I'm having an issue with the calendar no longer sending me notifications of my events. At the beginning of the quarter (~25 September), it had no problems informing me of my events. Sometime around October however, it ceased to do this and I fear it may be affecting some of the conditions of my other application, Locale. Has anyone else had this problem, or know a solution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I just got Droids, after laboring far too long with PPC-6800s. Obviously, the Droid is better. However, one feature that we both really miss from the 6800 is the "beam" feature. In short, you can beam contacts and calendar events from phone to phone and they automatically show up in the appropriate place.Is there something that is functionally similar with the Droid?I tried Bluetooth File Sharing, but I never got it to work right for contacts or events (I can send generic files to the SD card). I have gotten contacts to share properly using barcode scanner, but I still can't get the calendar appointments/events to share using anything. Any ideas?Yes, I know we could use the same Google Calendar, but we both really use the calendar function, and neither of us need to know 90% of what the other is doing, but it was REALLY convenient to just "beam" an event to make sure we're both on the same page.

But when i sync them to the hero using the HTC Sync software, they all get the setting of notifying me.what am i doing wrong?I dont want to get the alarm for each and every thing i have entered in my calendar,just the selected ones.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI know you can individually select and delete calendar events, but what about all those accumulating events that have come and gone and still reside in memory? There does not seem to be any easy way to "Delete Old Events" like most phones have.It seems that ancient events continue to stay in memory unless you individually, one-by-one, go through and painstakingly delete each one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I sync my Sprint HTC Hero with Windows Vista (using HTC Sync version 2.0.8), I get the following error message: "The application com.android.providers.calendar (process com.htc.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I also get this message occasionally when I'm not syncing. It doesn't seem to prevent my Hero from syncing new calendar events, but the error message is annoying. Anyone have an idea why I'm getting it and what I can do about it?

Calendar notifications - When on lock screen and an appointment notification appears, my only options are to snooze or drag-to-dismiss. What I'd like to do is open the item, then have the options to snooze or dismiss. This is especially important when there are lots of appointments in the calendar.
The phone dialer - Any way of turning off the key sounds when using the phone dialer, nothing worse than having to enter a long number with boop-beep-bip-boop-boop-beep all the time.
I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

While I was looking through it, all of the little tabs disappeared and I have no idea what days I have events unless I go into the actual calendar app. Is there any way to keep them there permanently?

I noticed this first with reminders (not very useful to have a reminder that doesn't bring itself to your attention!) but then realized that no other notifications are coming up.
IIRC you used to be able to set high/low/off priority to notifications, but that was taken away at some point.

just got the phone a week ago.i'm using Google Calendar exclusively for all my date keeping. it's great to see that the default calendar apps sync with google calendar (GC)now, in GC (the web version) i set up the default reminders for new appointments to be a) email and b) sms.i noticed that, in order to get notifications on my PHONE as well, i need to add c) pop up to it. tested and that seems to work fine. will that pop up show anywhere else as well though? i never used that notification option before.and i noticed the following two annoying things:
1) default appointment notifications not set when appointment made using phone calendar application
when i make a new appointment from my PHONE, it shows up on the web version after a sync, that's all very cool. BUT then the appointment does not get assigned the default notification options (email and SMS), it only has pop up. any way to work around that? can't seem to find options for that.
2) when appointment made via application, web version of the appointment shows me as a GUEST who has confirmed that's a bit rubbish?! i.e. the experience is totally different from the appointments i set using the web version of GC.
I am running on the HTC EVO and as soon as I got my phone I set up my Gmail account through the automatic setup process. I used android market to get the Gmail widget (the one where the icon has the message coming out of the envelope and it looks like a red 'M'). That was working fine and I was getting my e-mails without any problems.The other day, I was tinkering with settings and I set up the HTC Mail widget, which I (stupidly) linked to the same Gmail account. I started to receive double notifications for my e-mails. I quickly realized I preferred the Gmail widget I was using previously, so I removed my account from the HTC Mail widget.So, my problem is that I no longer receive any notifications from the original Gmail widget when I get new e-mails. In fact, I no longer receive any notifications when I get e-mails. I have gone through all the settings I could find and all notifications are set to update automatically and alert me. The only thing I have not yet done is the account reset because this says I will have to reset my phone to factory settings and I don't want to lose everything I have on it at this point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.
Being a long time OUTLOOK user on my Windows PC, I am use to my previous smartphone syncing these items with my phone. As of now, I see there is a google sync app, but unfortunately this doesn't work with the latest Office 2010 Public Beta. I have yet to hear of a time frame when support will be announced. So it looks like I am no solution running Outlook 2010 any syncing anything to my phone.
What are users on here doing for a desktop to droid sync for your TODO/Calendar, etc? I like Google Calendar, just don't like having to open a web browser on my pc to access my calendar.
On my HTC Incredible, since day 1 and after the updates (including Froyo) I am not able to see the names of events on my calendar in any of the calendar views except the "Today" view.All I see is the rectangle graphics depicting some event is taking place but inside the rectangle the event name is not displayed forcing me to open every event to what it is from the Calendar application.Therefore,I have to resort to using the Agenda widget to scroll through event names by date to get a quick overview. I haven't gotten my hands on someone else's Incredible to verify if this is just the way it is on this phone, but I would venture to guess not.I've used and seen plenty of Blackberry's and used to looking at weekly calendar views and all of the event names and their times/duration laid out graphically (with the event names in the rectangles).

There was no notification what the alert was or anything. Only reason I knew it was that event is because it popped up in Outlook on my PC as well. i have a HTC Desire and although i used to get them at first i am no longer getting the notifications when apps are ready for update, i have the settings clicked to alert me but i have had several apps needed updates recently and none gave me the notification, has any body else had this issue and how can it be resolved, not a majot issue but just frustrating.
