Just wondering if anyone has got the 2.1 update on the 3 network in the UK yet?Obviously if no one else has it who is on 3 I would presume it's not out. It's just that I hear a lot of people now talking about upgrading to 2.1 and was curious if was out mine Not too fussed if not, I can wait, just be nice to know.

I have an X10 Mini that when new was locked to the Orange UK network but I have since unlocked (but not unbranded) it and now use a different network. Which Android 2.1 update will I need? Generic, Orange or the new network provider? If it is the generic one will this also have the benefit of unbranding the phone and getting rid of Orange apps? If it is the Orange upgrade will the phone become locked to their network again and require unlocking again?I need the phone to stay unlocked for the future.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had been using Fresh Rom 2.0d by flipz since last night, and got everything setup, last night I had trouble updating the Profile and PRL so this morning I tried it again and succeeded the PRL update, unfortunately right after the PRL update the Sprint Network never came back. I can ROAM when I switch off Sprint Only but no Sprint Network.What can I do to resolve the issue? Tried resetting the phone to no help, pulled the battery and reset, also attempted to update PRL and Profile again but without Service it won't do either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone earlier today to jelly bean 4.3. Since then, I have stopped receiving network. The EMEI number doesn't show in the device info either. Tried restarting, taking out the sim card and putting it back in. Nothing works. It says this right after restarting, "currently unable to download, try again later". I bought my phone from Qatar and I am currently using it in UK (t-mobile) if that makes any difference, but it was working perfectly fine before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe last couple of days I've noticed I can't browse or update apps like Android Facebook, Android Twitter and Google Mail and can't browse the Market when I'm connected to the mobile network on 3. This happens even when the notification tray has the H or G symbol and up- and downstream icons are animating. I've checked through the Mobile Network settings and can't see that I've changed anything by accident. The strange thing is the Friend Stream updates when I'm connected to the mobile network.
Does anybody know what I might be missing?
I have recently updated to KitKat 4.4.2. Now my phone isnt able to connect to my mobile data network. Internet access is only possible on WiFi now.

Since I only have 250 MB included in my plan, I would much rather have the phone on wifi only when I'm at home Problem is, when I turn data network back on, it says "network not available". The only workaround seems to be turning the phone off completely and rebooting. SLOW.By the way, this happens both with the excellent app Quick Settings and the normal Parameters Phone App.I saw someone having similar issues regarding Wifi On/Offwith a Sprint Hero.

I would like to know if an Android application can open a network connection (socket) on a specified network interface [on a device supporting multiple network interface types WiFi, Cellular, WiMax etc] ? I am looking for the capability for an application to open a socket on a given type of network for example over WiFi network or over 3G Cellular Data network.
If this is possible in Android, how would I code this requirement within the API Framework ? The ConnectivityManager enables an application to learn about available network connections and currently categorises them as either TYPE_WIFI or TYPE_MOBILE.
There is a member function in the ConnectivityManager class called requestRouteToHost(int,int) [url] which "Ensure that a network route exists to deliver traffic to the specified host via the specified network interface. An attempt to add a route that already exists is ignored, but treated as successful." Sounds like this would install an IP routing table entry to reach a given host via a specified network interface type (WiFi or Mobile). After calling this would it be sufficient for an application to open a socket and connect to the desired destination address ?
Or perhaps the application needs to bind() a socket to a local address of a network interface of the desired type (WiFi or Mobile) Or by setting a socket-level socket option of SO_DONTROUTE ?
I can see there is some old threads about auto updates, but I cant find any answers.
I wonder if there is a way to auto update all my applications. I take too much time go to marked, downloads and manually update 1 by 1..
I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I
i got a new htc her and my network provider did the APN settings everything seem to work fine, mails, google mail, facebook , twitter - all services work well on both 3G and WIFI.ONLY THE BROWSER WORKS ON WIFI AND NOT ON THE 3G when i open browser on 3g it tells me PAGE NOT AVAILABLE.

Ive tried turning it on and off, removing battery and sim but nothing is working.
