But how do I set them up so that they appear as a selectable ringtone for a particular contact? Going to that contact, doing EDIT, and selecting ringtone does not show any of these new ringtones I downloaded?

View 7 Replies View Relatedwhen i download ringtones they come in as .dm files. how do i get them to work. i used to just go to the Internet and get them from the download history, but i lost all that when i ruled my phone. i have astro but can not play them from my card, so i can not add them as ringtones.
View 16 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. What is going on here? I have lookout AVP app loaded and running at all times.List on my runnng apps on EVO:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had the same ringtones on my past 3 phones, on my first 2(both samsungs) they sounded terrific, CD quality even. But on my Hero they sound like garbage! Is this because of the speaker? Or is there a better way to do it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple songs/ringtones/notifications that I would like to use. I want a single person within my contacts to have two different ringtones; one for when they call and one for when they send a message.
I can set the individual's ringtone within my people settings, I can set the default notification tone within my SMS program (still debating between ChompSMS and HandCent, suggestions?) Is it possible (as anyone knows) to set a notification for an individual within a SMS app while having it leave the default application notification alone as well as the custom ringtone within the phonebook settings I have set for individual people?
How can I turn off the default incoming ringtone, but allow personal ringtones to continue to function? I would like to specify what specific calls will cause my phone to ring.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of the HTC Hero and I tried to customize the ring tones and alarm sounds by using the directions provided by leaky on the tread "HTC Hero: Tips, Tricks & Useful Apps" but unfortunately this did not work out for my Hero. My SD card appeared as DCIM and I had to rename it to SD card and then on the MEDIA folder I added an AUDIO folder in which I added three separate files. One named ring tones, one named alarms and on named notifications as directions provided by thread. Then I added the appropriate .mp3 files to each folder while having the Hero plugged in with my PC.
