When I tell it to turn on wifi it will turn on and then switch off by its self? I have tryed a battery pull, resetting the router, & connecting to a different router, with all the same results.

Give thumbs up for this nice feature to switch cm-profiles with nfc-tags!! But I would like to go a step further: pure automatic. I think it would be nice to have an module which switches the profiles on defined events (just like the "nfc-event").Triggers for that could be:
* WLAN-Connection to special WLAN
* Position of the phone (display downside )
* NFC-Tags
* Position
* etc.
I've just started running CM11 and I do like it. Nice and smooth with very little problems. How would I change profile automatically?
i.e when I'm at home the home profile is active, or when i Jump in the car and connect to Bluetooth the Bluetooth profile is activated?
I know this can he done with tasker, which is how I manage my profiles now. But I like the idea of my ROM doing this ?
Anyone having issues with their phone changing itself to Silent mode? Every morning, I switch to Vibrate before I go to work. At roughly 9:00, the phone will then change itself to Silent mode without me doing anything.The only thing I can think of is that I used to use the app "Settings Profiles" to do changes for me automatically. I wasnt crazy about it though so Ive uninstalled it. The program no longer shows up for me so I dont think thats the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's done this twice now (before and after factory reset). 2.1 OTA, not rooted.
Whenever I turn on the wifi, or I become in range of my WPA2 network, it doesn't always connect. I say "always" because it seems to be random. If I toggle wifi on or off, it doesn't always connect. Sometimes it connects after 30+ seconds. Every other device connects just fine.
The only sure way to get it to connect is to force it to rescan, usually by going to Settings and displaying all SSIDs in range. THEN it connects, always and immediately.
The even sillier thing is, it will alert me of open networks, but never connect to my own saved network.
Is there a way that I can set up so that 3g comes on when wifi is not being used?I have Tasker but can't seem to work out how to configure it to do so.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFrom the last 2 weeks i have been facing a weird problem with my A57. When ever i am trying to select Wifi, my mobile switch offs. I have to remove the battery and reinsert the battery then again switch on the phone.
It is working fine with DATA Mode, but the only problem is with the Wifi. I have done factory reset but no use.
I am currently a Blackberry Storm owner. I have pre-ordered a Droid at Best Buy and very much look forward to picking it up on Friday.My current Storm does not have WiFi capabilities so I have not had an opportunity to play with WiFi on a device like this.My question is how do you go about switching between WiFi (where available) and Verizon's network? After you have configured the Droid to user your home wireless network, is it a manual operation where you select the connection you want or will it automatically use a WiFi connection when available?

I installed CM9 (2 RCs) for a while but it was still buggy for me. Then I decided to go back to GB. Since I went back the wifi switches off immediately after switching it on. I switch it on. It starts scanning and it switches off again. The device does not connect to a wifi AP.
Currently it is running GIGABREAD+, but it did exactly the same with the original stock ROM which I saved on the SD card and installed again.
If I do a WiFi driver test (*#*#526#*#*) it states that the wireless driver loaded successful.
I noticed something is wrong with my phone. when i enter the browser after switching from 3G to wifi, the screen will flicker... anyone know any fix for this? or the reason the screen flickers?
View 4 Replies View Relatedlately in my Asus Padfone 2, the wifi keeps turning on automatically without my permission. Everytime I wake the screen from lock screen, I can already see the WiFi indicator is on above, it's driving me nuts I have to turn it back off every once in a while. This only happen lately when I install many apps from Store I can't remember, so I reckon one of those apps is the main cause of this problem. Which in my running apps turns on my WiFi automatically?

It will continually do this over and over again until finally saying "error." Not really sure why or how to fix this, but it is pretty annoying that I can't use my wifi.

If i then leave the house and return the wi-fi fails to reconnect automatically. This has only happened since i carried out the update and noticed someone else on another thread has exactly the same problem on vodafone eforum. Is there a solution? Currently i need to turn wi-fi off and back on again and it works, not the end of the world but a pain since it used to work so well! View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only just noticed an issue that after disconnecting from wifi my phone doesn't automatically go back to 3G/2G.
I have to turn the wifi back on and when it can't find one only then does it decide to connect to 3G/2G.
Didn't have this issue before and I'm thinking the latest update (1.31.405.5) has something to do with it.
Anybody else having similar issues?
BTW I'm on the vodafone UK network.
is there a way to set up my email (not gmail) to only download automatically over wifi? I receive a lot of work emails and it uses data unnecessarily when it downloads on my phone when I am at work. Ideal will be to only download when I change the setting. Don't want to turn of data completely because then all the other apps stop working too (WhatsApp, facebook etc.)

I followed the same steps on my fiancee's Inspire 4G and it didn't work so well. When I click the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot box in Settings > Wireless & Networks it turns on the Wi-Fi...and it is detectable by other devices...but then it immediately and automatically turns off.
We have the same phone purchased on the same day and I used the same Access Point Name settings as detailed in the excellent Android Forum thread. I even deleted and re-created the Access Point to make sure I didn't mistype anything but the same Portable Wi-Fi turns on then immediately turns off problem exists.
Every day when I arrive home, my SGS3 has connected to some open network near my house. I never want it to do this automatically but can't stop it from happening. This never happens on my wife's I phone 4s...
I've set advanced settings to not notify me when an open network is nearby, but the damned phone keeps connecting to unwanted connections. How to stop that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my wifi not connecting. I have to AP's in my house, on different channels. They work perfectly fine. I have the wifi toggle setting on the home screen that I usually press to toggle the wifi on/off. Recently, it hasn't been working after I disconnect from 3G and connect to wifi. It says the wifi is turned on, but it won't connect to either of the remembered APs. The only way to get it to automatically connect is to go to settings and view the list of APs. Only then will it connect to one of the two APs. This is really annoying, as it seemed to only start this recently and nothing has changed. My wifi sleep policy is never to turn off. It's a droid eris with 2.1 OTA. Ran a virus scan, nothing. Any ideas?
