View 5 RepliesThis may have been asked but I can't find what I am looking for in search.Anyway, we have 2 droid phones, we want to use them in the house in a hands-free phone mode, with some sort of external speakers.I found some blueant speakers for cars, and was recommended this one S1 Sun Visor model.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot get files to transfer via bluetooth, either to another phone or to my car kit (ie/ contact lists, v cards). when i called for help i was told 1 - check with your network provider. (uhm, bluetooth doesn't utilize the network...) 2- the upgrade to 2.1 has caused many of the products to be unable to sync to other devices (well, the speaker works, i just can't transfer files. oh, that is odd - not a helpful reply) and 3 - try a factory reset. (how about, no. every time i've tried that nothing is fixed and i'm back to square one and having to reload all of my programs and data).it's been determined that my settings are correct. has anyone else found this issue and been able to overcome it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've wasted 30 min of life trying to send files to my tattoo then i google and read one message on this forum WHY? why why why? what were they thinking of? in my past experience, i've found motorola phones to have some really really dumb illogical ways of doing things! this is my first htc phone i was liking it so far but this bluetooth thing is winding me up! question: what's the best way of getting a file transferred. I was trying to transfer a pdf - assuming in advance that I'll be able to read pdfs!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle? By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.
Once I've downloaded an app from the market, Handcent for example, is there a way of getting the .apk off the phone and onto my computer?

1) decide which notifications I get...for example I don't need my phone to let me know I have FB messages or updates or emails...I'll check that on my own, but VM and missed calls I'd like to get a notification(tone and flash deal)
2) How do I shut off the vibrations when I'm touching the phone in any way? I don't really need it to vibrate at all...never been a fan of that
I plan on letting the battery drain down all the way before fully charging it back up, and my husband and I are getting the nifty better batteries too.I just want to remove any unnecessary(totally spelled wrong) things...And I did install an app killer.what is the concencus on this? Should I just uninstall it? I don't use a lot of these things so I thought it would be good to kill some apps unless I need them on demand.
I am implementing a language conversion tool, to convert Spanish to English, on a variety of smart phones: Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Phone 7.
How do I implement language conversions? Searching, I am not finding a tutorial about this, and I don't having any experience with this.
Has anyone managed to send files via bluetooth on the Desire? I'm able to receive without any issues, but cannot get a file sent to a macbook or Nokia mobile. I'm trying Bluetooth File Transfer, Explorer and Astro to do so and nothing seems to happen.

All the phone shows is the device in the list with "paired but not connected" under it.Wifi is off, phone is discoverable. Is it the bluetooth on the phone at fault or the headunit?Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Can anyone give some solution on how it works?
Well, this is my first post and as the title states i finally took the step to buy a smart phone and the old Nokia 6120 classic is headed for the drawer.I was tossing up between the Iphone and the HTC Desire. Not really wanting to be an Isheep and after reading all the good reviews of the Desire on the net i decided to go with it. First up i'll address the main point i was worried about..... battery life.
All the people saying they get less than a day with theirs made me worry. But after thinking about my usage compared to others i decided it would hopefully be fine. After getting mine about 5 days ago and charging it up overnight i can say that i didn't really have anything to worry about got through my first day (Friday) with a couple of phone calls, played around with it for half an hour at lunchtime, then probably another hour or two of constant use when i got home playing with the settings, widgets etc. It then continued trucking on till the following day (Saturday) where i played around for another hour or so in the morning until about 11am when it started to get low. That was when the battery warning came up on the screen. So i got about 30 hours out of it on the first charge and by the sounds of some other posts this will get a bit better. Without all the time messing around with the new toy and the battery settling in id say i'll be getting at least 2 days without a charge in the future. I realize other people use theirs a whole lot more at work but i have a radio in my car i listen to on the way to work so no mp3 needed and a phone in the office i use, but if your like me and just a casual user to make a few calls and send a few texts, check the weather out and surf the net a bit it will be fine. I realize that im not using it to its full potential, but thats fine with me. Code...
My understanding is that the GPS refresh rate for the Android phones (and most phones in general?) is 1 HZ (once a second). I read on a forum for a paid app that I use on my Hero that there's talk that 2.0 or 2.1 or possibly even just a future release will support the use of Bluetooth GPS receivers with will allow for the 5HZ GPS refresh rate or even newer standards as they come out.Has anyone else heard this or know of any more details related to this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor my application i make a bluetooth discovery search to list all available bluetooth device in. If I'm in a room with a lot of computers etc, there is a really long list. So I'd like to filter Android phones from the lists. So I'm able to filter some devices like laptops, computers, etc.Does anybody know what are the possible constants which android phones can have? I don't want to risk to filter too many devices, but I also want to limit the list to only Android devices.

bluetooth some of my photos from my old phones onto the Hero please?
I know it is possible to tether android tablet to an android phone via bluetooth so the tablet can use phone internet. Is it possible to do the same with two android phones? I know it's doable over wi-fi, but bluetooth uses less battery.
in this specific case two phones in question are thunderbold and incredible. thunderbolt is rooted, incredible is not but I can root it if needed to make this work.
so ive been playing alot of emus on my phone now and heard about the wiimote app and went to try it out but its not finding my blue tooth is there a fix to this... also is it possible to change my bt address to 30:30:30:30:30:30 so i can sync with pairing code 000000.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a newly rooted Casio G'zone Commando, build M100, running 2.3.3.I wanted to prevent the volume button from waking up the phone. (turning the screen on)
I did some research and found that the .kl or key layout files in /system/usr/keylayout control this behavior. As an experiment I focused on disabling the WAKE property on just the VOLUME_UP key in every file where it appeared in that directory. I removed the .BAK files, rebooted, but VOLUME_UP still wakes the phone.
Owners of other phones report successes changing all sorts of buttons this way. Is the Commando overriding this somewhere else?
