails. I was only able to receive these messages when I was able to get a call to connect and I got a flood of voice mails and texts as if it hadn't been connected to the network the entire time. It also does this thing where it doesn't connect the call when I dial someone. Instead of connecting and seeing the time duration for the call appear, it instead takes forever to connect and just says dialing for a really long time. It was doing it last night, and then this morning it seemed to be normal again, but now it's doing it again. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I won't have time to go to sprint until Monday and this is really irritating me.

I've noticed that I am receiving double texts from people. Its not just from one person, but a few (but not everyone). I will receive a text say at 7pm and then at 3am, I will receive the same text again. This only happens periodically and not for every text I receive. I think this might be a Sprint issue and not an EVO issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

I spent an hour of useless troubleshooting with him having to turn my phone off and on a bunch and doing a factory reset. After that didn't fix it (surprise surprise, all that inconvenience for nothing) he tells me I'll have to have it replaced with a refurb. I told him that I don't consider a refurbished phone to be an equal replacement and I'm happy to pay a fee of some kind to get a new Eris, just like I would if I went through the insurance (cause those are new, right? if they're refurbs I'll be pissed...). He LAUGHED at me, and said "Every time a phone comes to the end of its term people call in with excuses to get the new model. This is why we don't make exceptions, or else more people like you would be calling in."

When one particular contact of mine sends me a text I will receive an old text instead. Sometimes from that conversation, that day or it may be even older than that. Usually I receive the new text they sent me at some point later but not always. The contact is on the same carrier (Verizon) and using an iPhone 4. I should add that this was also happening on my Motorola Razr (same particular contact). The Razr was rooted and had a new ROM as well, but I believe it also did it when I went back to the stock ROM.
Does this sound like and issue with my friend's phone or mine? Her phone does not do this with any other person but me. And mine doesn't do it with any other person than her.
It happens when using stock messaging or Handcent.
I'm not receiving any texts from a friend of mine. We were just chatting and realized we haven't been responding to each other because I'm not getting her texts! We both have Verizon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI despise any form of audible notification on phones and so generally have it on vibrate for 99% of the time. However, I find the Incredible's vibrate notification for text messages a joke: two quick spurts and no recurring vibrating. Is there any way to perhaps change the text notification to be like a phone call (instead just be two bursts of it) and even make it recurring? Stock options are unbelievably bare and I haven't found any apps that change the vibrate profile.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question. The phone is set to vibrate when receiving SMS messages in the Messaging options. I only receive the audio notification and no vibration. I have also tried it with the program SMSPopup and its the same thing. I downloaded another one, SMSMorse, and it vibrates with this one, vibrating in mores code the message or the sender's name. The problem is that the mores code is long and it wastes the battery. I have sent a complaint to SE and they told me to take out the battery so it resets but no lock. The next thing they told me is to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose all of my settings and everything.

I turn it off and set it to normal, when i receive an SMS it changes to Vibrate and i dont hear my ringtone. I'm using CM10

i've flashed my device with a modaco rom with froyo to try it out. I've found a few bugs and found my last rom a lot better + i'm not receiving texts from abroad so i'm starting to think i may have to send the phone back to vodafone. Now i dont think vodafone have released there ROM - does any body have any idea where i can get hold of the next best thing?

I went to the verizon store and all they said was to just take out battery, ive done that a couple times and its gotten worse. Does anyone know a way to fix it. Is it a setting or is my phone just messed up?
