so I downloaded this app, but now everytime I get a text from someone, I get 2 notifications, one for Handcent and one for the old messaging that came with the phone....did I do something wrong or miss a step?

is anyone getting two different notifications sounds when a text comes using Handcent.on the native app i unchecked notifications. So i don't receive any notifications on the native.But why do i get two different notifications sounds if i disabled the notifications on the native.where is the other notification sound coming from?

So my phone vibrates twice and I get two notifications. The only way I can get the notification icon off the top left is to clear it. When I click it, its just takes me to handcent.

I have cleared data and cache's on both the stock and Handcent apps in my app manager. When trying to delete all threads with my stock program, my phone typically freezes up and forces close. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. This worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago when the default app started generating them. The option is definitely 100% disabled so I have no idea why it is still generating them. It didn't work properly and kept force closing. So i installed chomp. Chomp is amazing and i freakin love it. I still see people talking about hancent so i decided to give it another try last night. My g/f sent me a picture message 3 times and i didnt get a single one of those messages with handcent. it would randomly erase texts as soon as i replied to them. I quickly uninstalled it and ran back to chomp.

IMO, it looks better if you go into Handcent, options, bubble settings, and scroll all the way to the bottom and uncheck start lines of editor box so that it will only be 1 line rather than 2 to start out with. (That's also how it is in the screenshot).
By the way, you must uninstall Handcent and any font packs before installing this modded version. Props to sneaky_zekey over at alldroid.com for helping me figure all this out.
