I rooted my phone the other day and today my SD card was acting up. I had another 8gb card that I swapped in there. Will it have any effect on my root and do I need to do anything to it. Or can I just go on like normal?

I have just used the instructions on this forum to first root my phone, and then install New 2.2 on to my desire. What a improvement in performance and Shockwave flash works. But I can't install on to my SD Card at all. If I download a app from the market (or my pc) which is set to install on extrenal storage (SD Card), it downloads and the installation fails. I also can't use APP 2 SD as when I try and copy to memory it fails. so if I then unmount my SD Card, and install the same app, it installs and works fine. So do I need to do something to my SD Card?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the htc magic and its been acting up as of late. It's been running super slow, taking over a minute or more to load the home screen after running apps at times. My most recent, and worst problem, is every time I get a text message and go to turn of the display, it won't light up but instead shows the android loading screen (the one when you turn the phone one.) Sometimes ill already have it on and when I click the text box in the messaging app to reply, it does the same thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? If not, I'm going to look into getting a new one or just switching to a phone with less hassle.

Recently after killing all the apps that are running besides a few like messages and mail. Then ill lock my phone not use it or just text go back and look at the atk and there are so many apps open like as if the phone had just restarted. Music is open, clock, droid, facebook, and a whole long list. Why is it doing this? its slowing my phone down with all these random apps just opening.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi bought head phones (( gold tips )) and a 3.5 male to male stereo audio cable (( non gold tips )) to play my muisc player on a big stereo.So heres the problem when i first plugged it in my music would glitch , a head set icon came up not the head phone then the pic of the album cover would flip 6 times then jump the play list all the way to the end but the playlist wasnt ON random that sh*t broke my heart.Y my EVO ? anyway i called sprint and there advanced tect lol basiclly told me 2 take the batt out wait 3 min then put it back, so then i hooked it back up and it worked 4 a few minutes then started jumpin again.so sick to my stomach i just started pluggin it in and out (( slowly )) until the head phone icon came up and it would play PERFECT> oh and my gold tip head phone work great from the start.

I successfully rooted the phone and it was working fine until my internet stopped one morning and upon restarting the phone, it wrote SIM1: SIM card not detected, SIM2: sim card not detected. I have tried all I could yet no avail as I can't use SIM card in the phone. I used MTK droid tool but nothing could be done, also entering engineering mode with ##4636##, the radio remained permanently turned off and couldn't turn on. I used IMEI tools to rewrite and replace the NVRAM files yet nothing happened. it has been very frustrating trying to find a solution but none found. WIFI and bluetooth still work fine.

Now what? i cant install terminal emulator either. i want to do it this way so i do not use up the space on the fone.For some reason i think it will start going slow again if i dont. any advice on what your setups are? what have you safely removed? is it ok to remove MyFavs? how about the cube? is there anything todo to speed it up a lil? or make it so it doesnt slow down at all?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've tried and tried again using RA and other linux based programs (GParted) to get my 8GB card to partition for apps2sd. Everything always runs smoothly and shows that the card is partitioned correctly. But then upon reboot the SD card shows full fat32 memory (6.9 GB). No matter what I do, after reboot, the partitions never happen. When I used GParted, and then loaded the SD card on the phone it always says that the SD card is damaged and I need to reformat. I've done that and rerun everything to no avail. Someone please tell me this issue is that the SD card is corrupted and I should give up. Because I've followed everything to a T as far as partitioning. With that I'll say that I had no problems rooting my phone, flashing ROM's/RA's, etc, and have been able to do whatever I want as far as new things to load. I've finally decided after all this time to do apps2sd, and I literally screwed around for 5+ hrs today, trying to partition the SD card properly. Any thoughts?

When I try to use the Droid while connected to the computer through the USB (not mounted), the touchscreen is acting up. For example I press the home button and it thinks I pressed something on the screen instead. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what might cause it (maybe some malfunctioning app?). It gets back to normal as soon as I unplug it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust recently I've been noticing my Wi-Fi toggle widget acting up. It seems like it doesn't want to turn on my wi-fi for some reason. I've tried both stock wi-fi widgets and when I press them I see the green switch flip, but no wi-fi goes on. Only when I go into Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi Settings do I see "out of range" suddenly disappear and then I'm connected. My wi-fi won't turn on unless I actually watch it do so. Has this happened to anyone else?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was one of the "few" users who wouldn't complain about the 2.1. update on their Hero and my phone was working fine, until I installed Launcher Pro. Yes, my phone become even more responsive and I was actually glad with the new home launcher. But for some reason after installing that, and even though my phone was more responsive, my phone ringtones wouldn't go off whenever I would get a text message or a call. Not even the alarm would go off and thanks to that, I've been late to work lately lol But anyway, I decided to uninstall LP and now HTC Sense launcher forcloses every time it tries to load, so my phone is sort of useless now because I can't even open any other app. I already did a soft reset, removed the battery and HTC Sense is still foreclosing. I've been thinking that the best thing to do is doing a hard reset, but is there anything else I can do to fix this without doing a hard reset to my phone? BTW, my phone has the 2.1 update, the very first one released by Sprint and hasn't been updated again after that and my phone is not rooted.

Following an sms w/ an attachment I received, the phone has been acting very strange and I need your help.Ok, I'll try to make this as clear as possible. So, because I'm on pay as you go, I have two apn options, one of which is fake, so that i can change from/to the proper apn settings whenever I want and the phone doesn't automatically connect for any reason if I don't want it to (so as to avoid paying). I was on wi-fi most of the time anyway. This was working perfectly for me, until.About 3 weeks ago, I received a txt message from 1550 (which, I think is orange's spambot) with the word "RockCorps" and an attachment. I accidentally clicked "download" and then clicked cancel as soon as I realised. I'm not sure if anything downloaded at all, nothing I noticed.HOWEVER, following that exact message, suddenly, although I was on the "null", fake apn, my phone went on gprs. I could see the icon and the NetSentry app recorded activity as well. I have NO clue what it was trying to download or upload at all.
I went into the apn switching screen to make sure I wasn't still on proper GPRS from the last time, but the selected option was the fake apn, which, up to then, gave me no data. No settings had changed on the fake apn, but it seems that even without selecting it, the fact that I had the proper apn listed enabled mobile data.
Mines stuck at 81 and sunny.Its actually. Night and raining lol. I've updated it and reinstalled the last few days. Anyone else having probs?

Is it ok then to format the card if its only 2gigs to being with and root it that way? Sorry sounds confusing, I'm just wondering if 2gigs is enough.
