Coming from a blackberry and just switched to the Evo. One of the options available for emails was "Delete on Handheld". This would allow me to remove it from the message list on my handheld, and not on the server (allowing for follow-up later, or typing a quick response and deleting the message, but still having it around for reference if I needed it).

Just got the Incredible, and the only options I see for e-mail using POP3 is to delete mail from server or keep mail on server. Coming from a Blackberry, I was prompted each time I went to delete a mail message with the following: delete from "Handheld" or "Handheld & Mailbox" This way e-mail messages I needed to attend to when I get home from work would be downloaded to my desktop when I opened my mail client (and all the mail I deleted thru the day would be gone when I opened my mail client).

She's annoyed that she cannot delete her Verizon e-mails from the server.. She still needs to actually log onto her account at home and delete the e-mails a second time. I've checked her settings, though was unable to locate a "delete from server".

View 19 Replies View RelatedI did a search and found nothing in the forums that was directly related to this so I started a new thread.I just got my EVO last night.I have two email accounts.A hotmail account, and an Exchange Activesync account.Both are set up and are working fine.Coming from a Blackberry, I am used to deleting the least important emails from the phone as I am on the road, leaving them to be handled later when I am at the computer.My job is email driven so I get 100+ per day from my work account.It is important to me to be able to delete the emails that can wait from the phone, leaving only the most important ones for me to answer while on the road.I called Sprint and after they played with the phone for 20 minutes while on hold, they could not find a way to delete emails from the EVO but leave them on the server for later download by computer.

But if I delete the messages from the phone shouldn't they be deleting from the server as well? I would like to see them gone the next time I actually sign into my hotmail account from my laptop but they aren't. I have to physically delete them again from my laptop for them to actually be gone. Can anyone shed some light?

But I hate the gmail app on the wildfire running android, and really like the mail app.
Problem is, Gmail is currently syncd to both and so if Im not at the phone when I recieve a message notification I will recieve two notifications for the same message (one from gmail, one from mail), and then can view it in both apps. in a nutshell, I want to be synced to gmail, using the mail app, and I need to know how to turn off the gmail app, without losing any syncing etc.
I have managed to set up my HTC Desire with my POP Yahoo account with no problems but when I delete a mail from either Yahoo or HTC the action is not replicated on the other.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using Gmail. When I receive an e-mail, I get the same e-mail twice one in the HTC mail box and the other in the Google mail box. I have tried to delete the HTC mail but it will not allow me. If I go to manage applications and choose HTC mail, I can choose forced stop which temporarily stops the double e-mail. It will always revert back however to receving e-mails. Is there a way to permanently stop HTC mail or delete it permanently?

I was able to open the message and Forward it to myself, but that seemed overly difficult. Is there any easier way to undo the delete?

On my old blackberry I could do this and would not actually delete from my inbox but it would delet from my phone. Is this possible? Although the mail disappears from the list while I'm using the Android browser, when I connect to Gmail on my computer all the mail I thought I had deleted is still there. Also on my storm I had the option to delete the mail only on the handheld or handheld and server. That was great for stuff I needed to address later.

Is there a way to edit/delete the original if an e-mail that I am replying to or forwarding? WM could do it out of the box and the BB could with*forward, reply, edit" app. I find this quite useful.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

On my old droid eris there was an option to "delete mail on server" in my email settings. the inc doesn't have this option.. it is quite annoying that every time i get on my actual computer i have to then go in to my email and delete those emails that i have already deleted on my phone. anyone else hate this problem?
