when I unplug my evo from usb the charging light stays on and the battery indicator on the top bar continues with the charging animation as if it is plugged in. this does not go away. i have to reboot the phone to resolve.

Only way to get rid of it is to re-boot. I guess this probably something wrong with my USB port?

So, I'm supposed to charge to 100%, then unplug, then re-plug and charge some more?
It seems as if my phone doesnt saying 3G it just shows bars doesnt even show 1X. Im wondering if there is a setting im missing or do i need to reset/update something.

While the phone stops ringing it continue to vibrate although the documentation of RINGER_MODE_SILENT says it should also stop vibrating.
I'm using the SDK 1.6
UPDATE:
As I didn't find a solution yet, I tried to deactivate the vibration settings manually.
am.setVibrateSetting(AudioManager.VIBRATE_TYPE_RINGER, AudioManager.VIBRATE_SETTING_OFF );
But this also doesn't prevent the phone form vibrating when a call is incoming.
UPDATE 2:
Today I tried to solve the problem by canceling the vibration via a Vibration object.
Vibrator vib = (Vibrator) getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE);
vib.cancel();
Again, without success. Now I'm running out of ideas and asking myself if it is possible to stop the vibration at all.
UPDATE 3:
I've discovered another interesting fact when I've reread the documentation of the Vibrator class. The documentation says:
"If your process exits, any vibration
you started with will stop."

QUESTION: Doesnt the phone know when to stop charging or does it just keep on charging? The phone doesnt feel hot but i dont want to fry the battery.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy X10 doesn't like charging to 100%, whenever I leave it charging for long periods of time (ex. overnight) the battery will never be at 100%, it will stop at around 95%, then it will stop charging (the icon still shows charging but the battery life slowly goes down). The only way I can get it to 100% is if I unplug the charger for a few seconds, then plug it back in, then it will charge up full.

I can't find a setting to turn this off. I have haptic feedback turned off. I keep the phone in vibrate mode (ringer volume = vibrate).

View 11 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to get some opinions here about my battery performance to help determine if it's defective and to see if I should return the phone for a new one.Whenever I charge my phone, it gets all the way up to 100% (obviously), but after I unplug the phone the battery will drop down to around a 90% charge level 5 minutes after unplugging it. And that's with no usage at all. I simply unplug it, turn off the screen, and stick it in my pocket. Mobile network is enabled, but bluetooth, wifi, and gps are all off and I don't have any crazy apps running that are draining the battery. Within an hour (with little or no use), the battery will then usually be in the 75% range, sometimes a little lower. I don't think I've made it past 11 or 12 hours yet without the battery dying, even though my usage is pretty light. Any ideas on what is going on? Do you think the battery is just a junky one or is this normal behavior for the phone?

Now after the update - my text notification ringer goes off when I plug in and unplug the charger. I tried turning off the "Notification Ringtone" - and that worked to kill the charger plug/unplug sound - but it also turned off the ring when I get an incoming text. That just will not work - turning that on and off all the time. Is there a way to just disable the sound when the charger is plugged/unplugged?

Each time I want to install the new version of the app on the device I need to connect it, enable USB Debugging, install the app, disable USB Debugging, unplug the device (optional). I was wondering if it was safe to just unplug the device without disabling USB Debugging. After all, the device is not mounted, right? But there is the adb, talking to it. It would be much more convenient to be able to do that. Does anyone know if it is safe or unsafe?

They said there wasn't a hot ticket about this issue and offered me a replacement battery. I suggest everyone call them and let them know this is problem. 8664498358 I refused the battery as I do not believe it is the issue. I told the rep that I just wanted to make the issue known. I suggested everyone call to let them know there are several people with this problem, not so you can try to get a free battery. I also called Verizon to order a spare battery, then I ordered a separate battery charger from fommy.com to deal with this issue until it is fixed. Shame on you to those who thought they could "steal" a battery from HTC.

Its a calendar that is very close to the HTC Sense one.I for one missed the Sense Calender and am happy as can be with this update.Not sure what else was updated since the LP site doesnt have the change log up yet but thats one thing i did notice. View 21 Replies View RelatedI got my htc desire about a month ago and it was no bother connecting it to the internet...worked great....then a few days ago i dropped my phone in a puddle top first and it covered 3 quarters of my phone i dried it off best i could and it work straight away then went all funny and the touch screen wouldnt even work ...but now after leaving it for a few days its fine works all the same apart from the wifi whenever i try to connect to it it says turning on then 30 seconds later error! yet if i connect to my mobile network internet it works.
