I am a very proud owner of an EVO and never had a phone that utilizes an SD card. Is making directories as simple as adding a folder when it is connected to the computer? I want to create separate folders ringtones, music, and videos, and thought some of you Android veterans would have the answer.

I would like to add songs to have a different notification for text messages to phone calls. I have seen from Tips where I need to put them but when I connect my phone to the computer I can't see a folder "sdcard". I can see various folders within the phone, eg photos but not this one.
View 6 Replies View Relatedone is clearly the folder for my actual sdcard (sdcard2) and the other (sdcard) seems to be where all my apps and downloads go. this creates an unreliability being that the phones sdcard folder isnt connected to my removable card and thus making backups useless.

I paired EVO with my HP HDX (model HDX X18T-1200 CTO) easy enough, but it says 'paired but not connected' on my phone. I'd want to utilize this for PDAnet and file transfer if possible but hit a brick wall since it won't connect. I'm wondering whether this is something on the computer side of things, I've never done it before (because the hero would never be discovered on bluetooth) so I am curious as to how to proceed.

Eg: When you connect an Android phone to a computer i would like an application on the android system to read some allowed folders on the connected computer. Making it so the user doesn't have to sync files itself.

Usually, I have my HTC Hero connected to the computer via USB and I launch the application either in debug mode or in normal mode.
So, the last time I ran the app in normal mode. Then I disconnect the device (I want to try to have it "free", not connected to computer) and I start the app from the menu. When I do that I get a popup saying "Application xxx is waiting for the debugger to attach" and there it stops and eventually dies.
Why is it waiting for the debugger, when the last time I ran the app (while connected) I didnt run it as Debug?
I noticed that if I leave the OEM Eris USB cable plugged into my tower & Eris that the tower will freeze just after CMOS flash screen during PC boot up. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and I do not know what would cause that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I rooted, when I plugged in my Eris to the computer the screen popping up which had my choose either charge only, disk drive, or HTC sync would pop up, however after I rooted that screen doesn't pop up, nor is it in the notification bar. The debugging mode notification still pops up though.

Now my problem is that I have bought an iPod dock that just connects the iPod via USB to my HTPC, which makes it possible to directly and 100 % digitally play music from the iPod. I have been looking for an app/server combination to remotely control the iPod playback from my Android device, but haven't found anything. There are a lot of apps to remote control iTunes, but which can also control an iPod connected via USB?
Using Windows 7 - can change to Linux if that will do it, 32/64 bit doesn't matter. HTC Desire Z using Android 2.3 or 4.0 doesn't matter what is required - I just want to find a way of doing this.
(If the app/server combination also will control Media Player/Media Center, it is a plus, but not a requirement as I already have another app for that.)
My Droid shows my Mac computer under Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices >. I can see it listed and it says "Paired but not connected". I then, on my Mac under the BT control panels, see "Droid" listed and it is also "paired but not connected."
Well, when I tell my Droid to "connect" via Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices > press my computers name (or long press and select "Connect") it grays out and says "connecting" and then my computer shows it as "connected". But, in a few seconds, the Droid reverts back to "Paired but not connected" and the Mac then also goes back to showing the Droid as "Not Connected".
I want to try this app that allows me to use my speaker and mic on my Mac to take and place phone calls, via BT, on my Droid - but I can't get the 2 to stay "connected" via BT. They pair, but wont connect. It pairs perfect with my car instantly every time.
What is the reason that some charger make the phone thinks is connected to a computer. I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can successfully customize folder icons on a removable Flash Disk using Desktop.ini file and a separate icon file. But I am unable to do the same thing on folders on the connected phone device that, for all I know, is similar to a removable device. The phone is a Samsung Droid Charge. When I copy the Desktop.ini and the folder containing the icon file from the pc to the memory card, nothing happens. The icons for the folders still have the same default appearance. Don't know how many people care to have custom icons but it is a nice thing to have when you are always trying to identify a few folders from many.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just took some pictures with my g/f's incredible and I could not find the 100media folder when I try to take pictures from the computer.I mount it on the disk drive, went to DCIM folder, and I only can find .thumnails folder, and Camera folder.When I clicked on Camera folder, it's empty.When I try with my EVO, 100media folder shows with no issues and I can find my pictures with no issues.

I'm using HTC Email on my EVO and my Trash folder is showing completely empty on the phone, no matter what download options I set (xx messages, xx days, ALL). I know the Trash folder is not truly empty because my regular PC mail program shows over 9000 messages.
- my email is setup as an IMAP account through 1and1.com
- the Trash folder is the only one that is not showing any emails when it should be
- I have checked to make sure there's not an alternate Trash Emails, Garbage, Recycle Bin, etc folder that is being used for deleted emails on my email account
- this same behavior is being exhibited when I setup my email account on an HTC Hero
I have a problem with my Evo as that it literally thinks its connected to a PC when it's not.
I had the phone, checked for a Astro Fime Manager for a file I placed on SD Card. When I was checking, most things appeared but when I checked other folders, like the Download folded, nothing showed in there. But I know I had files in that the folder.
I then connected the phone to my PC and without it asking me if I wanted to charge it, sync it, use it for disk drive or internet connection, it went straight to the "Use it as a disk drive" feature. Verified because soon as I plugged it into my computer, the SD Card opened on my PC.
I then clicked to have the phone just "Charging" and now I can see everything on my SD card again.
Do anyone know what this problem could be or how to fix it? I thought it was one of the SD Card Problems that was occurring to some phones. But according to other threads I read, their SD card wasn't even acknowledged by the Evo.
Their SD card stopped working altogether before doing the fix.
Another question about this, will "Debugging" cause this if left on? I had it one for doing the adb stuff when I rooted etc.
I just bought the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Mini Pro. I have a problem with the memory stick. It says it's connected and everything, but it also says it's empty. Main point being; I can't get the memory stick to work. I use the default memory stick (2GB), the one that came with the phone.

I have plugged both phones into my computer and tried that with just one picture to see if it would work and I could not find the picture that I moved. Whenever I plug it into my computer and mount it shows a USB drive under "Computer", but whenever I click it I get a popup saying that the drive can't be found. View 4 Replies View RelatedEverytime i plug the phone into my laptop it pops up on the phone to turn the usb drive on or charge only. i click usb drive and it beeps and says turn off in the notification bar. then it says checking sd card for errors and beeps again and then it wont let me access it from the laptop. it sees the removable drive but wont open it. just now it let me access it long enough to put a cd on the card then clicked off again.
