In Wi-Fi Direct specification, it is written that "Only one of the Wi-Fi devices needs to be compliant with Wi-Fi Direct to establish a peer-to-peer connection that transfers data directly between each other with greatly reduced setup."

Nov 7, 2013I have 2.3.6 gingerbread OS. I want to factory reset it. but it reboots and my installed apps are still here. Then I want to reboot in recovery mode but it boot in normal mode. Then i try to reset it by using ADB Terminal. When i enter the command it says:
Cannot open /dev/tty0 permission denied
What is missing in my phone?

Aug 28, 2012I use Google Play Music. Over time, I've chosen certain albums to store locally ('pin') from music.google.com on my Android 2.4 phone. Now I wish to clear these out from the phone in the name of space and begin anew.
Without an apparent way to do this on the phone (?), I connected the device to a computer and wiped out the Android music directory's files manually.
Then, when I returned to my phone's Play Music app and attempted to choose new music to pin to the device, Android is re-downloading *all* of the music I had previously chosen to store locally, completely defeating the purpose of this pursuit.
Is there a way to start fresh on the phone without deleting music from URL....? I simply want to download a select few albums to a device from my Play Music account, not everything I have ever selected to pin since my history with the service.

Jun 8, 2010Does anyone know of a cheap Android or programmable device that has wifi? I need it for a project for a company that needs a wifi handheld device for the shop floor. Im not too fussed about the language the device uses though Im not really interested in the iTouch as theres no intention to release the app in the app store and I don`t really want to jail break everybodys iTouch. Ideally it would be small , iTouch size for example and relatively cheap $100 or less. Nothing fancy just ability to write a simple UI and have wifi. Voice is not needed.

I changed the values to extremely high value, but it seems framework2.jar and odex doesn't work for lockscreen chevron at all..

I'm asking because I'm going to an employer who said they only support Exchange corporate email on Blackberry or iPhone. I just purchased a Samsung Epic Android phone under Sprint. As far as I now there is no Enterprise email plan for that phone. But it does run ActiveSync. Why would an employer limit the devices allowed to access email and can they really enforce that? Is the limitation usually a function of what devices can run Active Sync? Also, if they do allow my Android, what beyond entering the the user, pw and exchange server do they need to do on my phone? Can they put a policy on my personal phone?

Samsung Captivate :: Touch Screen Compared To HTC's Touch Screen?
Jul 17, 2010Just a quick question about the Captivate. I just got myself an HTC Aria and I love how easy it is to use the touch screen on it. Its extremely responsive. Now my sister has the SamSung Instinct on Sprint and the touch screen is horrible compared to HTCs touch on the Aria. Im thinking about taking the HTC back to AT&T and getting the Samsung Captivate. I am just worried about the touch screen on it and if it will be like the Instincts? If the touch is as good as HTCs Ill get it. If its not, then Ill stick with the Aria because despite its size, its an extremely fun and responsive phone. Any thoughts?

I saw that there is an Intent action: ACTION_PACKAGE _ INSTALL, available and the developer reference says: "Broadcast Action: Trigger the download and eventual installation of a package" So I wrote a program like so:

But this fails to do the intended task (which is download and install the application). I'm not able to figure what is happening to this broadcast intent, no logs get printed in LogCat. Any pointers on where to look or how to proceed?

Apr 25, 2014I have a Qware TB-9718D tablet (rebrand of ployer-momo11-speed) with RK3066 CPU and Android 4.04.
I've installed the CWM-ROM-Ployer_Momo11_3-0-8_M1_software_chinese-version_4-2-2_20130425-4-2& CWM ROM (Android 4.2.2) on the tablet and it boots just fine.
However, the touch screen does not seem to work anymore with this ROM. I have tried two touch screen fixes (which were suggested on another site): one of which was the 907c_compatibility_1.2.0.zip
How to fix the touch screen with this ROM? Could I for example extract the touch screen driver from the original ROM's lib folder and use it in this new ROM?
General :: Screen Will Not Detect Touch?
Dec 3, 2012I was using my phone (droid 3) and the app I was using force closed, my phone lagged for a few seconds and then I just put it down so it could catch up. While waiting the screen timed out and when I went to use it I could not unlock it. I can press the button on top and it will turn the screen on or off, and if I hold it it will bring up the power off menu. I tried to call it, and it went through. I got the normal screen to answer it, but I could not answer it. After I hung up I got the notification for a missed call. Everything seems to be working, my screen just does not respond to a touch. What should I do?

Apr 17, 2013The touchscreen is not responding randomly the device itself is functioning fine but the screen is not use-able. The simple turn off and on the screen fix the problem for a few minutes but then again is not working, and is frozen in the lock screen so i have to do the off/on trick few times to make it responsive. I tried the stock rom the modaco rom and now i am using AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.2.2_r1 but it is all the same. Every time i flashed a rom i did the full wipe. Sometimes is even frozen in recovery mode. It aIso sometimes reboot when it get frozen. I have 1.4a loader and i tried with all the twrp versions now i am on 2.5

Apr 2, 2013I am having big troubles with the touch screen of my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II. Everything worked smooth since 1 year, and 2 days ago suddenly the touch screen stop responding. The phone works, I receive calls but I cannot answer since I cannot swipe. All the side button works, but the front button on the screen (menu, option, back and search buttons) do not work at all. I tried to reboot but nothing. I took sim, battery and microSD out for one entire night and then rebooted in the morning (without sim and microSD) but nothing. I also rebooted the same morning with sim and microSD but nothing. I ended up to try a factory reset even if I dont have a backup but I figured out I cannot do it because when I reboot and press volume up and power button then I cannot press the menu bottom when I see the robot with the box since the menu bottom does not respond!
