just a quick question, I exchange files via bluetooth for work purposes just wondering iff there is an application to send files to all types of phones as Im having problems sending photos, videos, music to various of phones i.e. Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung and so on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a number of users experiencing crashes with our apps on Hero type phones (hero, droid eris, etc.). After some debugging, it appears that they upgraded the app, but that the phone somehow cached the old version of the AndroidManifest. For instance, the app version is still reported as one less than the latest, and the crash is caused by the phone not seeing a new activity in the Manifest (which is true for the old version manifest, but the new manifest of course has the activity defined). This seems to be limited to Hero phones, but we've seen it on all types (tmeu hero, verizon desirec, etc.). Is there any way to fix this besides spending many characters of the limited description size on something like "Hero users: please uninstall before upgrading"? Will there be a Hero fix to fix this behavior?

I did some research and found that the .kl or key layout files in /system/usr/keylayout control this behavior. As an experiment I focused on disabling the WAKE property on just the VOLUME_UP key in every file where it appeared in that directory. I removed the .BAK files, rebooted, but VOLUME_UP still wakes the phone.
Owners of other phones report successes changing all sorts of buttons this way. Is the Commando overriding this somewhere else?
I'm unable to bluetooth files to non smart phones. is there and app for this? or another way to fix this?

Trying to figure what's wrong with my codings. I followed a blog post from here. I managed to get the codes to actually upload the file to a PHP web service. However, for some reason although I've set explicitly the MIME type for the file, PHP shows that the MIME is just a blank string and therefore rejected.

Today android phones are coming with an internal storage which is called the internal sdcard. Because of this the need for external sdcards is vanishing day by day. But when your phone is factory reset you lost all the data stored in it while in case of external sdcard you have an option to save your data. If you accidently lost all the data stored in your phone then don't worry I have a solution to get it back. This trick will work on phones having mass storage mode support, if you are running android 4.1 jellybean and above then root your phone to get mass storage( the tutorial is different for different phones),
If you have accidently lost all your files, photos and videos from your phone then after this do not copy new files to the phone. This also include clicking photos and capturing videos. If you copy new files to the phone then you are actually reducing your chances to get back your deleted photos and videos and other files. In short just don't download anything to your phone, do not use the internet on your phone till the time when you get back your lost files back.
This trick will only work on android phones having mass storage mode and MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) options. If your device is rooted then you can enable mass storage mode on your android phone. After enabling mass storage mode you can get back deleted photos, videos and all files from the internal storage of any android phone.
Requirements
1. Recuva for Windows 7, Windows 8
2. A USB data cable.
Now Follow The Steps Below
-Download and install recuva. While installation do not uncheck any option.
-Now connect your android phone in mass storage mode. Connect it to pc a notification will appear in the phone, tap it to enable mass storage.
-Now open My computer and you will see Removable disk.
-Open recuva and click Next, on the next step All Files will auto selected. Again click Next. Then choose In a specified location and click Browse.Choose the removable disk or MTP disk here and click Next.
-In next step put a check mark in Enable Deep Scan and click Start.
-After scan is finished you will see the list of all deleted files. Green circles is means that file can be recovered while red circle means unrecoverable file.
-Now check the box next to Filename to select all files. Click Recover on the bottom right and choose Desktop .Your deleted files will be recovered.

I'm talking wirelessly obviously. I don't enjoy hooking up my sync cable.
I haven't used MMS much. I use Android (CM 7.1) and from what I can tell at least using built-in "Messaging" application one can only send pictures, sound files (AKA "ringtones"), videos and contacts.
Is there a way to send other file types? TXT or PDF for instance? I was able to select "Picture", then use third party file manager to select PDF file but then messaging application said something along "this is not a valid picture file" and rejected it.
So, I installed the N1 News and Weather App and find it to be awesome!
My question...are there any other apps from the N1 or other android phones that will work on the Hero?
I just rooted the phone, what are some new apps that I can play with?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I first plugged in my ear phones into my first Hero phone after a while (5 min) the songs shuttled and turned itself off. I tried to listen to some music again but the phone didn?t recognise that the ear phones were plugged in after that. I sent that phone back and got a new phone. I was going to wait until 2.1 OS came out but when I heard that it wasn?t coming out till March I thought I might try this new phone out been as though I have had it for a couple of months without listening to any music (expected the same though). And the same happen again. It sounds like its the 1.5 OS or the ROM not updated yet because I had already set up all the phone before I realised I had to do this. So thats why I decided to wait until 2.1 and get it all over with and hope it solves the problem.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI'll number these questions to make answering easier. 1) I'm only looking at GSM phones, I'm thinking about buying the hero on ebay next week. I'm wondering if I should wait for the GSM moto droid or a GSM htc passion. Or just get the hero now. The benifits of waiting for me personally is faster hardware, and better screen/resolution. The downfalls of waiting is I could be waiting a long time for a GSM version of those phones. 2) The biggest thing that concerns me is about buying the hero is performance. I have a iphone 2g and what pisses me off about it is the performance, and that it has no multitasking. If I get the hero I don't want the performance to bother me. I have no issues if I need taskiller to close a few apps every now and then to keep the performance good. I'd like to know if performance is a real problem, or just a minor annoyance. 3) Is the "jump to letter" feature in the music player? for example can I jump to the music artists that begin with Y, instead of scrolling from the top all the way down? 4) Is there a button to show your currently running apps? or your most recent apps? If so, which is it? running or recent? Can you launch apps from that screen? 5) Is the warranty on the European GSM hero valid in the United States? Is the warranty card that comes with the phone used for anything? do you need it to have a warranty on your phone? What does it say on it?
