Is there anyway of getting HTC's Messages apk (2.1) working on the newly released Froyo OTA leak? I really dislike the new design and I've tried pushing with adb and using root explorer but once you reboot on Froyo the Messages icon just disappears. Thanks, much appreciated.

So I have the Froyo Leak (ROM, no radio) based off of the official Froyo leak (I have the 2.05 radio). I want to unroot and go back to the stock 2.1 so that I can upgrade to the official 2.2 OTA from Verizon (then I'll re-root, that's another story though).

The reason why I'm creating this thread is because the video from the first post at the bottom about unrooting from leaked 2.2, Is talking about downgrading from a different leaked ROM, completely different software # than I have, and I want to make sure I do this the right way.

so I took the leap the same night the froyo leak was out. I was on rooted 2.1 and followed the steps of intalling the ota and then re-rooted and installed the leaked froyo.I tried most of the fixes, but would rather wait for the "real" Froyo OTA. My question is simple, do I have to remove the effects of the OTA (downgrade the hboot) before I re-flash to a stock 2.1 or will the 2.1 reflash take care of that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI wanted to compare the results of the two different methods of installing this update.I wiped everything by installing the leaked RUU 2 days ago and I must say my phone's performance has significantly improved. My quadrant score went from 525 (stock) to 1365 (after installing the leaked Froyo) neither score was rooted.Scrolling seems much faster and the optical pad is a lot smoother.I'm hearing some people who installed the OTA saying that their phone has been laggy and hangs when scrolling.I've been running the official Froyo for the past 2 days and haven't experienced this.Can we get some feedback from some people who have installed the RUU vs OTA.

Today I rooted my DInc with Unrevoked Forever, then I Flashed the 8/1 Froyo Leak but I did not flash the Radio.
My Software Info is:
Android 2.2
BaseBand - 1.00.03.04.06
Kernel - 2.6.32.15 - g5e1ad8b htc-kernel@and 18-2 #1
PRI Version - 1.28.002
So far the phone works I have Market 2.2 etc, but I tested Hulu and found out that my "handset" doesn't work with this format. I'm not sure how to check for Flash 10.1 but some video worked on the Adobe flash player site.
Is anyone else having problems with adfree android after the 2.2 install?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI was on 2.1 stock, did the leaked ota and then the 2.2 leak. Everything is working great but I've noticed vibrate is not working for notifications. It seems to work for hepatic feedback and on calls BUT apps like gmail/messages/chompsms/others don't vibrate at all even if it's enabled. What the hell do I do? Any ideas?

Before Froyo, I was able to attach a picture to a text and if I left the message area blank, it would not convert it into a slideshow. I am not able to do that anymore. I've tried starting the process from the Gallery and the Camera, but I can not find a solution for it. Is this the same for anyone else?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOkay so a month or so ago I rooted with Unrevoked and put on the 2.2 leak that was available at the time. I doubt I'll get an OTA for the official 2.2 but I saw the update.zip was made available. Is there anyway to put this on my phone? I'm assuming I'll have to downgrade to stock RUU first and then I'll lose root and lose all my backup info. Basically I want the new 2.2 but I don't want to lose my data. Is this possible yet and if so how do you do it? There are a gazillion threads about similar issues but I haven't seen one that specifically talks about this yet, although it's probably in here somewhere.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I have been using the cigarette light adapter and separate 1 ft cable, both of which i got from monoprice. They worked fine before i got froyo. Since i got froyo, when i plug it in, the red/orange light just blinks on and off and my screen turns on and off. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but i have to be able to charge!

I followed the instructions here and on the Internets and was successfully able to update my phone in the following order: Now I am unable to *228 and program with either a 1 or a 2. The message "programming in progress" does come up but after about 10 seconds, the voice tells me that I cannot update at this time and I should call customer service. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to troubleshoot. I assume its due to the upgrade and not a coincidence.

This does not compare at all to the dramatic jump that I saw on my original Droid. Is it possible Moto already had JIT enabled on 2.1?More importantly I was hoping to see 512MB of memory, however the device still only shows 256. I would be surprised if Motorola missed the opportunity to unlock the additional ram that they put in this device.Anyone have any thoughts on this. Do you think 2.6.32 kernel will be the final one that they roll out OTA or can we expect the 2.6.33 or greater that unlocks HIGHMEM.

View 8 Replies View RelatedPhone will not vibrate when I receive emails, SMS, or gTalk messages if I put it in Vibrate Only mode. Phone calls do vibrate. In settings for each of those apps, I have a check mark in the Vibrate box. My Vibrate mode *used* to work, but when I uninstalled Quick Profiles it seems to have killed vibrations for everything except phone calls.
