I have had my Evo since day 1. Sync has worked perfectly until today. It started by syncing hlf my info and then timing out. Then it stopped connecting completely. I blew out HTC sync from my PC, reinstalled the new version from HTC's website, and still not connection. It says it isn't finding HTC Sync on my PC yet is connects to charge and as a hard drive.

Everytime i try, it says 'Sync is currently experiencing problens. It will be back shortly'
Ive had this problem for several days
I also cant download from the Market, the download appears to start & says 'Starting download' but never progresses, i assume this could be to do with the sync not working.
I cant sync my google accounts ('sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shorly)
Google maps says 'no network connection'
Play store says 'server error'
Gmail says 'waiting for sync, your emails will appear shorly'
Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect
I have tried:
turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.
My fb sync will not work with Evil Eris 3.0.. On xda they say it is fixed in 3.0 but it isn't working for me.

Im getting this error starting sync. "This Apllication has Failed to start because the application confirguration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Using USB and mount is working. On my home pc im using Win7 and there is no problem. I need it to work to sync, calendar with Lotus Notes, triede companionlink, but it cost.

It started a few days ago but I can't be specific when.Pc to phone of calendar is fine, contacts sync fine both ways.I debranded from Vodafone and went to Froyo 10 days ago.Could this be the cause?Just installed the latest sync 2.0.33 from HTC - no change.It's a pain because I started using the phone to make work appointments, fortunately spotting the problems before any real damage was done with clients.Has anyone else come across this and if so found a fix?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my Evo to my PC, I get no option asking if I want to mount the SD card as a disk drive. I get no notification at all that my phone is plugged into a PC. Do I need to install HTC Sync before I can do this? The manual does not mention it if so. I have tried changing the default setting from "Charge Only" to "disk drive" but no change. The "Ask Me" option is also enabled.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working with a client's new samsung moment. We set it up for google apps email and Exchange sync through Moxier. All was good and well for a few days, and then the Google/gmail app stopped syncing. In All Accounts, sync, it gave the error ' sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly' We pulled the battery but still does this. I tested other apps that would verify connection - browser, Moxier, etc., fine.
Today the moxier sync for Exchange email, calendar, contacts, tasks would not sync either; just stopped. Again, pulling the battery didn't unstick this.
I am used to the Microsoft phones where this plus a soft reset cured things for a few days. Please advise on a methodology to diagnose.
I would love some help with this if anyone can figure out what's going on. I have the FB for Android app installed. I am rooted with Bugless Beast. I was trying to add FB as a sync account through settings-->accounts & sync, but when I click add account-->FB, nothing happens. Then I logged out of the FB app, and my attempt to add a sync account would bring me to the login screen. I can log in, but the account doesn't show up in my list of sync accounts. And I'm back to nothing happening when I do add account-->FB. When I go to a contact, in the sync and gallery screens both say to log in to FB to link. In the sync screen, nothing happens when I tap. In the gallery screen, it pulls up a loading screen that stays up indefinitely. I uninstalled and reinstalled the FB app, and that made no difference. Right now, I'm syncing my pictures using SyncMyPix, but I would like full integration of my contacts and FB friends. I'd appreciate any help getting this to work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an HTC Desire but i cant make the sync with HTC sync work. After af search of approximatitely 15 seconds a popup on the phone says that it can't find HTC sync on the computer. The USB connection works fine for file sharing. In my hardware monitor (dont know the english word for the window, but that in Control Panel -> System ->??? where you can see all attached devieces) i see a deveice called "My HTC" with a yellow exclamation triangle. I suspect the problem is here, but dont know has to solve it. The HTC sync has all button disabled so i cannot access the "Repair tool" i think there is in the sync manager.
- Disable all firewall(none), antivirus (Norton) and Spyware protection (AdAware) before installing HTC sync.
- Used "Run" -> "msconfig" to disable all non-MS processes and remove all starting app. Then restarted the computer and reinstalled (suggest to HTC to another user)..........
I am subscribed to other calendars when I go on my desktop but have been unable to sync it to my droid. I tried re-syncing my google calendar multiple times and it isn't working.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed I had about 25 duplicate entries for every Google contact and anniversary, synching from my Google Calendar. I unsubscribed from "Contacts & Birthdays and Anniversaries" on my desktop and then did a sync, and as expected it deleted all the birthdays and anniversaries on my HTC Incredible. I then subscribed again to the Google Contacts "Birthdays & Anniversaries" calendar....made sure they were being displayed in the Google Calendar, and then synced the phone again. Nothing. Synced it several times and everything works...even a new test event, but the Birthdays & Anniversaries are not showing up. Any ideas?

I try with 2 kind of wifi + 3gp and nothing, my phone don't want to sync my emails. The strange thing is, when i ask the phone to sync my calender + contacts it's working ok. Initially, my Outlook calendar items also showed up on my Incredible but those calendar items have now disappeared after about three days and any new calendar items entered in Outlook do not appear. Email works fine and contacts entered in either Outlook or the Incredible sync without a problem.

Any changes I do with contacts are however perfectly transfered to my phone. Is this normal ?? Why are the pictures not transferred ?
Also in Gmail and SE sync there is an option to insert birthdays for my contacts, but I cannot see them in my X10. Is there any option for this, because that would be very important for me.

I had the same problem.When i first got my phone I had no problem everything synced into my contacts fine and for some stupid reason i deleted my accounts and when i tried to put them back in it didnt work again. I can get the updates but i cant get the actual contacts in my contact phonebook.SECONDLY NOW my twitter account for some reason has disappeared on its own and when i try to add the account it keeps saying that the login failed. Even when I turn off the phone, the phone uis still awake since it is constantly checking/sync-ing with exchange. I was under the impression that by selecting this type of sync, the items would be "pushed" to the device rather than the device constantly checking if there are new messages, contacts, or calendar eventsto sync. Is this expceted behaviour, or is there some other tweak I need to do? By the way, I just updatedmy phone yesterdey to the latest firmware, and the issue still persist.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSearching around I've found loads of people have the same issue. Suddenly you'll loose access to gmail (unable to load, retry?), market place and sync just shows errors. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FACTORY RESET. Now I've found you can resolve easily by deleting the com.android.providers.settings older entirely via root, then rebooting. at shell type: rm -r /data/data/com.android.providers.settings. THEN REBOOT. You'll loose some settings, ringtones, notifications, screen brightness, but these are easily reset. If when you sync you get a ! you may also have to, or like to, clear the data under settings>apps> for gmail, gmailstorage, contacts,contactstorage, calender, calendarstorage - DO A SYNC FIRST AND CHECK IN YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT ON A PC AS YOU'LL LOOSE ANYTHING NOT SYNC'D. But why do so many devices suddenly bork requiring this? Does anyone know?

It tries for like 5 sec then says "there is a problem with sync, it should work soon, try again" or something like that.�
Now this HAS worked before, even after I updated to 2.1, but now it just wont.�
Think its a great way to keep a backup of the contacts.�
Manual sync for Gmail in the same menu works fine.
I'm implementing my own sync adapter and everything works great. A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.
