HTC Droid Eris :: Why Phone Acting Up Again?

Ok so I have atk on my phone and every now and then I will go in to look and see what apps are running. Recently after killing all the apps that are running besides a few like messages and mail. Then ill lock my phone not use it or just text go back and look at the atk and there are so many apps open like as if the phone had just restarted. Music is open, clock, droid, facebook, and a whole long list. Why is it doing this? its slowing my phone down with all these random apps just opening.

Whenever I'm using the eris it seems to be messing up 80% percent of the it freezes up completely on me, it scrolls by itself, and when m texting it loves to just stop working...I use this eris as my work phone i have to text my boss a lot and with my phone screwing up sometimes it takes me 10 min. just to send a text..also i performed a factory reset and my phones still doing the same exact thing..what should i do?

Has anyone had a problem with there trackball acting like it was moving on its own??? Occasionally my phone will start scrolling down a page on It's own like I'm using the trackball. Verizon said they are not aware of this issue. Anyone have this problem???

Hopefully someone has had this problem. My phone has just recently started to have this problem. When I am at the home screen, my phone will begin to swipe to the left by itself even when my finger is nowhere near the screen. When tilting the phone or aggravating the accelerometer, it begins to do it more. Also, some of the icons are selected green by itself (but not actually selecting the icon if that makes sense).
Argh, I really don't want to hard reset (not even sure if that'll fix it).

Well ever sense i downloaded the mui rom and and went back to what i originally had my phone has been acting really werid . Here i will explain Every time i go in recovery to install a new rom /theme/ kernal or w/e i keepp getting this E:can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 also can't mount sd card.it does this 2 or 3 times before it actaully works , i was wondering is there anyway to fix this also is other people experiencing it or just me ????

Maybe its just my phone acting "special" but if I open the browser and allow Google to find my location (its my home page) then the browser will close while trying to find where I am.
If I stop it before it gets to that part and open a different page or just decline the website's ability to find my location then it will stay up and running without further issue.
Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions? I've cleared all cache, cookies, etc etc. Maps works fine and finds my exact location so I'm just kinda uuhhhh not sure

I have the htc magic and its been acting up as of late. It's been running super slow, taking over a minute or more to load the home screen after running apps at times. My most recent, and worst problem, is every time I get a text message and go to turn of the display, it won't light up but instead shows the android loading screen (the one when you turn the phone one.) Sometimes ill already have it on and when I click the text box in the messaging app to reply, it does the same thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? If not, I'm going to look into getting a new one or just switching to a phone with less hassle.

i bought head phones (( gold tips )) and a 3.5 male to male stereo audio cable (( non gold tips )) to play my muisc player on a big stereo.So heres the problem when i first plugged it in my music would glitch , a head set icon came up not the head phone then the pic of the album cover would flip 6 times then jump the play list all the way to the end but the playlist wasnt ON random that sh*t broke my heart.Y my EVO ? anyway i called sprint and there advanced tect lol basiclly told me 2 take the batt out wait 3 min then put it back, so then i hooked it back up and it worked 4 a few minutes then started jumpin again.so sick to my stomach i just started pluggin it in and out (( slowly )) until the head phone icon came up and it would play PERFECT> oh and my gold tip head phone work great from the start.

I was one of the "few" users who wouldn't complain about the 2.1. update on their Hero and my phone was working fine, until I installed Launcher Pro. Yes, my phone become even more responsive and I was actually glad with the new home launcher. But for some reason after installing that, and even though my phone was more responsive, my phone ringtones wouldn't go off whenever I would get a text message or a call. Not even the alarm would go off and thanks to that, I've been late to work lately lol But anyway, I decided to uninstall LP and now HTC Sense launcher forcloses every time it tries to load, so my phone is sort of useless now because I can't even open any other app. I already did a soft reset, removed the battery and HTC Sense is still foreclosing. I've been thinking that the best thing to do is doing a hard reset, but is there anything else I can do to fix this without doing a hard reset to my phone? BTW, my phone has the 2.1 update, the very first one released by Sprint and hasn't been updated again after that and my phone is not rooted.

So, I'm an HTC Magic user, I bought my phone unlocked from Greece and use it in the UK on Orange pay as you go. Following an sms w/ an attachment I received, the phone has been acting very strange and I need your help.Ok, I'll try to make this as clear as possible. So, because I'm on pay as you go, I have two apn options, one of which is fake, so that i can change from/to the proper apn settings whenever I want and the phone doesn't automatically connect for any reason if I don't want it to (so as to avoid paying). I was on wi-fi most of the time anyway. This was working perfectly for me, until.About 3 weeks ago, I received a txt message from 1550 (which, I think is orange's spambot) with the word "RockCorps" and an attachment. I accidentally clicked "download" and then clicked cancel as soon as I realised. I'm not sure if anything downloaded at all, nothing I noticed.HOWEVER, following that exact message, suddenly, although I was on the "null", fake apn, my phone went on gprs. I could see the icon and the NetSentry app recorded activity as well. I have NO clue what it was trying to download or upload at all.
I went into the apn switching screen to make sure I wasn't still on proper GPRS from the last time, but the selected option was the fake apn, which, up to then, gave me no data. No settings had changed on the fake apn, but it seems that even without selecting it, the fact that I had the proper apn listed enabled mobile data.

When I try to use the Droid while connected to the computer through the USB (not mounted), the touchscreen is acting up. For example I press the home button and it thinks I pressed something on the screen instead. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what might cause it (maybe some malfunctioning app?). It gets back to normal as soon as I unplug it.

I rooted my phone the other day and today my SD card was acting up. I had another 8gb card that I swapped in there. Will it have any effect on my root and do I need to do anything to it. Or can I just go on like normal?

Just recently I've been noticing my Wi-Fi toggle widget acting up. It seems like it doesn't want to turn on my wi-fi for some reason. I've tried both stock wi-fi widgets and when I press them I see the green switch flip, but no wi-fi goes on. Only when I go into Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi Settings do I see "out of range" suddenly disappear and then I'm connected. My wi-fi won't turn on unless I actually watch it do so. Has this happened to anyone else?

Whenever I open the "phone interface" to make a call, everything becomes much more sluggish, i.e. when I hit dial, or speakerphone button, there's an input lag. Droid Eris on 1.5.

I am displaying search results from a webservice.What I do is OnCreate I hit the webservice display records, as android supports multitasking. If user opens another screen and after some time comes back to the search results page, the application starts acting crazy.

I am going to try taking my eris in to get it exchanged because of the silent phone problem. I am on leak 3. I have some questions first though.
- Will I even be able to have a legitimate complaint if I am on a leaked version?
- Will a new eris come with 2.1 or 1.5?
- if the new eris has 2.1 what are the chances of this happening again?
I cant stand having to reboot to use my phone as a phone.

Is there any way to get the stock Android Messaging app on the Eris? I hate the HTC messaging app; it's so slow and leggy. I also hate Handcent and Chomp. Is there any way I could get the stock Android SMS app? Or does this require rooting or what?

I was wondering what was the best SMS/MMS app everyone was using or are most of you using the default messaging on the Eris? I've been hearing different reviews regarding the Handcent vs. Chomp. Is there anything else out there that is pretty good? I actually like the default messaging on the Eris because it shows my pic and the contact's pic during the conversation. The only thing I really don't like is that you don't know when you reach your 160 characters because it doesn't have a counter (or does it and I don't have it activated maybe?).

How do I power the phone off? Is there a manual somewhere out there? Mine only came with a book called 'Tips, Hints and Shortcuts.' I have a mac... is there anyway to sync this to my computer? Also how do I put files onto the phone... I have mounted the phone onto computer and can see it but I don't know where to put the files. When using the phone, can you rename folders? How do you manage these folders? Also is there a way to remove all the crap software that comes loaded.... amazonmp3, no thanks!.... Peep, no thanks!.... I read about "rooting" but this seems complicated, is there maybe an application that does it for you?

Anyone noticed how HOT their phone gets when using the Navigation option on Android 2.1 ? The navi app must be a CPU hog or maybe they've increased the power on the GPS module (isn't it an all-in-one chipset though ?). Try it for even a 1/2 hour and I think you'll be surprised at the temperature.

I recently took my phone from Froyo and loaded back the stock 2.1 build.. This was yesterday and the phone has been fine But about an hour ago 3G no longer connects and I cant do any text messages. Any idea what could be wrong. I am re flashing 2.1 back on the phone again right now to see if that makes a difference..

I just bought a used Eris off of Ebay to hold me over until January or so. It came rooted with the XTRsense rom, overclocked, apps2sd, etc. The phone runs great and the battery life seems decent, however, it won't charge. When I plug it in, the battery icon shows that it's charging, but when I unplug it, the battery is still at the same percentage. I left it charging overnight last night, and it was still at like 40% life this morning. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? If it's hardware related, I don't mind popping it open if it saves me from dealing with the hassle of returning this phone and going back to my Storm.

Just updated my prl per another thread which incidently didn't change and now I have the dreaded 50% without signal bug as well as awake and up time at 100%!I am a newbie and have no clue what to do as my phone was fine until I updated the prl (which didn't change!).
