I have been trying to root this thing will no luck. I know that you can use simple root or simple root OTA and what not. I am running the newest OTA from sprint and what not..I have tried installing the pcm file and what not but it says failed, system files are older or something of that nature. Is there a way to root without downloading Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0?

It's mtk6572 based and runs on AOSP android 4.2.2 (M-pai s720) and it's rooted.After installing Xposed Framework, I added a module named "Gravity Box" and in order for it to work , a reboot was required.The phone shut down and after turning it back on, it stuck on boot animation.
After pulling the battery out and reinserting it, i entered recovery mode (stock android recovery), wiped cache and factory formatted it. Everything goes fine. But when i try to turn it back on after resetting (in the recovery menu) , it still remains in boot animation. I have tried all possible combinations, including leaving out the battery for a period of time etc.
I
pressing Vol Up and power button, sends in a different menu for testing. All tests are passed, so there is not a hardware problem.
If it is possible to have root on my current Desire ROM (T-Mobile branded 2.1 update1, Build 1.21.110.4 CL175581 release keys, bootloader 0.80) without having to wipe the phone and install another ROM?
The reason that I ask is that I have read a few reviews about Titanium Backup as that would back up all apps and settings and make my life a lot easier if I decide to debrand and install the stock 2.2 ROM as everything can be reinstalled in a 1 click process. Its the data (email accounts in k9 mail etc) that I am ideally needing saved as those are a pain in the arse to setup again. If root on the current rom cannot be done is there any other app that would save my data as I can save the apks using Astro.
I have tried several roms and they all look great but when i try to use titanium backup or anything requiring root, it attempts to open superuser SU request but force closes every time...

Normal PC browsers have no problem accessing the site, but Android browser displays to the user that the certificate is untrusted. I don't want that behavior, not even once, so I'm looking for a way to install this certificate on the device from my app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked Forever and installed the Virtuous 2.2 ROM a while ago, anyway, I'm getting a notification about a system Update that wants to install Verizon Bloatware on my phone, so I was gonna install it then promptly delete the apps just to get rid of the notifications, but when I go to install, it counts down from 10 to restart, then does nothing. So the notifications keep coming up, no matter how many times I try it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen many threads on the crappy side asking how to side load apps (installing non market apps) well you can root (look for the sticky in our forum) or you just use the Side loading Wonder Machine with no need to root. I use it all the time (just got me an Oregon Trail apk anyway, just follow the instructions and you'll be happy. I would make two minor corrections though. I downloaded the samsung drivers from samsung them selfs. Also make sure you have the apk in the same folder as the wonder machine heres a video.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone is having difficulty with Touchdown or the native mail app in syncing with their work email through microsoft exchange. For some reason older mail disappears in both the native mail app and touchdown. Sometimes I would see an older email I kept and then it disappears. I have set it up so that email only gets deleted from our servers when I say so. I'm also running 2.2 Froyo. Also in the native mail app, I have deleted an email but it comes back, it never gets deleted. A little frustrating to say the least.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Ford Focus with Microsoft Sync. Shortly after getting my HTC Evo I got it all connected to my car and could make hands free phone calls just like my old phone did. It was great. Then I went to the Bluetooth Settings and tried to change the device name from "PC36100" to "HTC Evo". Now it never seems to connect to my car again.
Frustrated, I went in to the Sync menu in the car and deleted all bluetooth devices figuring I would just start over. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a similar function on the Evo. Sync now sits there waiting for me to enter the PIN so that it can pair a device, but when I scan for devices on my phone it will often claim that Sync is "paired but not connected" or sometimes I can get it to prompt for me a PIN. When I enter that, it sits there "pairing" with Sync indefinitely. Other times the application seems to crash before I can actually enter the PIN, and the screen switches back to the "Bluetooth Settings" menu. Touching the button to pair usually gets me back to where I can enter a PIN (without crashing) but again -- it hangs indefinitely after the PIN has been submitted.
I have tried power cycling the phone as well as turning bluetooth off and then back on. I have also tried setting the option to make the device discoverable, but nothing seems to work!
Is there a way to blast all of the information that the Evo knows about paired bluetooth devices and start all over without completely flashing the phone back to defaults? I hope so...
We also have an Escape with Sync so I'll try pairing with that when I get home too. My old phone allowed me to store multiple profiles (which I named Sync-Focus and Sync-Escape) but it wasn't an Android phone. I don't know what's going to happen when I try this with the Evo but I guess it's worth a shot.
I have installed cyanogenmod 9 in my Sony Live Walkman, and the kernel that comes with it.
Can I install a new kernel (like rage kernel) without having to install the rom (CM9) again? It will work just replacing the kernel?
It seems Microsoft has come out with a scanner for android for free that they've previously made available on the iphone. Called Tag.
Microsoft Gives Android the Free Barcode-Reading Tag App - Microsoft tag android - Gizmodo. I found it in the marketplace but it doesn't work on my Eris. I downloaded it and opened it but couldn't get it to scan any of the barcodes or QR codes I tried whereas my Barcode Scanner app picked them up easily. The is started freezing, doing nothing. I uninstalled and then reinstalled and all I got was force closes after that. Maybe it is not compatible with 1.5 although it was in the marketplace. Has anyone else tried it successfully? I guess I will stick with Barcode Scanner, not sure if Tag does anything different or better than that anyway although the article said it has an advanced way of reading.
I see that there are quite a few posts asking about whether there's an application that will sync your Outlook Notes to your handhelpd (Droid), but it doesn't appear to be any recent posts on it.
Does anyone know if any apps out there will do this? I've read how to export the Notes as a csv file, and impor them, but the syncing is what I'm really after.
HTC sync programme only recognize and synchronize the PEOPLE who are entered under " PHONE " section while opening contact card.

1- for People section ( 33 people )
2- for google account section ( 348 people )

The idea is after the user fills in a few text views, the app gathers that data and inputs it in a new word doc, kind of like a generator to generate essays/legal documents.
Just got a MotoG and i would like to know if it is possible to sync OTA the calendar and contacts between motoG and Microsoft Outlook. With my IPhone i can do this having an iCloud account, and with my blackberry trough outlook.com account.
