With the soon arriving Adobe Flash Player 10.1 coming out for 2.1 devices, Do you think the Android system will make a turn for the better supporting flash games and even AIR which will lead us to amazing places. Or do you think that with the low processor speed that Eris has that it will be a "meh" beneficial update that will help with certain webpage views but not full compatibility gaming.

I've tried xtrrom but I couldn't even find the market icon on there. I've tried eris lightning, but it's just not cutting, and i've tried ayori snow and that just plain didn't work. Basically I'm looking for one with the Clock and Weather widget on it and live wallpapers. also what is all of this kernel talk about, i dont even know what that means or does?

My wife and I use the same email, and she gets bombarded with mail that clutters my phone. BB made it easy to delete only on the handheld, but I don't see any such option on the Droid.

I've used the Storm and Incredible. Both phones just aren't as good as the iPod.

Anyone think this is cool? I've looked at it a little bit and really like it; it seems to have real potential to take on Facebook. I like that it just locates you, so more more facebook posts saying, "I'm at the mall." Google seems to really have something here.
View 49 Replies View RelatedA few weeks back I started using the full version of droid live (has another name now but I forget it at the moment) to stream various music and talk radio stations (both national and international) The program worked great, as I was able to easly connect and stream music/talk with virtually no drops. There is one local sports talk radio that I listen to the most. All of a sudden, in the last week or so, live has had serious problems connecting to that one specific station. Once connected however, the program actually works fine with no drops. it just takes repeated attempts to get it to connect. I know it is not a signal issue, as I get great 3G in my home and business. Sent an email to the developer a few days ago and have not heard anything back yet. So do any of you know of any decent programs that might rival droid live?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have BB 0.4 with blue energy theme and chevy 1.1 lv kernel. Along with Launcher Pro. Normally the notification LED will blink when i get a text while doing normal stuff or nothing at all. But when i am gaming the LED doesnt blink. Has any one have a problem with this? Also, when i open a message from the notification bar instead of the message box in the dock. The dock still displays the number of messages unread even after reading it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEmulators are fun and all but, I have just been playing Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. on my iPod Touch and nothing in the android market can touch it. The difference in graphics and game play between the Apple App Store and the Android market is huge. Is it a limitation of other android devices? From what Ive read the Droid has the same (or similar) processor as the iPhone 3GS. I am playing games on the 2nd Gen iPod Touch which has a slower processor and it performs flawlessly. I am not an apple fan boy and have never owned a iPhone. I love my Droid and want to be able to hand my touch to my wife and forget about it. Will the Droid ever get any high quality gaming apps?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have been a verizon wireless customer for 7-8 years, and most recently I have been using a blackberry curve. (My first smartphone) However I haven't been happy with the phone for these reasons:
-Lack of apps
-Very slow
-Poor browser application
I have been looking into the droid ALOT, I just bought my blackberry 3-4 months ago and have already had to return it once (Couldnt get it to recognize any key presses, customer service told me it was a software issue). I am wondering as the droid has just recently came out, is it worth the $360.00 to upgrade? I know with new smartphones there are a ton of potential problems that could be deal breakers, that's why I'm hoping some experienced users can let me know about the main problems with the droid. After reading tons of reviews the only issues I've seen have dealt with the slide out keyboard...but is there anything else, hardware or software wise?
Maybe even some non market apk's ? I'm a broke college student..

I have read all over the place that there are themes available for different ROMs. However, I am having a very difficult time finding them. I am currently running BB 0.4 and wish to install a theme. I have read that smoked glass is a very cool theme.
Can anyone please help me find themes for BB 0.4. Also, if anyone is willing to throw together a post with links to themes for different ROMs, I will be willing to put your thread in the sticky at the top of this forum. I think it would be a good idea for us "noobs" and veterans to be able to easily find a comprehensive list of themes available for the different ROMs floating around.
Coming from a blackberry and just switched to the Evo. One of the options available for emails was "Delete on Handheld". This would allow me to remove it from the message list on my handheld, and not on the server (allowing for follow-up later, or typing a quick response and deleting the message, but still having it around for reference if I needed it).

Coming from a Blackberry, I was prompted each time I went to delete a mail message with the following: delete from "Handheld" or "Handheld & Mailbox" This way e-mail messages I needed to attend to when I get home from work would be downloaded to my desktop when I opened my mail client (and all the mail I deleted thru the day would be gone when I opened my mail client).

Attached is the code for an application containing a TestActivity and a TestWidget. TestActivity extends MapActivity and TestWidget is a simple widget provider which updates a TextView every 2 seconds. Now if the TestActivity is launched with no instance of TestWidget running, it works just fine. But if the TestActivity is launched after placing the TestWidget on the home, it results in ClassNotFoundException. Here is what we get:

So it seems we have an inconsistency in the way the class loader works for the same apk.
WORKS - Launch the application by itself, without invoking the Widget. DOES NOT WORK - Create a Widget on the Home screen and then launch the application from the launcher.

This error is seen on the 1.5r3 SDK. Not sure if this has been addressed in 1.6 and 2.0 SDKs..
Just saw the WP7 launch event via live blogging from WPcentral, and they said that 3D games like ilo and milo (which is like super mario 64/galaxy) runs very smoothly. If these WP7 phones have the 1GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processors, then the Nexus One, HTC Desire, etc which have the same processor can run games of this quality at at the same speed right?

Would anyone happen to know who I can contact concerning some sort of contract on leasing of development phones for this class? The phones do not necessarily need a service, just a way to test development. The instructors and department leaders have said they would need around 20 devices for a small class. They don't imagine it would be larger than that for a new class.
