When I first got my phone, my text messages would light up the phone when they came in.. Now, it only makes a sound and then the notification light flashes. I hate having to turn the phone on to view the messages. Anyone know how to fix this?

So I got the Samsung Moment last Friday and brought it home. After changing the background and getting some random apps (barcode scanner, discovery, zedge, bbc), I noticed the screen kept lighting up randomly 8 to 10 times in a row. Luckily for me, a drunk man smashed my brand new Moment the Sunday after I got it so Asurion sent me another one the next day. The new one does the exact same thing and I want to smash it (even sober). Anyone running into this? I've read on some blogs that people had the same problems when they upgraded.The keyboard sold me on this phone but if this is going to keep happening I'm getting a new one.
View 17 Replies View RelatedWhen the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe house charger that came with my phone in the box works perfect. I plug it in and the phone shows charging and then the screen goes out after the 30 seconds I have it set for while its charging.
I bought a Rocketfish charger from BB to have an extra one I can leave downstairs. When I charge the phone with it, after about 5 minutes the screen lights up on my phone and stays lit until I unplug the charger. Then the phone will go back out like it should.
I though there might be a difference so my nephew gave me his home charger he dont need. Its the charger sprint sent him by mistake for his phone. He has the Blackberry and they sent him the micro-usb wall charger. He gave it to me and when I plug my phone in with that charger the screen lights up and never goes out until I unplug the charger. I dont want to mess up the phone and was just wondering if there is still a difference with the chargers even though they are all micro-usb chargers?
Ive been using hand cent and I love it but I get text notifications from both that and my phone and it makes my phone so leggy, how do i fix this.

One tiny problem though, when I receive a text, I still receive it on the stock messaging app and also on hand cent, so I'm getting 2 notifications for the same text and having to read it in the stock messaging app to clear the notification. One issue I have is that when someone sends you a text it scrolls across the top task bar and also is displayed on the lock screen. When you go into the messaging options you can turn off the notifications in the task bar which works, BUT the LED no longer blinks allowing me to know there is a text. Please not in the settings I still have SMS LED still checked off.
So is there any possible way to get the texts to stop appearing on the phone, while just giving us a simple LED notification that we have a text?
After installing v6 supercharger my chomp sms notifications show up extremely late or don't show until I open the app. What could cause this?

I have problems to put the light positioning in the right place.
When I position the light after glClear and glLoadIdentity as in the code example I have produced and added to this message, there is a flicker like never seen before.
If I on the other hand only set the light position once (in the ), sometimes when I run my app, the scene becomes unlit.
I recently downloaded handcent and I made it my default messenger. When I get a text message I get a notification from Handcent as well as the stock messenger. So my phone vibrates twice and I get two notifications. The only way I can get the notification icon off the top left is to clear it. When I click it, its just takes me to handcent.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have uninstalled all my sms messaging apps except for the default HTC messaging app. Every time I receive a text message, I get 2 audio notifications, and there are two icons on the notification bar. When I pull it down, one of the notifications sends me directly to the message, and extinguishes one of the icons. The other icon simply says "you have an unread message", and when I click on it nothing happens, and the icon never goes away (unless you hit clear) on the notification pull down menu.It seems to me like I have two messaging programs installed, but I have gone over the list of apps for an hour and can't seem to find it.If it helps, the icon looks like a postcard, with a vertical line down the middle., black and white.

At work I am in tons of meetings and conference calls and having a ring tone blast out isn't accepted too well So when I get to work I turn my ringtone volume down to VIBRATE and when I get a call, since I have my phone bare in my pocket, it vibrates and I never miss a call.
But as soon as I change to VIBRATE MODE, all the stuff for NOTIFICATION SOUND under SETTINGS is grayed out. If I go under MESSAGES and SETTINGS, the check box is checked for PLAY NOTIFICATION SOUND and VIBRATE.
I just tested this several times and with the phone in saver mode (screen timed out and is blank), I get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when I get a text message. No vibrate, buzz, blip or anything. If I call my phone it vibrates for the incoming call fine. BUt for a text message... NOTHING!
Since I *HAVE* to use VIBRATE MODE at work, how can I get the phone to notify me when I get a text message? Kind of important to me as an out of state relative was trying to text me information about my mother's surgery and I was not getting any notification on my phone.
Ive had my phone for a bout 4 months and this problem has just started and is driving me to distraction. When i receive a text message i get 2 notifications. I get the normal 1 and now a another 1 saying new message(s) which will clear if i click. Also my text message ringtone plays twice also. I use SMS popup as well, but i have been using that for at least 3 months with no problems.

It goes like this. I just received a text message from a 570 number. I click the notification, and it opens to a new text message draft. I click back, to go to my messages, and there's nothing there. Then I close the messaging app, and my text messaging widget has a little 1, signifying I have a text. I even delete all my text messages, and it's still there.
I do know people from the 570 area code, but why am I receiving ghost texts from them, and how do I fix it?
I noticed earlier that my Home, Menu, Back, and Search buttons decided to start lighting up randomly. It did this on and off for a few minutes. Anyone else seen this happen to their Incredible?
