Sep 19, 2009I m trying to sync my contacts and calendar from outlook to my hero. i did it once, but after that, every time i connect my phone to the PC via the usb cable. the computer automatically connects it as a USB drive to the SD card which in turn does not allow me to connect for synchronization!...
is there a way to stop auto connect as USB drive? I need the phone to be in sync mode before i can start the htc sync app.

Aug 5, 2013I have a Sero 7 Pro that has a 32GB micro SD card. I would like to take it with me to the deer lease so I can back up all my trail cam pics to the 32GB card. So I got a micro USB to female USB adapter. Plugged a 16GB SD card into a card reader and plugged it into my adapter. The Sero 7 will not see the memory card at all. I have tried all the free usb mount apps and usb mass storage apps on Google play. I even rooted my tablet last night and it still won't see the memory card or my Verbatim flash drive (all formatted as FAT32).

Mar 4, 2013I have recently upgraded and rooted my Grand Duos i9082 (currently on Stock v4.1.2 AMB3), and was browsing through the "Root Explorer" app, when I noticed some folders under /mnt/ and /storage/ listed as UsbDriveA, UsbDriveB, UsbDriveC. I can connect a USB Flash drive to my phone, and use it as an external storage media? I believe this function is available on Samsung Note & S3 as an inbuilt function (i.e. without having to install any external application). I would like to know if the same function is available on my Grand Duos.

Oct 19, 2010I have been able to mount my phone (HTC Hero) as a hard drive using windows xp, but I started using Ubuntu 10.04 and when I plug in my phone it mounts for a few seconds and then either unmounts for good or unmounts and tries to remount right away. To add new ringtones or SMS alerts, connect your Hero to USB and mount the device on your PC. Browser to the following folders:
Ringtones: /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
SMS Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Alarm Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/alarms
However, I cannot find the media folder. Or maybe I have not even gotten to the sd card! I was able to add wallpapers and actually use them, so I did something right along the way.
So, if anyone wants to help a new android girl with this probably very basic task, please do!
I also synced all my contacts and my calendar from my GMail account. So, not 100% lame.

Jul 19, 2010At first, I believe there was a question that would pop up asking me whether I wanted to use youtube or not, but I must have said don't ask anymore, because I don't get that now (is there a way to get that question back?). Now when I click on a flash file, I get a choice to download or play. I click play, and the screen goes black. There is some sort of spinning 'loading' graphic, then I get a popup that says "Cannot play video Unable to connect to server". This happens on any of the major video sites.

May 21, 2010I have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

Aug 12, 2009I just got my Hero (which is also my first Android phone ) yesterday and I'm absolutely unable to properly install "HTC sync".I downloaded it from the HTC page carefully follwing the instructions, on a 32bit Vista (intel quad core+ 4 gig ddr2) and on a netbook (Msi wind + 2gig ddr2) with win XPsp3, but while everything on the phone's screen sems OK and it says that the phone is connectd via USB, the window of HTC sync has the "connect now " buttons grayed out, and the icon in the tray says "disconected".Itis a driver problem, because every time I try to install the drivers I get the message that says "Error" and that some files are missing.I am also unable to uninstall the drivers because I get the same message.I tried everything: the repair installation , to uninstall,and reinstall, but nothing seems to work.

Sep 13, 2009the connection via my wifi is intermittent at best - usually telling me page not available / connection error , occasionally it does connect but hangs up when searcging - the weather widgets / gmail update regularily . I have used the browser , google widget and downloaded mini opera - all same problem. Secondly , I havn't been able to view youtube vids and only minimal success with beeb player {this may be more to do with the connection dropping off but what I saw wasnt great quality.A nokia n95, which hadnt been used for web browsing until I tried it this morning, was fine browsing using the same wifi network & viewing iplayer.I so want to love this phone [ having rubbished my iphone / nokia friends ] but a quick look through the forums suggests there may be problems with Wi-Fi.

Today due to problems I have rested the phone to factory default AND installed a clean version of window vista home premium 32bit edition. I connected the htc to windows and nothing happened!! No notifications or anything, so i downloaded the latest HTC Sync and installed it, connected the phone and nothing happened. I want to get photos off the phone but can't at the moment.

Mar 7, 2010When I plug my HTC Hero (UK) into my laptop, it used to in the notifications bar offer me Mount SD Card (or something similar) and connect to HTC Sync. Now when I plug it in, all it does is charge the phone with neither of those things being offered. Can anyone tell me why my phone is doing this and how to rectify it? I don't want to do a hard reset as all my contacts are on my phone and sync, and if that doesn't solve the issue, then I wont be able to pull my contacts back onto the phone.
My PC also comes up with USB Device Not Recognized and says it is an unknown device. I'm not great with computers so I don't know if that's relevant or if it helps.
