View 3 RepliesI have my EVO as my personal phone. Now my employer is talking about getting us all a work phone. They haven't settled on which phone or even platform yet. They were just asking us which we'd prefer. The general consensus was Android and Blackberry as the two finalist. That just got me to wondering if I were to have a second android phone could I just use the same Gmail account.Would the email/calendar/contacts all sync to both phones?

I have 2 phones and I don't want to pay twice for an application on the market. Is there a way to share an application I have downloaded and payed for, once, onto the other phone?
I plan the weekend trip. My friend ask me to share the photo while trip. I can take the picture with my smartphone, and 3G internet connection is available on my phone. Is there a photo sharing application?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a task here: Share 200 contacts between 200 android phones as easy as possible. Is this possible without having a google account? I have found some apps with backup and import options, but then I would need to add a Google account.I will configure one phone with all contacts, and preferably send some kind of file to all of the other users.
Phone: Samsung galaxy xcover.
Users: Elderly people
Create 1 google account, add contacs, tell all users to sign up with the same account. 200 phones running the same google account.
I am about to activate a Droid for my wife, and I would to set her up with her own Google account for email, contacts and such, but be able to download apps using my Google Checkout account and be able to install my purchased apps. Is there a way to do this? I know this is available in the iOS world. I was hoping the same thing would be available in the Android world.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a solution to connect one android phone to another over bluetooth to share voice and maybe data service. What I want to do is use my old Dell Streak as a GPS/media player in my car without having service to it. I would like it to connect to my current phone so I can make call through it, like a headunit with hands free bluetooth calling. I'm not so much worried about data, though it would be a plus but I don't think Android supports connecting to ad-hoc networks. I can't seem to find any app that supports this, and I'm not seeing anywhere on the Android system where this is possible. I haven't owned a car stereo that supports bluetooth calling so I'm not sure what to look for.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to make a nightly job that moves photos from my SD card to a share on my home network. I have tasker and can set it to turn on wifi at a certain time, however tasker can only move a file if it is given a specific file name. It doesn't seem to be able to move all files in a specific directory (unless I am mistaken).

The other day I took some video, and wanted to share it, but it was too big to fit in an email message
Would a file sharing app via bluetooth work?

AFileShare(was named as "discover") is a mobile file manager application that allows you to manage, store, view and transfer files with other computers or GPhones, within the same Wi-Fi network. It also allows you to access local or public servers on the Internet, both within or without Wi-Fi connections.

Can i share one application related data with another. Say I have a music file in resources/raw folder of apk2. Can I use the same file in apk1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI write Android apps, distributed via the Market. A user has written asking whether they can have the raw .apk of one app (they're in a country where the Market isn't available).
Is it safe to do this, or do I risk getting ripped off in some way - having my app copied and redistributed, for example?
Can I share a library between two applications/apks where it is packed with any one of it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an EVO and an ipod touch. Is there a way to stream my music I installed on my 64GB sdcard on my evo to my 8gb itouch? I have been tethering my touch with my evo and wanted to listen to my larger collection I have on the Evo. Thanks
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to share media between users in Android 4.2.2 (Nexus 10)? I mean sharing a large number of photos and movies, something without online connection (no dropbox/drive). A solution without duplicating the files in each account is highly preferred.
I know /sdcard/Android/obb folder is shared, I used it to transfer large files between the accounts. But it is not recognized by Media Scanner / Gallery. Links are not working for me (I tried both - symbolic and hard link, ln -s reports Function not implemented, ln alone Operation not permitted. Not mentioning that root shell doesn't see the content of obb (strange)). Folder sync seems not to work either (even though it states 4.2.2 is supported).
I would like to be able to share my ethernet internet connection on my android 2.2 tablet via wifi.
I know there are various app's on phones that allow you to share your 3g connection but I have not found anything that I can actually install that will create the same sort of functionality on my tablet, most of the ones I've seen on the play store are simple short cuts giving control over the pre-existing wifi hotspot app.
What I need is the wifi hotspot itself, ie the ability to use my tablet as a router/bridge.
I would like to share a cache file across activities, which are running in different processes but in a same application. So, is there any way to make it thread safe (probably not "thread safe", should we call it "activities safe" or "process safe" ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAm trying to drag/drop files from my Droid to my PC and back but cannot figure this out to save my life. I want to do it via wifi, not bluetooth. I DL es file explore but I cannot get my PC to recognize my Droid like it would if I connected via USB and mounted. How in the world do I get it so I can swap files back and forth? ES keeps asking for a password and I have no clue what password it wants. I did my initial logon password and it got me in but past that it's a no go. Not to mention the biggest prob is trying to get the PC to recognize it has the Droid connected and looking at files on its network. I'm using Vista and am rooted using Droidmod.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've just loaded some mp3 files onto my Nexus 7.
My daughter has an account on the same device and I'd like to give her 'read only' access to the mp3 library in my account (rather than loading the same files into her account and wasting space with 'duplicate mp3' files).
None of the file manager apps I've tried so far seem to have the ability of setting file permissions.
Ok, so I have a problem, I have only one cable and two computers, one with the wifi antena and no option for cable and other with cable and no antena, so I guess my question here is can I share my cable computers internet to my android phone and then can my android phone tether it through wifi, so my laptop can connect to it? View 1 Replies View RelatedI travel a lot for my job, constantly staying in hotels. I bring my Xbox with me. Connecting to hotel wifi can be a real pain, especially when you have to "log in" with the hotels username and password. What I mean by this is: The network is an unsecured network, but you have to log in on the browser. This can't be done on an Xbox. Usually I resort to just using my phones hot spot, but its a real drag on my data limit.
is it possible to connect to the hotels wifi on my phone and then rebroadcast that signal to my Xbox?
TLR Is it possible to connect to wifi on my phone and then rebroadcast said wifi signal so that I can connect with my Xbox? I'm not sure what the proper technical term for this would be. Bridge?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to just plug the phone into the computer via USB and a drive letter would appear and I would be able to easily move files off the phone and to my computer.
Now when I plug the phone in Media Share pops up with numerous menus and sub menus. Best I've been able to figure out to do is copy one individual file at a time to some mystery folder somewhere on my network. Or using DLNA it opens up Windows Media Player on my computer which shows previews of the photos but no way to transfer the actual files.
