Media : Music Volume - Want It Higher
Feb 19, 2009
I find the volume of my mp3 too low sometimes... and couldn't find any equalizer or similar app in android market.
Does anyone know of any app that could turn up the volume, pls?
I know there are all that compliance and FCC stuff also about health care, etc. But it's just that some mp3s are really on a too low volume

I've had the Desire for about 3 weeks now and it's a brilliant phone. However, quite often I listen to music from my Desire through my headphones to help me get to sleep. Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? I've tried apps such as AudioManager but to no avail

add in a script or something to change the volume controls. I would love to be able to set the volume for games at a different level than my music in my music app and would love to have this feature but can't find it anywhere.

On one page of my app there are sounds. Is there a line of code to allow the volume up/down buttons to switch to media volume control for that page of the app only? Or do I need to set it for the entire app, and how do I do that?

I don't know if it's from some app I installed or what. But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

My dad somehow changed his volume control, so it only affects the media volume. Any clue on how to change it back? Instead of Ringer Volume, it says Media Volume on the box that pops up when pressing the volume controls.

I noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

Sync Music to Nexus One using itunes and Windows Media Player. This process automatically creates a Music folder at the root level of the SD card. Hopefully some of you find this useful, especially coming from using iTunes Read more

How To: Properly Sync Music To Android With MediaMonkey | RickyCadden.com from the site: Mount your phone in USB Mode to your computer, and note the drive letter that it is associated Open this drive in Windows Explorer and create the appropriate folders where you want your music stored. I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

I guess no one cares to listen to their favorite music in the order the artist intended? we now listen to timeless classic Opera in whatever order? makes no difference? Classic Rock albums out of order? Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"?

After hours of hit and miss using programs like Double Twist etc. I found that the easiest way to sync music to the iHTC Music player is to use Windows Media Player and buy Album Art Grabber to load the album art. Once you have done the initial sync with WMP you can go back and load individual albums simply by dragging them to the sync area. Connect your phone to the PC and unmount the SD card Open WMP and click the sync tab. Click the drive that represents your SD card (mine was H You will be prompted to sync everything for either this session or all sessions. (I always click this session only). Works great and all I will need in the future!

I've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.
This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped

Media volume is too low on my HTC Incredible, even if turned all the way up. My ringer volume seems just fine though. After reading several posts for other android phones it seems the suggested route is to restore the phone to its original settings. I would rather not lose everything I've installed on my phone.

I think this may be an odd question for some, but I'm hoping to find some sensible way to get finer volume control on my Hero. When I've got the earbuds in and media volume set to minimum it's really still a bit on the loud side when I'm at home, rather than in the noisy outdoors. Has anyone seen something that can do this? I expect it's easy as pie with a rooted device, but I haven't bothered with that just yet.

As much as I knew, There are 4 volume types in Android Phone. They are "Ringer Volume", "Media Volume", "Alarm Volume", and "Volume". But the volumes which are adjustable in Settings are only "Ringer Volume" and Alarm Volume" in Settings - Audio Profiles. I can't find where to adjust "Media Volume" and "Volume".

I've been using the standard media player on my Nexus one since I've gotten it, only loaded music once using simple copy and paste method on the folder level. Problem is I've gotten new music (alot) and I can no longer fit it all on my nexus one.
Before someone mentions it, I've tried using DoubleTwist and I'm not a fan, I've had issues with slow syncing, duplicates, and as a music manager I can't determine the total size of the media I want to sync, can't choose more than all or selected playlists, no artist selections, I can't edit the file tags within the application, and some music isn't removed when I try to remove it from my library (not move to trash)... Overall I'm very unsatisfied.
Needless to say I'm looking for something else to use, something that allows me to rate my music both on the desktop and on my nexus one...and that those ratings actually sync on... this will allow me to determine what I Listen to and thus only transfer that over to my N1.

I'm a brand new HTC Desire user, and on the advice of some friends I've installed Meridian media player and Audiomanager (among other apps, of course). The problem I have is that the minimum volume for media is still too loud for me while listening to music at work. Is there any way I could say, lower the overall volume of the phone? Secondly, what kind of app can people suggest as an equalizer for adjusting bass/treble etc?

I have HTC Desire with Android 2.1 and Windows 7 Premium 32bit. I have created some 3GP videos on the HTC and can play these successfully. When I transfer the file to Windows 7 the playback via Windows Media play doesn't have any sound. Same files playback with volume via iTunes. I'd really like to use these files with Windows Media Player. Is this some sort of codec issue? Why are such task seemingly simple tasks made so difficult?

I did a search but did not find a specific answer to my question:Is there an app/widget to toggle the media volume from mute to ON? Or some other shortcut method to adjust the volume and/or mute the media volume without having to first play media?Another thread said that there was an app for it but it did not state the name and I could not find it on the market.

Looking for quick and easy access to media volume. Its annoying to go into settings everytime to adjust. A nice widget would be like a switch that lets me use my volume rocker for phone and then when I hit the widget, I can use the rocker for media volume and vice versa.

My wife is going to pop out a mini me in about 2 weeks. She wants (desperately) to have an "all natural" birth experience. In order to deal with the pain, she is using a program called "Hypno-Babies", which consists of a series of hypno-induction preparedness CDs, and then a "Birthing" CD to listen to."You feel no pain. Your pelvis is not splitting. Your vagina is not tearing..." I'm being as supportive as possible, as I have a role in this as well, but this is our second, and I know she's going to be asking for the epi about 2 hours into it!She wants to use her Droid to listen to the CD while she is in labor. The problem is that any distraction through the Droid will have an impact on the whole thing. (If the incoming messages notification sounds like a chicken, she might come out of all this clucking!) Well, maybe not that bad, but it will screw up her concentration.I use Sound Manager on mine, but I need to make sure that there's absolutely no chance that my wife's Droid does anything other than behave like an mp3 player.

I realize that even if I set my media volume to max, the media volume output is still very weak.
This issue is not found when my phone is running on Android 2.1
Has anyone seen this issue?
Is this a bug? Is there a fix for this?

I love locale, however I don't see a way to change the media volume. I have a work profile and it shuts off wifi, turns my ringer off, etc. I would also like to turn the media volume off so that if I play a game or start an app with music it won't disturb others. Anyone know if this is possible?

I've found this annoying bug that makes the media volume go to mute and I'm unable to turn it back on unless I restart. It happens if I have headphones in and go a while without listening to music. It doesn't happen every day but the bug does rear its ugly head at least twice a week.
Having same issue with the S3 and Note 2 or any other phones? Both of them are on at&t, not rooted and have the latest OS updates on it.

I am trying to work out if there is an app or a tweak that will join the Media & Ringer Volume together?
So if i adjust one it adjusts the other. (Can even include alarm too if that makes it easier).
