Searching here, it seems all results are from the Droid root forum, so I'm curious as to whether any rooted Eris users are using the ClockworkMod ROM Manager. I'm getting that itchy finger where I want to fool with things again, and it seems like a nice utility, but it's a little off-putting when I find few Eris-related results when researching the application. If it matters, I went the 1.5 -> rooted 2.1 route.

I recently rooted my Motorola Droid and I am trying to run Rom Manager by clockworkmod and when i attempt to Flash Clockworkmod Recovery I get an error saying, "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!" Can someone offer me some help on what to do, I have tried uninstalling and turning the phone off.

Installed Free & Paid ROM Manager from Market and allowed for Ads (wanna support you guys as much as I can)
1. How do I actually flash a new ROM?
-I think I installed it correctly but would someone mind going over the process?
2. Why do I only see Cyanogenmod? Should their be more? Or is this it?
3. I can simply place any ROM onto the SD card in root and flash through ClockWork, correct?
Side question. How manageable is the overclock/undervolt kernel. Worth putting on? Not 'ready' yet?
Had an issue with Rom Manager. Just installed it on my rooted S-off with Cyanogenmod 6 dinc and it is not recognizing that I already have Clockworkmod recovery flashed. It is telling me to do it again, however I have read in a few spots that with S-on it is just fine allow Rom Manager to reflash it but with S-off this could be an issue. If I allow Rom Manager to reflash clockworkmod when I already have it on my phone will it be a problem?

View 49 Replies View RelatedTo try ROM Manager and ClockworkMod Recovery because it is "obviously superior" in every way, shape and form. So, why so many updates ... especially for CwMod? And why does it seem that every other "update" causes something to break? And why is it that every time I tap on "Reboot into Recovery", it NEVER works. I have yet to have it boot into Recovery even once. It reboots, and that's it. O joy. I have the 'Boot Control' widget that boots into recovery each and every time, without fail.
So far, I'm not too awfully impressed. Sure I see the added functionality. But I'm also experiencing more than my share of FAIL.
The great Koush has updated the great ROM Manager App and says that it should greatly reduce "broken" recoveries because recovery will not need to be reflashed every ROM switch or wipe. View 7 Replies View RelatedI know similar topics regarding ClockworkMod/ROM Manager have been discussed, but I'm having a new issue and can't seem to find any info about it. Here's my issue: My backups don't work. When I try to flash one I'm being told there is an "MD5 mismatch." This happens when I try to restore any of my backups - including one I just made about an hour ago. I'm in the middle of flashing the newest Liquid Frozen Yogurt ROM and I goofed while restoring some things. I wanted to go back to v1.71 and start over, but I'm getting that error message. Perhaps not coincidentally, I have been unable to make any backups straight from ROM Manager. Nothing would happen. It isn't like the issues many of us have had in the past where it would appear to be booting into recovery and then just reboot. This time nothing happens at all. So my most recent backup was made by manually booting into recovery and going from there. I'm a little concerned. Any thoughts?
When I was having the issue using ROM Manager to make backups, I tried the old trick of flashing SPRecovery and then re-flashing ClockworkMod. Still didn't do anything.
why Rom manager doesnt recognize the ClockWorkMod 5.0.0.8 installed on htc sensation 4G??? if i click download Rom or backup Rom it tells me that i need the clockworkmod installed first , but i already have it.

View 24 Replies View Relatedfollowing the directions in the sticky, it says to download the sdk package manager (what ever its called) then install the sdk's for 1.5 2.1 and the usb drivers. then says go to device manager and find the little exclamation, then when i select the usb drivers to install from the device manager it wont allow me. i have two in the directory they are i386 and amd64 neither of them work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded a file manager (two, actually - deciding which one I like best), but in accessing my SD card, I notices a bunch of folders with nothing in them. I'm wondering if this is possibly due to when I switched from my Motorola Droid, they allowed me to take that 16 gb card and put it in my Eris since I had some downloads and photos on it (and, yes, I had to buy a replacement 16 gb card for the Droid, so now I have an extra 8 gig card just laying around doing nothing). So I was wondering, does anyone else have these files? Are they safe to delete? Should I delete them or just leave them? Here is the "tree." I've indented sub folders five spaces and put in parenthesis if the folder/subfolder contains any files/info.

Not a huge deal, but it's annoying. I'm wondering what is causing it to change. Maybe an app? Anyone with audio manager experience this?
I just noticed that Astro has a built-in task killer. (Please no more about if we NEED a task killer) What I like about the killer on astro is that it lets me see how much memory and cpu a task or process is actually using before I kill it. I rarely use a task killer. Only when a task seems to be hanging up. It looks like Astro has the functionality I need, so I will remove Advanced Task Killer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is for all of you who are having troubles getting your application "Wireless Tether for Root Users" to work. I personally kept getting an error on which would say "Initializing WiFi Interface: Failed." I have since been able to get it to work. Here's how.
Disclaimer: Obviously you need a rooted phone for this to work, We're in Root forums for a reason. You will also need the Amon Recovery Partition.
Steps:
1. Boot phone into Recovery by holding Volume Up + Power (End Button).
2. Wipe phone of all data.
3. Flash to the 0_3 rom, install Astro File Manager from the Market
4. Download and install file from below and place into phones SD card.
5. Install from Astro by opening it in App Manger, Open up application and enjoy!

Anyway I can exclude Home from this. It doesn't appear to be an option in my Apps list when i open Advanced Task Manager
I have YET to receive a single email from androidforums.com when I use "Instant Email Notification" for thread replies.
My phone is low on memory, when I open my app manager it shows my mail app is using 59mb of memory. I have erased all mail and cleared the cache with no change. I am running android 2.1

I have gotten as far as installing the SDK and running unrEVOked. unrEVOked runs without issue, and completes, claiming that it is "Done." However, when the phone reboots, it fails to go into the recovery partition.
If i reboot the phone while holding down the "volume down" and "power" keys, I get a white boot loder menu. If I select the recovery option, the phone scren goes to a white HTC logo,a nd subsequently turns black, leaving to vertical white bars up either side of the screen.
I have tried placing the clockworkmod zip and img files at the root of the SD card and updating the recovery flash using the boot loader, but I continue to get this black screen.
Trying to do a back up of my ROM with the new clockworkmod and it hangs up at Generating md5 sum.... wont do anything untill i pull battery. anyone else get this error?
