For those concerned: I just got off the phone with a Sprint CSR, Kathy, who assured me that Sprint will NOT charge extra for using 4G on your new EVO 4G. So I think we can breathe easy and assume for now that the same plans will *just work*. Calm Down ? Is there a way to send text messages automatically when entering sprint network. Sometimes I send text messages while on the train. I set it to Sprint only to avoid roaming charges. My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?

I have a rooted hero on sprint with unlimited data but I found out that o can tether my xbox but , I worry now Sprint may catch on to my tethering and may surprise me with a high bill since I haven't paid for mobile hotspot Not that I wouldn't but it is not available with my phone . So should I worry ?

I had been using Fresh Rom 2.0d by flipz since last night, and got everything setup, last night I had trouble updating the Profile and PRL so this morning I tried it again and succeeded the PRL update, unfortunately right after the PRL update the Sprint Network never came back. I can ROAM when I switch off Sprint Only but no Sprint Network.What can I do to resolve the issue? Tried resetting the phone to no help, pulled the battery and reset, also attempted to update PRL and Profile again but without Service it won't do either.

Somebody told me they charge over $30, but this guy doesn't know what's the difference between Wifi and Hotspot.I am pretty sure the Hotspot cost around $30, but is Wifi free? or do they charge extra for it.I turned mine on, and put it through the internet connection that I use in my house, so are they gonna charge for that?I would ask them myself, but i am not really in the mood to go through the whole customer service crap. So can you guys help me out if you know?

I have a rooted hero running sprint 2.1. if i run tether too long it gets hot and will not charge(the lights flash green and orange). I have it in a otterbox case. Any ideas on how to keep it cool?

Checking my bank account (Halifax), I seem to have been charged a transaction fee for apps that I have bought on the market, about �1 each time, can any one else confirm they also get an extra charge for purchasing apps? In the UK, would be good to see if this is country specific!

Before I even rooted my phone, my charger was having issues charging. At the end of the part that goes into the phone, the black cord fell back and the wires are exposed. It's been like this since late March/April. I'd have to mess with angling the phone in order for it to charge, but once it did, it was solid. I rooted my phone thursday night and put fresh on it. Then yesterday I decided that it wasn't fast enough and I jumped from CM6 to PureHero. All the while it charged, but I still had to mess with it. Now that I've left it on PureHero (although overall, I still haven't found a satisfactory ROM) my phone won't charge at all. Like, when I finally CAN get the light to glow orange, it'll be stuck at the same percentage. I woke up at like 3 in the morning and discovered this so I kept the battery out for the remainder of the night, woke up and put it back in but it's still stuck at the same percentage. Is it the ROM I'm using? Did I fry my battery somehow? Or is it solely the charger? I want to know before I go and buy a new batter/charger.

I read some things in a search about GPS working overseas, but my question is more on the lines of other apps. Such as translator, Where, text to speak, weather. Basically Im going to Italy soon and want to know if any of these things will work while Im over there to help me along and not be charge some extra fee. I dont plan to make any calls with it.

Was wondering if theres any way to get the fast charge that you get from the wall charger to work with a usb from computer charge. I know its "slower charge" because the computer also allows data transfer and mounting of the sd card, but maybe theres a possible way to shut that off? Also, would a double USB port cord that are used for external hard drives improve charge time at all? Two normal sized USB coming from computer to the miniUSB port on hero.

I posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.

When using the wifi thethering for some reason my Hero will not charge. On the phone it says it is charging but the battery never reaches full capacity. It just stays where it was at before I plugged it in. I am using Fresh 2.0 btw

I have had 3 replacement phones since launch. EVERY TIME I had the warranty replacement done they have charged me an additional $18 activation fee. It appears to be a scam on Sprints part. Watch your bill for this bogus charge then call and make them take it away. You should NEVER have to pay activation on a warranty replacement phone.

i've tried out all the radios to test out which is the best for me..and i devided on the one that was based off the verizon radio..so i got an error message saying "You must be a Sprint Customer to use this feature" so i changed to the newest radio out 2.42.01.04.27 and i still get the same issue..what could it be?

I had the stock ota 2.2 update...followed the 2.2 root exploit and eas running good, until i had problems with my sms text messaging and decided to revert back to stock and now i cant connect to sprint network. i called sprint customer service and had me do a bunch of reset and put in codes and still NO DICE! It is still showing "S-OFF" when i go to HBOOT.

So I've been using my phone for a few days now, both at home, at work and a few other places around town. So far Sprint's network has been unusably slow.Is this normal?For instance, 3G seems to be capping out around .5mbps, often closer to .2mbps, with tons of packetloss. By comparison, on AT&T I was consistently getting 1.5 and 1.8 in the same areas.For anyone that had Sprint before the masses of early Evo adopters deluged Sprint's network, what was your experience?Does .5mbps seem about right?Am I just expecting too much?

Well Sprint pissed of a co-worker of mine after a few days after the 30 day mark and now wants nothing to do with Sprint. He loves the phone but like I said will have nothing to do with Sprint network. So I am wondering if he has any options with using it on any other network by possibly flashing the phone or something.
I believe he has settled everything with Spring paid the early termination fees and payed up on his bills. So does he have any options now?
