Cd player just says "no music". Is this cause of being rooted? Is there anything I can download to get it working?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Hero this morning - its my first smartphone and I am very impressed. I saw some fairly damning reviews online, but when I trialled it I was hooked. Superb device A+ so far, except for this little problem which I think is probably linked to my Laptop rather than the Hero... I have plugged it into my Laptop via USB. Vista found the drivers, installed all well and good. However, if I click on Removable Disk (F I get an error stating that there is no disk in the drive and please insert one. I've tried re-installing the drivers using the ones available online, and nothing. I've also installed HTC Sync which simply doesn't find the device despite being plugged in. The Hero reckons it is connected, complete with USB symbol and HTC sync symbol. So what have I done wrong? I've tried all the obvious ones - reinstalling drivers, different USB port, turning both off and on again (many times), uninstalling, reinstalling etc etc....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running one of the leaked 2.2 OTA Roms, everything has been working fine, except lately, as of a week or two ago, the phone won't mount as Disk Drive unless I reboot, and it wasn't a one time fix, I have to do this every time. I noticed that when I plug the phone into the computer, I don't get the message saying "Charge Only / HTC Sync / Disk Drive / Mobile Broadband Connect etc." And yes, I have it set to ask me every time, and I even set the default connection type to Disk Drive, and still I unplug it and plug it back in and nothing. I know it connected okay, the computer recognizes it as HTC Android device or whatever it calls it, and the orange light lights up on the phone showing that's it's charging, but in my computer all that pops up is a weird optical drive that I can't access.

I just bought the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Mini Pro. I have a problem with the memory stick. It says it's connected and everything, but it also says it's empty. Main point being; I can't get the memory stick to work. I use the default memory stick (2GB), the one that came with the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can format the card from the phone. I can save pictures to the card from the camera app. The phone sees the card properly. When I plug in the pc usb cable I select "disk drive" but the drive doesn't show up on the computer. Sometimes I see the drive (Drive G) pop up for a split second then disappear. Sometimes it never appears. I always get the "choose a connection type" message and select disk drive. The notification bar shows "USB DEBUGGING." I have tried it with USB debugging off or on. I have also installed HTC SYnc but that didn't help (and doesn't connect). Computer says "USB device not recognized." It always worked fine with my MyTouch 3G. There is nothing amiss in device manager.

Is there anything I am not seeing or has anybody else had the same problem?
i have to use tweezers to remove my memory card buried in the corner behind the battery am I missing something? I lift the red tab up then the memory card lifts up but I cant get to it with two fingers. Am i doing something wrong or is it just a design flaw?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis is my first Android device and my second SE phone.I have a question.
When i put application in the ''others'' folder of memory card, how do it access it on phone.
Yesterday I tried to install a custom ROM on my device (HTC Evo 3D GSM Europe) for the first time and it took close to 12 hours to get it from ICS 4.0.4 to ICS 4.0.3 (when my intention was actually JB 4.2). Let's just say that forgot to backup his Shipped ROM, then installed JB, was incompatible with the boot loader, tried desperately to find a compatible shipped RUU that worked with the CID, spent countless hours searching in xda-developers and then finally settled for a custom ICS ROM until some time in the future.
Now on to my problem. Prior to my Factory Reset, I had moved all applications to the SD card. A simple look-over in the file system indicates all the data is still there, but reinstalling the applications and even moving them back to the SD card doesn't seem to give them access to the prior data (saved games, stored profiles, lists and anything else I might have done). It's as if the app has been installed for the first time.
Is there any way to "link" the data back to the apps (after yesterday's endeavor I ended up with a rooted phone, at least)?
Subject says it all really. When you have the SD card mounted as a disk (usb to computer) you will revert back to the stock ringtones and alarms. Freaked me out at first since somebody called me while I had my phone in disk mode and the ringer wasn't one I was accustomed to.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a carrier phone right now, specifically, Smartfren Andromax-U LE. It's packing MSM8625Q (Quad-core Cortex-A5 1.2Ghz), 1GB RAM, 4GB Internal, 8MP camera, 4.5" IPS LCD (540x960, 240 dpi)
Here's what interesting to me, when I searching button combinations to bring me to recovery mode, I found a mode that is supposed to be qualcomm disk mode (Windows suddenly told me to format it, meh), and then I tried to plug it in ubuntu, and there's some disk showing up (including android root, FOTA partition, and many more).
So, I was thinking, can I backup the entire internal memory (all 4GB of it), and then restore it back (in case something's go wrong) with dd command?
i'm having trouble to boot my desire S..i tried to install some new roms, but something web wrong: usualy i had the following partitions:

now if i adb shell: parted /dev/block/mmcblck0 i becom the error: Can't have a partition outside the disk.my asumtion is that some rom flashing wrote somting were it shoudn't. if i format using fastboot, (i'm not sure if this is posible www_ omappedia.com/wiki/Android_eMMC_Booting ) i'm preaty sure i'm formating also x-load and bootloader.
When I connect the phone via USB, syncing works fine. The problem I have is when trying to add files to the memory card. When I try to access it via my PC i get the message "Please insert disk into drive f:......I've tried closing down sync, resetting phone, mounting the sd card, all with no success.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not have or use and SD card...only the internal memory. When I'm not connected to a PC it recognizes this. All of my ringtones and notifications are present.
When I connect to a PC, though, the phone seems to want to only use the SD memory. I can't see my custom tones, all applications want to use SD memory, and apps only want to download new info to a non-existent SD card.
Is there a way to change this behavior? It's driving me nuts. When I'm connected to my PC and my phone rings...it uses a default tone. The first time it happened I had no idea what the sound was.
I use an MHL adaptor to connect my Android device on a HDMI screen.
This is really great but it would be perfect if I could use my PC keyboard and PC mouse to control it.
I tried VNC servers and TeamViewer QuickSupport but the main problem is that I don't see the mouse pointer on my device so it's very difficult to use a mouse when you don't see the pointer ^^
Any way to remotely access an Android device from a computer and be able to see this mouse pointer on the device?
