Samsung Epic 4G :: Recieving Pictures With Wifi On?

So I have just traded in my HTC Evo for the Epic 4G. So far its been pretty nice to me but then again I have only had it for a couple hours. One thing about my phones is that I use WiFi more a lot. When I seem to have wifi on and someone sends me a picture through text, it wont download the picture unless I turn WiFi off. Is there anything I can do to change this? Is this happeneing to everybody? The EVO you could have wifi on and it would still download pictures and what not. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry if there was another thread about this, I searched and couldnt find.

One of the selling points of the Epic 4G is the 5mp Camera it has.. Gizmodo rated better than the iphone's and even though, it doesn't have 8 mp (Evo), its 5 mp picture has a higher quality than Evo's.
Please post your pictures and if you can use some of the photo apps available ( Fxcamera, Retro cam, Camera Illusion, Vignette, Photostitch), it will give us a better idea of how good the camera and apps are.

I know this phone has a good camera. However I have noticed that unless I keep the phone perfectl motionless the images will be blurry. same thing goes if I am shoting a person who is slightly moving. Is this just my settings?

I had my pictures transferred from evo to my new epic and it somehow downloaded my picasa pictures and can not figure out how to remove them from my gallery.

A quick couple of questions about facebook on th Epic. First, how come all the pictures I upload to facebook are sideways? No matter what I do they upload sideways? Its slightly annoying. Second, is there a way to upload more than one at a time?

is there not a way to upload a batch of pictures to facebook? I'm in the gallery, and I can make it split out the pictures by date; fun...so I click that grouping of pictures and want to upload it to facebook...share only allows to bluetooth, picasa, email, gmail or messaging...no facebook...And if I try to go through facebook app to do it, I can only upload one photo at a time. there has to be a way to upload more than one photo at a time...

When in the camera and you hit the play button to review pictures, all pictures on the phone come up instead of just the ones i've taken with my camera. Is there a setting to change for this? Do i need to move my photos to a specific folder to avoid this? Right now i have all my pictures in the "media" folder. The camera pictures are in the DCIM folder. So how can this be changed?

Does anyone notice that when you send a picture via email or facebook it freezes your phone?! I notice that every time I send a picture via email or Facebook it freezes the phone for about 30 seconds or so and won't let me do anything.

Can't remember if this was working before I had to do the factory reset on my Epic, but I think it was. I have my Facebook account synced and it shows the pictures under my call log, contacts, dialer, but does not show the contact pictures in my text messages? Anyone know how to fix this, it really annoys me seeing a bunch of empty picture slots when looking at my text message list.

Just received my Epic via the little Brown truck yesterday, and I'm loving most everything about it so far.One niggle is the gap between the 'top' half of the phone (the sliding part with the screen) and the chrome trim ring is variable.While resting camera down on a table, the gap is consistent all around. but if you were to hold the device by the 'top' part, the gap along the side where the volume buttons are grows to almost the thickness of a quarter ($0.25). It's almost if it's wobbling on the slider mechanism, when the slider is CLOSED (unlike when open, as in other posts).Another niggle is that the button to the left of the HOME button is not equally lit across the image (looks like a page).It's almost as if the image fades from left (bright) to right (dim).Finally, the camera is completely crap. Even in a well lit office environment, the image that is centered and 'focused' before the shutter falls comes out blurred and ugly.Strangely, the background is crystal clear.Flash or not makes no difference.Otherwise, all my pixels are lively, the function keys on the bottom are all equally responsive to the touch I would expect to make them work, and voice quality is great.So is my experience unique, like the device is a lemon, or is it consistent with this gizmo?

I was excited to use the new phone specifically for the wifi hotspot. I could not believe when it did not work right away that I needed to tack an extra 30 a month in order for sprint to activate the thing.
So I am wondering if there is a better way to use the phone as a wifi hotspot without haveing to eat the service charge. I seen something about a way that involved root access which I could probably do but I was hoping there was a better way or maybe going to be a better way with android 2.2?

my husband currently has the Epic. Picked it up for him launch day and sent it out to Iraq the next day. He received it today.He had an Evo before the epic and never had this issue. the issue he's having is, obviously he doesn't pick up sprint service out in iraq, but with his evo he was able to pick up wifi and connect to google talk, qik, etc.his epic is allowing him to connect to a wifi signal, but it won't allow him to connect to google talk, qik, etc. it keeps saying "can't connect to server". like i said, he never had this issue with the evo.

I had a HTC Touch Pro 2 (didn't like WinMo) and I could 'turn off' the 3G connection, and instead 'turn on' WiFi. Is it that Android doesn't offer this option or is there some way to make this happen that I am missing?

Just bought my Epic over the weekend, love it so far.
However, the WIFI will connect, obtain an IP address but doesn't work. Pages wont load, marketplace wont connect etc.
Home network is WPA2 TKIP and AES
Work network is wide open
I tried kicking it into airplane mode and then turning airplane mode off, doesn't seem to matter.

I just got my epic last week and had it rooted within hours. I have to say, I do love this phone. But I have noticed a slight inconvenience. I have installed the wireless tether app, and it works like a charm. No problem connecting other gadgets to it. But once I'm done tethering, and switch back to using wifi, the phone doesn't seem to want to connect to my home's wifi. I've tried reseting the phone, manually killing the tether app, and force closing the app under the applications tab in settings. But still no connection. Eventually, after 30mins or so, th phone will be able to connect once again. Has anyone else had this issue? It just seems somewhat of an unexpected problem, and a minor inconvenience. Any information on this or a possible fix would be greatly appreciated.

Will it be possible to tether the epic 4g to a laptop (perhaps through USB) instead of using the wifi hot spot capability? The wifi router/hot spot option is an additional $30 a month and I don't anticipate I will need the option often enough to justify the cost. Is there an option to tether epic4g without the wifi hot spot option?

Does anyone else experience SERIOUS lag while recieving SMS? My phone will literally freeze for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute while it processes an incoming SMS. The problem is terribly worse if I am recieving multiple messages simultaneously.I am currently using Handcent SMS(NEW) with the quick reply on.

Long time reader, first time poster here. How does one know if the Epic is using the wifi connection as opposed to using the 3G connection? When wifi is connected both that and the 3G connection shows at the top. So which one is in control per se? And how can it be verified?

I'm pretty sure my home screen would do landscape with keyboard closed the first couple of days I had the phone and now it wont do it unless the keyboard is out. Anyone else have the same issue?
