When i receive a message, it automatically changes the setting of my phone to Vibrate mode.
I turn it off and set it to normal, when i receive an SMS it changes to Vibrate and i dont hear my ringtone. I'm using CM10

Has anyone noticed that Silent mode - when accessed via the Widget that comes up when the power button is held - also turns vibrate off. One would think vibrate should stay on to alert an incoming call "silently"
I've been using Menu> Settings> Sound and Display to turn sound off and leave vibrate on. Does anyone know an easier way ?
All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
I'm looking for a widget which turns the phone into 3G/HSDPA only mode.
I want this as my phone mostly locks itself into GPRS (2G/2.5G) mode in my area where 3G is available but often low signal strength. Usually I switch it by going through the menu.
Settings --> Wireless & networks --> Mobile networks --> Network Mode (and switch it from "GSM / WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only"
Is there anyway to do this through a widget? Like the widgets that let you turn on and off bluetooth/wi-fi. I've looked through android market and haven't found anything yet. Does one exist if not is it not to difficult to make an app that does this.
Is there a way to mute all notifications (preferably set them on vibrate) and still have the phone ring when someone calls. I found many apps that do that for certain contacts, but is there a way to do this for ALL calls?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a question. The phone is set to vibrate when receiving SMS messages in the Messaging options. I only receive the audio notification and no vibration. I have also tried it with the program SMSPopup and its the same thing. I downloaded another one, SMSMorse, and it vibrates with this one, vibrating in mores code the message or the sender's name. The problem is that the mores code is long and it wastes the battery. I have sent a complaint to SE and they told me to take out the battery so it resets but no lock. The next thing they told me is to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose all of my settings and everything.

I have a couple of questions about notifications on the Captivate.
1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
what mode are people running their battery? i just noticed that under smart mode, it turns off the 3g when the phone sleeps. does perf mode drain the battery noticeably faster?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that while my phone is in vibrate mode, there is no audio from any of the media players (Pandora, Cube 3, etc). This is both out of the speaker and headphone jack. I realized it because I plugged my phone in and tried to listen to Pandora after a meeting I had. The phone was still on vibrate, and no sound was coming out of the speakers I had plugged in. Putting the phone into normal ring mode rather than vibrate mode made the music start playing again. I realize that ringtones are basically audio files, so it makes sense that this the default operation, but I just thought I would ask if everyone else experiences this or if there is some setting I can change on my phone to make music play even when the vibrate mode is active.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI have a Razr M on CM10.1 - 4.2.2, and Facebook Mesesnger vibrates even during silent mode when I get a message.I would think Silent Mode overwrites any app priorities, but I guess not.
I have a tasker profile to set my phone to silent mode between 10pm and 9am only if the phone is plugged in, so my phone is on silent all night, but if I get a random facebook message, I wake up to the vibration.
My phone will not vibrate when I receive and SMS text message. I have checked and unchecked the vibrate box multiple times and nothing changes. It is not a big deal unless I have my phone on vibrate mode because I am in a meeting or something. During those times, I have no way of knowing if I received a message outside of pulling out my phone and checking it every few minutes. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?

This was posted in reply to another question I had had about Pandora so the credit goes to poster MeVirtually.
By default the wi-fi setting is set to go to sleep (and use cellular data instead) when the screen is off, which will most likely happen while you are streaming music as well as other things. To change it so the wi-fi never turns off, to into the phone's menu -> wireless and network -> wi-fi settings -> tap the menu button and select advanced which has an option for wi-fi sleep policy that had been defaulted to sleep "when screen turns off". There you have the option to change it to "never" or "never when plugged in".
I'm on Virgin Mobile, LB Optimus F3 4G LTE (it wasn't an option in the forums, so I came here instead). Not sure if this is an Android feature or an LG feature.
Anyway, this thing called "Quiet Mode" will randomly turn itself on at nighttime or in the middle of the day with no warning and silence all sounds and block calls from all contacts. This is obviously frustrating. I'm not bumping it in my pocket or anything -- you can't even turn this mode on without unlocking the screen and scrolling all the way over in my top pull-down bar. For instance, it's been sitting on the chair next to me for the last two hours and I just checked it and it's been in Quiet Mode for who knows how long.
I can add contacts to the allowed calls list, but I still won't hear the ring, and I can only add a limited number of contacts. Also, all the writing within this mode is really poor English, which is odd. Example: "Please mind that incoming calls with exactly the same numbers with below list will only be allowed." Anyway, it can be scheduled for certain times and I'm going to try scheduling it for just one minute from 4:00 - 4:01 AM every night and see if that satiate its compulsion to be in control.
Any ways I can keep it from doing this otherwise? It doesn't appear to be an app that I can fiddle with.
About 1 out of every 3 times that I take a picture, my rooted Samsung Droid Charge turns itself off completely, and will not turn back on unless I pull the battery. I use Titanium Backup to freeze the enormous amount of bloatware.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I have my app notifications set on vibrate except the one that I want sound for at night. I can't put the phone on vibrate or mute at night because then the push notification for the app will be muted also, so I want to leave the phone on "Sound" but somehow be able to quickly make the ringtone silent for when I go to bed and then in the morning put it back to what it was without going through settings each time and digging through my list of sound files.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a note 1 N7000, and each time the screen began flickering and after that it shut down. This got worse after flashing a cyanogenmod rom. By plugging in the charger the battery seemed empty, but wasn't. After a while the battery indicator used to show charged 70 % or more. Put the charger cable off and the situation repeated after a short time of usage. Last night it started turning off at boot and wouldn't turn on unless on charge. I flashed a original JB rom since the problem doesn't happen when on recovery/download mode. but now it does it even when connected on charge.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a galaxy w with cm9 recently flashed. it was awesome at first, everything was working, etc. but recently, or now the phone keeps restarting before i even get to the lock screen.(i cant get into cwm too!) also, the phone turns on itself when i put on the battery. so is it a problem with the rom or is it a power button issue?
