I want to backup my SD card every time I connect it to a computer.
I want this in case i lose my phone and SD card completely. I have insurance to replace everything but the data can't be bought.
Is there a way to set this up on my computer or through my Droid X?

I am a very proud owner of an EVO and never had a phone that utilizes an SD card. Is making directories as simple as adding a folder when it is connected to the computer? I want to create separate folders ringtones, music, and videos, and thought some of you Android veterans would have the answer.

Lately, I've noticed it has been having connection issues. I start the hotspot, my laptop "sees" it. And I can connect (shows "connected" in the wifi window next to "FoxFi" on laptop). But, at the top of the same wifi window, it also shows (under "Currently connected to:"), "No internet access" (or something - connected right now on different wifi network, so I can't get the exact wording). But I hope this is clear.
Why this weird contradiction? One part of the window says I'm connected, the other says I'm not.
Please point me in the right direction for easy tutorial on backing up entire contents of sd card to computer, then putting back on after I do a partition.

I know this may sound simple but am under the impression that when you make a backup of your ROM and other files on your device, it has to stay on the device.
When making a NANDROID backup, is it safer and more useful if one can store those backups on one's computer ?
Am sure there's a way to do this but am not sure if there's already an app for it.
I am currently extending my media center setup. Right now it is Windows-based, and I have used a lot of app/server combinations to control Media Player/Media Center, which I am pretty happy with.
Now my problem is that I have bought an iPod dock that just connects the iPod via USB to my HTPC, which makes it possible to directly and 100 % digitally play music from the iPod. I have been looking for an app/server combination to remotely control the iPod playback from my Android device, but haven't found anything. There are a lot of apps to remote control iTunes, but which can also control an iPod connected via USB?
Using Windows 7 - can change to Linux if that will do it, 32/64 bit doesn't matter. HTC Desire Z using Android 2.3 or 4.0 doesn't matter what is required - I just want to find a way of doing this.
(If the app/server combination also will control Media Player/Media Center, it is a plus, but not a requirement as I already have another app for that.)
What is the reason that some charger make the phone thinks is connected to a computer. I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.
View 4 Replies View Relatedone is clearly the folder for my actual sdcard (sdcard2) and the other (sdcard) seems to be where all my apps and downloads go. this creates an unreliability being that the phones sdcard folder isnt connected to my removable card and thus making backups useless.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted ICS tablet with wireless and RJ45 ethernet which both work well on their own. However once the Wifi is turned on and connected the lan is unusable. The lan (eth0) doesn't even list under ifconfig when the wifi is connected. For example... (loopback device removed from each) With wifi on (and connected) and no ethernet cable plugged in. Static Lan config details entered.

Is there a way to read .bk files right on my computer in a text editor or something? Or maybe a virtual phone setup on my computer... Just shooting in the dark here, I have gotten rid of my S3 and switched to BB but backed everything up the day before incase I need something off there and I need some of the text messages that I had backed up that I didn't think I needed.

I'd want to utilize this for PDAnet and file transfer if possible but hit a brick wall since it won't connect. I'm wondering whether this is something on the computer side of things, I've never done it before (because the hero would never be discovered on bluetooth) so I am curious as to how to proceed.

Usually, I have my HTC Hero connected to the computer via USB and I launch the application either in debug mode or in normal mode.
So, the last time I ran the app in normal mode. Then I disconnect the device (I want to try to have it "free", not connected to computer) and I start the app from the menu. When I do that I get a popup saying "Application xxx is waiting for the debugger to attach" and there it stops and eventually dies.
Why is it waiting for the debugger, when the last time I ran the app (while connected) I didnt run it as Debug?
I noticed that if I leave the OEM Eris USB cable plugged into my tower & Eris that the tower will freeze just after CMOS flash screen during PC boot up. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and I do not know what would cause that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I rooted, when I plugged in my Eris to the computer the screen popping up which had my choose either charge only, disk drive, or HTC sync would pop up, however after I rooted that screen doesn't pop up, nor is it in the notification bar. The debugging mode notification still pops up though.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Droid shows my Mac computer under Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices >. I can see it listed and it says "Paired but not connected". I then, on my Mac under the BT control panels, see "Droid" listed and it is also "paired but not connected."
Well, when I tell my Droid to "connect" via Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices > press my computers name (or long press and select "Connect") it grays out and says "connecting" and then my computer shows it as "connected". But, in a few seconds, the Droid reverts back to "Paired but not connected" and the Mac then also goes back to showing the Droid as "Not Connected".
I want to try this app that allows me to use my speaker and mic on my Mac to take and place phone calls, via BT, on my Droid - but I can't get the 2 to stay "connected" via BT. They pair, but wont connect. It pairs perfect with my car instantly every time.
Is it possible to do it? Which app should be used?

We upgraded our android phones (LG Thrill and Inspire) to a different phone. The person in radio shack advised us to backup the contacts list to the SD card which we did. We got our new phones and when we came home we were not able to open the SD card on the computer (vista). Every time I plug the SD card via card reader the computer wants to format the card first, I followed the format instructions once and it error-ed out.
How can I open the contents of the SD card with a computer without using a cell phone? I just need the contacts list from it.All searches in google and youtube leads to using a cell phone which we don't have, or using some third party software which didn't work.
I have an ATT SGS3 and today I flashed 4.2. Everything is cool, but due to multiple flashes over the past few days, I had several (0) folders on my SD card. I know this is due to 4.2 having the option to have multiple users. Since I had like 6 (0) folders, I moved my main folder back to the newest folder. The problem? While I can see the folder in Root Explorer and CWM, it does not show up when I plug it into the computer via USB. I only see one folder and nothing else.
How can I fix it so I can see this folder when plugged into the computer? The way it is now, my personal ringtones, music and everything else are not being found as they are not being seen.

Then when I went to reboot it was stuck on the screen with the red writing so I rebooted it in Recovery and it said there was no OS installed. I looked for this problem online and found that if I mounted the phone to my computer I could copy and paste a new ROM for my phone which I eventually tried to do but for some reason it does not allow me to check off either of the boxes next to "Mount SD Card" or "Mount Internal." It does let me mark all the other boxes. what I should do so the computer recognizes the phone as a "Removable Disk" like it used to so I can just drag and drop a new OS into my phone and put this thing behind me already?

Basically, I'm unable to make a briefcase folder on my phone's SD card. I can make new folders, but I don't get the range of options that you would normally get when hovering your cursor over the "New" option (when opening the "New" context menu) when accessing my SD card via a usb cable plugged into the phone; I'm actually able to get the context menu when accessing the SD card by sticking it straight into the computer, but when it remains in my phone (and the phone's hooked up to the computer), I don't get the context menu.
Here's what I want:
Obviously, I can just use the SD card by plugging it directly into the computer, but it's inconvenient to take off the case, remove the back, etc. I'd rather just plug a USB cable directly into the phone. Why is my phone preventing me from getting that context menu when doing so though?

I have a 32 gig micro sd card in my Galaxy s4 mini and I am curious what program I can use to Map "My pictures" and folders on my PC with sub folders of pictures to sync with my Galaxy s4 mini but then periodically sync to the device weekly to ADD or Delete photo's that have changed since last sync.
I'm constantly adding photos to My Pictures on my PC and I don't want to simply Drag and Drop the 32gig every night, I just want to look for changes and add what is New.
I knew that Naver-Line supposedly can backup each chat session individually but in my case, the number of chat sessions are almost 100. Is there any way to backup whole history chat of Naver-LINE without rooted permission.

I'm using foldersync to mirror data, but I was wondering what were the essential folders to sync. I can figure out most of them, but I'm struggling with the Android folder in root. Is there any valuable information in here or is it all temporary and so not required to be backed up?
I listen to music at work with some Bluetooth speakers. I also occasionally connect to WiFi while at work. Since the Froyo update if I am connected to both Wifi and Bluetooth while listening to music, the bluetooth will turn itself on and off over and over again. This did not happen to me prior to the Froyo update.I guess my question is, can we not be running and be connected to WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time with Froyo?
