There's an icon in the notification bar that is shaped like the yellow away status icon for AIM in the IM app, and I'm not sure why it's up there. I've tried signing in, signing out, force stopping, and clearing data, but it won't go away. Any suggestions or help?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHope this isn't a repeated noob question. I searched through the forum and couldn't find this topic.I have this mysterious icon on the HTC Hero's task/status bar. It showed up on the 2nd or 3rd day after getting the phone. It looks like a yellow sheet of paper with a dog-ear in the bottom-left corner. I had installed a couple of notepad apps and uninstalled all except for one called Note Me. I've checked Task Manager and it doesn't appear to be running. Deleted all notes in Note Me, checked its options, and the author's web page doesn't show this icon.Pocket your world - Home of software solutions for your iphone, gPhone and Blackberry Anyone recognize this icon? It's left of center in the attached photo. I drew a red arrow pointing to it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use handcent, and that is my default messenger.Now, I have already turned off the notification for MMS/SMS in my sounds and notifications system settings, but it still pops up from the stock app.Why?I wouldn't mind it poping up, but when I click on it, it doesn't go away, I have to always use clear notifications, but anyways, yeah its turned off, and still doing it.
View 13 Replies View RelatedA few days ago the GPS notification icon started popping up at the top of my screen at random without me even running an app that requires GPS. I have tried to kill any app that potentially uses GPS with taskiller, disabling GPS all-together, and rebooting my phone to get it to go away. The only temporary solution I have found is to enter and then exit google maps. That works for a little while but then, bam, out of nowhere the little satellite icon appears again. I don't mind if it is just a little glitch and my GPS isn't actually being accessed, but if it is, that is a serious hit to my battery life. I haven't noticed a dramatic change in battery life since it started happening but I do seem to get less time out of the phone. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is it a big deal and how do you fix it?

But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view.
Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.
Is it possible to show one icon in the status bar, but when the user pulls down the Notification List, to have a different icon display there? (ie, one for the Intent and one for the status bar?)

I know that you can permanently hide all notifications of an app via app info, but what I am looking for is something that will allow me to only hide any icon from the status bar, but the notification will still be there when I pull down the notification shade.
I currently use a ROM that has this feature, and I have yet to find it implemented in any other way or through any other ROM. I would love to go back to stock or an AOSP rom and use only Xposed modules, but this is the only thing that is stopping me. This feature is absolutely vital in my opinion in my everyday use.
You can see this feature in the screenshot below. When I long press any notification when I select the Hide status bar apps notification icon, the icon will not show up. As if it either replaces it (which I believe it does with a transparent dot) or just as useful would be to change the priority of the notification to low.
This just amazes me that I can't find anything else that does this. I'm hoping there is some type of xposed module that can replicate this feature, or anything really. If only i could find the code in the source of the rom myself to compile it into stock or something... Nexus 5
You know what I'm talking about: for example when you get multiple new emails the notification icon in the status bar is augmented with a little red circle that contains number of unread mails. Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to see if anybody had some advice on the 1.29-1.56 update. I have tried several times including multiple hard resets to get my device to update. Each time the update downloads successfully but after the phone restarts and shows the progress bar unzipping the package it stops halfway and shows the phone with a triangle and a yellow exclamation point.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a search and nada. When I get a missed call I get the icon on the status bar. When I hit phone button it shows me who called me and return the call. However, the icon is still there. I have found that I have to go into the 'people' contact list and look the person up and then press the 'call history' in order for the icon to go away. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been dealing with this for quite a while - I'm finally just getting fed up with it to the point where I'm actually doing something about it. I use GV exclusively probably half of the entries in my phone history appear as "unknown". Its also hit-or-miss if the contact's name appears when i dial out or when they're ringing in. Also, when me and another contact call each other back and forth several times, sometimes their info appears, sometimes they appear as "(unknown)" -- its baffling me.

PROBLEM: Even in areas that I know I have great Sprint coverage, my phone is not connecting to the network and I have no phone signal - "No Service". (WiFi works fine.)
This is the second time this has happened. The last time was last week - I had just installed about 5 new apps (games), rebooted the phone, and I had "No Service". I uninstalled the new apps, rebooted, and service was regained.
Tonight, I didnt install anything NEW, but a handful of apps had updates (Where, Twidroid, Voice Recorder, TWiT.tv, Depth of Field Calculator.)
Actually, now that I think of it, that was my first reboot since I installed ShopSavvy.
I'll uninstall ShopSavvy and Voice Recorder - I dont use the recorder at all - and see where that gets me. But does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only lucky one?

It was right about the date/time stamp and looked like an x button. I was thinking maybe it meant the conversation had reached a limit because no matter how many additional texts I sent or received from this person, the number stayed the same (204). But when I restarted the phone, the icon had gone away and the number started increasing again.

It's my first smartphone (and touchscreen) Im not too familiar with any of the lingo that Im sure is needed to get my question answered, BUT...
My phone went through an update NOV 13th. When I woke up it was like having a new phone. Im comfortable with it now, but I dont really know what any of the icons that appear in my (text) message threads are.
I had a few red triangles with "!" exclamation points pop up. After some online research I found it to mean a message had not sent. I learned how to delete them and everything has been okay, no icons off to the side of message threads except the attachment paperclip. Until today. I was conversing back and forth with my dad via text. After I had sent my last message to him a blue box with a white 1 (one) in it came up next to the message thread. this box only appears when im in the message home screen, that shows all the message threads, not when that specific thread is open. Along with the box, at the top of the message screen, where it says "messages" with the "+" off to the right hand side there is a blue 1. Im sure its related to the blue box/white 1, considering it was not there prior.
I use my htc rezound as a business telephone line . 90 percent of the people calling me will not be on my contact list. I hate that's all I see is unknown caller title and the generic icon show up I actually have to struggle to see the very small phone number of the general customer phone number calling in. my recently called list is full of unknown callers. all I see is just those general icons an unknown callers I have to struggle to see my recently call list phone numbers. Any way to set up.just to. show me the callers phone numbers?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have the widget set up to where it is a scroll box of all my friends and stuff but on one of my friends, it has an icon on the bottom right hand corner of her pic and i dont like it. i always clicked on her name instead of the pic but is there a way to get rid of the icon? i tried removing the widget and replacing and it is still there. i hit menu and hit widget action but all it gives me is send message, view contact, etc and i dont want it to do any of that becuase the little icon ruins the pic.

I installed a few apps I used before and love Hancent SMS. With the Moment when I opened the on screen keyboard there was an icon on the keyboard for TTS, on the Hero I dont see that. Am I missing something? Do I do it differently?
