What can we expect from an OS that has native CDMA support? Does it have anything to do with the phone's software performance? I'm just a little confused on this, and if someone couldnt shed some light on it that would be very nice...
I am currently running Fresh 2.0d and i'm starting to love it. I was previously flashed with Fresh 1.1 and was using LockBot, but when i tried it with Fresh 2.0d i started have some issues, so.... is there any way to create lockscreens that are like the ones that are lockbot? (i.e. Flan, Eclar, Iphone)
I know in the [Guide] Creating Custom Lockscreens there's discussions about adding a tutorial for 2.1 roms, but nothing yet.
I use Advanced Task Manager because I love the one-click closes all feature.
My problem: Why are there so many apps opened/running in the background when I haven't even touched my phone?
Is there a way to stop them from running until I use them?
Apps like Sprint Nav automatically runs. I haven't touched it in days, the GPS is off. This is just an example.
So sometimes when I come out of sleep (<<< EDIT: when the phone comes out of sleep :P) , screen goes well opens violet. Like darker and more contrast. (its not the brightness I have a blue desktop and it gets violet) In every screen even if I run an app. Didnt try some fullscreen game with landscape change and I will include pics. Maybe even try if shoot me catches something. But I doubt its software. Suspecting its setcpu(when sleep set 160/240) or the new launcherpro? nedamdam's Apps on the phone.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am struggling to add a contact to a new text message, b4 2.1 I just use to start typing a contacts name into the contact box and it would automatically find the contact, now I have to tap the button next to contact and it lists everyone about 15 times each, which means it takes forever to load them up! Has anyone else had this problem? any ideas how I can sort it? I only have Google contacts marked on my contacts menu!

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero from Sprint. Great little phone. I'm having issues with texting. Here's my scenario.I receive a text from Facebook stating someone wrote on my wall. The from id is 123456789. I then get a text from a friend George. In the list view of of my texts George's text showing under the Facebook number. When I press on the Facebook name it shows the text from Facebook then from George. If I reply it goes to Facebook not George.It also happens under different users, appears to be very random and is causing issues as I'm trying to quickly reply, forget to check who it's going to, then I text someone something I shouldn't have. Not cool.Any ideas how to fix it? I downloaded Handcent SMS as well and that is having the same issue so it appears to be a root droid issue.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWell have had my hero for around 3 days now. I have recently noticed a creaking sound coming from the home and back buttons. It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?
I am running a Telus Hero on AT&T's network. I know other people are also doing this as well. I was thinking about the 2.1 update due out and was wondering what us unlocked Telus Hero owners should do to get it when it is released. I emailed HTC, and they said this. Quote:

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of an unlocked orange uk hero running on t mobile Austria network. I have heard that the newer heroes cant be unlocked because orange have made a deal with htc and changed the codes. I must have been lucky because mine unlocked no problem with the code received from the impel number. My question is if i update the Rom with the orange Rom version on the htc homepage will my phone become Sim locked again, and more worrying will i not be able to unlock it again when it has the new Rom on it?

So what did i do, I obviously waited till i got home and hoped on my wifi with my hero and waited for this message to pop up again..but no msg came
Im currently still running 1.5 and its not rooted yet(dont want to root it)
I also did some research and it said on the htc website that i have to wait another 7 days for this message to pop back up, and to manually check for an update u need to go to settings>about phone>check for update............but i dont have that option anywhere? ive gone through all of my settings and there is no option to check..
Just saw this article at Brighthand. HTC Hero Getting Android OS 2.1 in Early Spring.I would assume that may mean the Eris is also going to have to wait until Spring time as well?

I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I

My phone freezes up at least 6 times a day after the update. I have to do a battery pull to get it going again. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?

Every single one of my contacts in my call history is listed as unknown even though I have them all in "people". Furthermore, when I go to Messages>Compose message and type in a person's name in where it says "To" they do not come up in the search results despite being part of of my "people" contacts. Is there anyway I can fix this without having to reset my enitre phone?

3. Apparently no live wallpaper from Sony (does that mean we won't get Live Wallpaper at all?)

Well... good news is SE apparently has realized they should not have dug too deep into the Android core, but just layer them over. It took them over 9 months to realize this? What will this signify for us, X10 owners? Is that their way of telling us, give up on X10, and get their next Android product?
