HTC Droid Eris :: Youtube Subscriptions On 2.1 ROM
Mar 5, 2010has anyone else noticed that with the 2.1 youtube app on the eris ROM if you go to my account and then your subscriptions you can't watch the videos of your subscriptions there? is that because the ROM hasn't been registered or something because it worked just fine with 1.5 (when you could get the videos to actually play).

Apr 19, 2010Under 1.5, I can't see the new videos of my subscriptions on the YouTube app. Is this just a problem under 1.5 and does 2.1 fix this? Also, the YouTube app only shows like 15 of my subscriptions.

Sep 19, 2013why my SMS text messages no longer appear in one thread. I'm running Android 4.2.1 and when I get a reply from a person that I sent an SMS text message to it appears separate and not in same text thread if that makes sense.
There doesn't appear to be any settings to deal with this.
HTC EVO 4G :: No Longer Receiving E-mail Notifications
Jun 18, 2010I am running on the HTC EVO and as soon as I got my phone I set up my Gmail account through the automatic setup process. I used android market to get the Gmail widget (the one where the icon has the message coming out of the envelope and it looks like a red 'M'). That was working fine and I was getting my e-mails without any problems.The other day, I was tinkering with settings and I set up the HTC Mail widget, which I (stupidly) linked to the same Gmail account. I started to receive double notifications for my e-mails. I quickly realized I preferred the Gmail widget I was using previously, so I removed my account from the HTC Mail widget.So, my problem is that I no longer receive any notifications from the original Gmail widget when I get new e-mails. In fact, I no longer receive any notifications when I get e-mails. I have gone through all the settings I could find and all notifications are set to update automatically and alert me. The only thing I have not yet done is the account reset because this says I will have to reset my phone to factory settings and I don't want to lose everything I have on it at this point.

Oct 6, 2010I'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.

Aug 6, 2010i have a HTC Desire and although i used to get them at first i am no longer getting the notifications when apps are ready for update, i have the settings clicked to alert me but i have had several apps needed updates recently and none gave me the notification, has any body else had this issue and how can it be resolved, not a majot issue but just frustrating.

May 3, 2010I checked to see if I have the cell standby 50% bug and I do. My up time is 11:34:50, my awake time is 3:47:48, but if I look at the cell standby it says time on 14:42:16. How can the cell standby thing be a longer time than my phone has been on? I did the leak 2 days ago, so it's not showing that time or anything.

Oct 4, 2010My Eris is just no longer working as a phone. The only place I get good signal strength is at the Verizon store. I think the radio is dying because the other 3 Eris droids in my house (wife and 2 kids) all show 15 - 20 dB higher (less negative) signal strength.
I went to VZW store for some help and all they could do was #228 option 1 and *228 option 2 and recommend that I get a task killer app and use it 3 times a day.
So, anybody know how to get past the sales side and get to somebody that can determine if the phone is broke?
Data and apps all work fine, I get 3G everywhere, and it's rooted (so is the wife's) using XTRROM 4.2(me) XTRSense 4.2 (wife) - kids not rooted.
HTC Droid Eris : Installed MR2 - But Can No Longer Install Certain Apps
Jan 10, 2010I installed MR2 a few days ago rather than waiting on the OTA update. Now I can't download a couple paid apps from the Market that I had previously paid for. WeatherBug Elite is one of them, it doesn't even show up when I do a search in the Market.
Some searching turned up a similar issue on other HTC devices on another carrier, something about an OS foot print? Is there a way to get around this? It's pretty obnoxious.

HTC Droid Eris :: No Longer Gets Hot Or Eats Battery But Can't Sync Google Contacts
Jul 9, 2010So, like many of you, my phone would occasionally get hot, and the battery would just zoom down to nothing. Usually this was just intermittent, and a restart would cure it.On June 10, it was happening, and persisted despite restarts, battery pulls, etc. I finally found that the problem was google trying to sync contacts. It was having some problem and cycling forever. When I unchecked the google contacts sync in the accounts preference panel, problem stopped. My battery life has never been better. Routinely getting 18-20 hrs or more.BUT I want to sync my google contacts! Every time I trial re-checking that box, it cycles and cycles, every few seconds giving a little error at the bottome of the screen (in prefs) "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".I have 700-something contacts (Only 250 real "My Contacts" but another 500 or so auto-created contacts from gmail use.Presumably one of those entries has some corruption, but I can't figure out which, and I don't want to potentially lose all the contacts.I have seen that for some people this was fixed by factory reset and resync, but then the problem came back a few weeks later.
HTC Droid Eris : How To Extend Battery Life Thread
Dec 4, 2009Ok. I know there are a few other (older) threads about this. I haven't even got my Eris yet, but will be getting it Saturday. I've read through the the how to extend battery life thread. I have yet to look at the tips and tricks thread though.
Anyways, what I would like to know is what are the "Must have" apps. What should I do with it right out of the box? Anything particular I should know/expect?
I hope this will be a pleasant experience, it's my first Android phone (first smartphone actually) although I do have an iPod Touch, so I hope that will shorten the learning curve.

Jan 20, 2010FYI, the slot cycle defines how often the device wakes up and checks the CDMA network for messages, incoming calls, etc. This does not effect the throughput of a data connection. It will only improve responsiveness for catching incoming calls and messages from the network.Each increment in settings doubles or haves the interval time. Slot cycle 0 wakes the device to check the paging channel every 1.28s. 1 is every 2.56, 2 is 5.12s, etc.Only thing you are doing is using more battery.any other observations are a placebo.

Dec 11, 2009A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?

Nov 30, 2009So iv downloaded some pictures from Dolphin Browser using Google Images. Now every time the browser launches, I get notifications that my image downloads are complete. Is there any way to get rid of them? I hit "Clear Notifications" but that's only temporary. Its not that big of an issue but it's kinda bother some and it makes my top bar look really cluttered.
