Sep 7, 2010I can't seem to attach a picture to a text without it being turned into a Slideshow. Before Froyo, I was able to attach a picture to a text and if I left the message area blank, it would not convert it into a slideshow. I am not able to do that anymore. I've tried starting the process from the Gallery and the Camera, but I can not find a solution for it. Is this the same for anyone else?

Jul 30, 2010Is there anyway of getting HTC's Messages apk (2.1) working on the newly released Froyo OTA leak? I really dislike the new design and I've tried pushing with adb and using root explorer but once you reboot on Froyo the Messages icon just disappears. Thanks, much appreciated.

HTC Droid Eris :: MMS Messages Won't Download?
Apr 18, 2010I have a question. I recently downloaded Handcent to try it out and one day out of nowhere, MMS messages won't download. I click the download button an retry and it fails after about a second. I uninstalled Handcent, dialed *228 to reprogram, and sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. Sometimes, I'll even get an MMS from one person, but the message appears in a different thread, still not being able to Download. I searched for the problem and came across this being common for the Hero, but I'm not sure if its related to my Eris. Anyone with an Eris have experience with this? Or tips? I want to stay away from a Hard Reset, but will try it if I can sync my contacts.

Not even the text part shows just who it was from. I have received texts with pictures with no problems, then randomly I'll get one of these.

Nov 3, 2010Has anyone heard anything from htc or verizon about the lag some of us have after the update?My phone is generally just slower and seems to stutter a lot more.text msgs is a joke with how laggy it is to read and type them.I was messing around with a friends nexus1 and it was way faster than my incredible This is all after a factory reset etc.I am hesitant to do a reset again since I will lose everything once more.

Oct 30, 2010The market place was working fine until today when I started getting multiple "download successful" messages. I've tried the following to fix it.
1. go to your settings
2. select "applications"
3. then select "manage applications"
4. press menu and select "filter" then "All"
5. scroll down to:
a) "Checkin Service" then select "clear data"
b) "Download Manager" then select "clear data"
c) "Google Apps" then "clear data"
d) "Google Talk Service" then select "clear data"
e) " Market" then select "clear cache"
However, when I try step 5c) I don't get the option to clear the data, just force stop. Does anyone know how I can get the "clear data" option? I've also deselected Autoupdate time and date.

Aug 19, 2010I just updated to 2.2 froyo yesterday and now when I try to download any app it starts and goes straight to saying download unsuccessful! Is this an issue with 2.2? What can I do to resolve this? It sucks a little extra because I just uninstalled my launcherpro plus because it was being glitchy with 2.2 and as I went to reinstall it like the dev told me to I found out I could no longer download apps. I can't even navigate the orginal home screen because of how use to launcherproI was.

I took it to the Verizon store yesterday and they told me that it is a known issue with the phone, and they are working on corrective software to solve the problem. Anyone else have the same issue ? Nov 13, 2009So I have everything set up to automatically use my Google Voice number now, and started getting SMS texts in both my messaging inbox and in GV. I figured out I needed to turn off the SMS forwarding in GV, but it turns out I like using the default messaging app more than the one in GV.
Is there a way to make the GV app stop checking for SMS messages but still download my voicemail? I don't want to make it stop checking all together but I'd like to use the other app for SMS's.

Aug 11, 2010I am not sure if this has already been answered, but can't find it. So, I am starting a new thread. Please close this if there is similar thread exists.I have not received a froyo update on my EVO 4G. Once I waited long enough, here is what I have tried so far to get the update.
- NO update via OTA so far.
- Reset the phone to a factory setting, no luck.
- Manually tried going to setting --> System Update --> HTC software update --> check Now and have been getting "Your phone is up to date" for over a week now.
- Tried to install it myself by downloading the zip file. Followed all recommended steps. Tried this at least 3 different times, using different zip files I downloaded from different locations. I kept on getting "signature verification failed"
- Called sprint, transferred to several tech support people, who knew nothing about android 2.2 (froyo)
- Went to sprint store, and was told to give it another week or so before they consider this as an issue.
The only option I have left is to accidentally throw the phone under a Bus and get a brand new one since I got full insurance from Radio shack.

Jun 1, 2010Does the Evo come with 2.2 installed already? I was thinking that if the Evo comes with 2.1 and 2.2 is an OTA update maybe us fellow DInc users will get it the same day as the Evo, maybe on June 5th the release day for the Evo. HTC and Google have listed the Evo and DInc many times together as the first phones to get it. The only problem we may have is the difference in carriers. I really hope its sooner than later for this update. I wanna watch World Cup off my Slingbox on my DINC.
