HTC EVO 4G :: Sprint Network Status Page
Jun 17, 2010Does anyone know if Sprint has a website to view the status of network issues? My Evo has no data now in Boulder CO and I was wondering if it is my phone or the Sprint network.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Mobile Network Status
Apr 30, 2010I have a quick question for all you geeks here, I was reading a thread about updating the PRL, and when I decided to check what version I was on I also noticed that while scrolling down that the mobile Network State says disconnected, is this normal? I know I have my mobile icon turned on, any input would be great, and also what does updating the profile do?

Jul 5, 2010I seem to be seeing an issue with the data network access on the EVO. When it happens none of my applications get internet aceess and my mobile network status says "turning on". The only way I've found to fix it is to pull the battery. Any one else seeing this? If so is there a better fix than pulling the battery?

Nov 17, 2010It says I have full bars but I can't even use the internet because it takes minutes just to load up pages and half of the time it says web page is unavailable. Sometimes it won't even send text messages and calls are breaking up and its hard to hear them.

Feb 23, 2010I just bought an Eris on eBay and switched to Page Plus from Verizon last week. I probably should have waited, but didn't know about 2.x. Anyway, does anyone know if PPC would get the updates as well, since they use VZW's network? I'm guessing no, they would have to set up their own distribution, but don't really know. If not, the only hope I have is for it to be rooted and flash the ROM (or whatever), right? So I should add to the bounty, right?

Jul 13, 2010I need to connect to an institutional wireless network whose only security is achieved thanks to a login webpage. Once I'm connected to the wireless network, the first thing that I can do is to go to the login webpage. The problem is that most applications do not support this kind of login procedure, and therefore find no internet access (`connection problem' is written on my screen when I want to use the wireless network for surfing). Is there a workaround to this.

Jun 25, 2010I am writing an app that connects to a telnet server via wifi. I have a service that manages the socket connection. It all works fine, but when the phone sleeps it disconnects the wifi radio, which causes the socket connection to break (and throws a SocketException). I feel like I should be able to set up a a broadcast receiver whose onResume() method is called when the wifi network connection is lost, and that would allow me to gracefully shut down the socket, and re-open it if the network is immediately re-connected. But I can't find anything like that in the doc or via searching.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Connected To WiFi Network - Page Cannot Be Displayed
Apr 28, 2010I bought this x10 two days ago. I am not still able to make Internet work on it via WiFi. Tasks I performed:
1. Updated X10 to the latest firmware.
2. Connected to My WiFi Network and given the authentication details.
3. Connection status is connected in X10. (There is no problem in connecting to my WiFi Network for X10).
4. I went to Browser and typed Google its coming as "Page Cannot be Displayed"
Problem is: X10 is connecting to WiFi but Cannot Browse. I tired even Use Static IP and gave DNS and gateway even.
HTC Hero :: Phone Status Displaying Old Number After Porting From Other Network
Dec 10, 2009Not really a "problem" per se, but an annoyance.I ported my number across to Orange from Voda but in the Phone Status the MSISDN field is still displaying the old number. It's not that I can't remember my number (it's a memorable no. which is why I wanted to keep it), but it's annoying me as I can't seem to get this field to reflect the change.I've tried rebooting it after leaving the SIM out but no difference.Is this just a "bug" or is it something Orange will have to fix/update for me by sending a request to my SIM or something?

Dec 3, 2009Ever since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?

My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?

Apr 27, 2010I had been using Fresh Rom 2.0d by flipz since last night, and got everything setup, last night I had trouble updating the Profile and PRL so this morning I tried it again and succeeded the PRL update, unfortunately right after the PRL update the Sprint Network never came back. I can ROAM when I switch off Sprint Only but no Sprint Network.What can I do to resolve the issue? Tried resetting the phone to no help, pulled the battery and reset, also attempted to update PRL and Profile again but without Service it won't do either.

Jan 25, 2010I know how to use the Normal 3 Page android view v. 7 Page sense. I like HTC sense but think that the icons are getting boring, I downloaded the droid icons (2.0 icons) and used better cut to change it. But it will not work with HTC Sense so i am using the 3 Page android one. My question is, is their any download in the market or online that lets you add the Sense widgets to the normal android screens. I have astro file explorer and will try to search for the widgets in the htc folder and copy them to the android widgets folder.

Nov 9, 2010I installed the wireless tethering app today and decided to play with it for the heck of it, I was able to set it up, and when I went to my laptop and hit refresh I was able to see the network, I then tried to connect and it would not connect, as it said something about a 13 key ascii so I checked to see and checked the password and still could not connect got the same error message, i then decided to disable the encryption and then refresh the network and tried to connect again, I was able to connect but was not able to open a page up, now i don't know if that was because my reception was not great but still would not open a web page, any suggestions, another note, it rebooted the phone about 3 times and froze the phone once, I am on the AOSP Mod ROM V 0.9.7. I know the Cat mentioned he got his to work, just curious if it was with this Rom or the CM6 one, any input would be great, just want it as a backup incase of in a bind.

Sprint HTC Hero : Unknown Yellow Away Status Notification Icon For AIM
Oct 16, 2009There's an icon in the notification bar that is shaped like the yellow away status icon for AIM in the IM app, and I'm not sure why it's up there. I've tried signing in, signing out, force stopping, and clearing data, but it won't go away. Any suggestions or help?
