I've been looking everywhere for the stock Evo keyboard. I flashed Myn's Warm 2.2 (awesome ROM), but I really would like the stock keyboard. Does anyone know where I can find this, or post a link?

I've recently flashed Myn's Warm RLS3 ROM and would like to use the Froyo keyboard vs the themed stock keyboard. How hard/in dept is the process to change colors on a keyboard? Are there any Froyo keyboard themes for download that I'm overlooking? I've tried Google with no success
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep going back and forth to swype/stock (can type so easily and fast on swype but just HATE tap typing names into it, and hate when the "new world reminder pops up".so for now back to stock for you guys who can touch type FAST...what settings do u use
1) vibration on/off (i think i like it on...but when i type faster than it pulses it gets distracting
2) what is UP with the "check spelling before prediction"...what in heck does this do and is it good on or off
Can you switch the Incredible back to a stock keyboard and not use HTC Sense?
View 12 Replies View Relatedim running miui and i use swype so i deleted the stock keyboard and now the language and keyboard part of the setting menu force closes and when i long press in a text box and i select input method no options come up and i tried reinstalling it which is HTc_IME.apk and then phone reboots, and as you might know MIUI can be a little unstable but still.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with the stock keyboard on my Eris. I don't really like the HTC keyboard so I installed the vanilla keyboard and switched defaults and whatnot. However, some apps (like "setup" for example) switch it back to the HTC keyboard and then I have to go back into HTC Sense and switch it and everything which is a pain. I know that the easy answer is "don't use those apps" though I really just want a permanent fix for it. Anyway to do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently rooted and am looking at getting rid of that irratating 'Choose input method' in the notification bar every time I type something.
I use Swype and the other options are Google Voice Typing (which I can untick) but Samsung Keyboard is greyed out, meaning that every time I type something I get the choice of Swype or Samsung Keyboard.
I've frozen the Samsung keyboard and now I don't get the notification and also Swype starts up quicker. Good so far. The thing is, I'm wondering if when I restart my phone my PIN lock screen uses the Samsung Keyboard, in which case I won't be able to enter my PIN. (I've disabled my PIN for the time being as I'm too scared to find out!)
I'm experiencing a problem with SwiftKey - the stock keyboard always shows up as the default after every boot, even though SwiftKey is enabled in settings. I read somewhere that a workaround is to freeze the stock keyboard using Titanium, and convert the SwiftKey app to a systems app. So my question is, how do I do that?

I know I can long-click on the correct entry in Titanium's App list to freeze an app, but specifically, what app name do I need to look for (is it Keyboard_english.apk?)
And how do I convert SwiftKey to a system app? I'm not even sure what this means. Do I just have to ensure it's located on internal storage (not SD card)?
I just noticed this today but cant figure out how it works. Right above the caps lock button and below the A is XT9 grayed out. Why is that there? I thought it might be a shortcut to that keyboard but cant figure it out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to search around but I'm not coming up with anything Is this possible to do?I miss being able to long-press a key to get its "shift" key (numbers, symbols, etc) instead of having to press the 123 key to switch layouts every time.I also liked how the "click" sound wasn't as loud as the typewriter-like sound on the non-Sense keyboard yes I like to have the sound and vibrate on - makes it feel like more of a button press instead of nothing I tried Swype before and still ended up going back to the HTC keyboard before I rooted. Are there any similar options? (or can I find the HTC keyboard apk anywhere??)

1. You cannot enable an autospace to be inserted after you choose an autocorrect word option.
2. I'm just not a fan of the long press on letters to access symbols/numbers.
Maybe I'm spoiled by the Droid but can you swap the text input to the standard keyboard?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a couple of bugs in the stock keyboard for the 2.1 leak: In portrait mode, if you overshoot the space bar, and press underneath it, it causes the keyboard to close. And in landscape mode, if you press the grey area to the right of the "L" key, it does the same. Now that I verbalize it, it seems more like the sensitivity areas for the home/menu/return/search keys may be a little larger than they were in 1.5, maybe even extending nearly into the keyboard. I notice myself getting kicked out of typing a lot more due to this than I did with 1.5. I've tried recalibrating but that doesn't seem to help.

Its not a big enough problem that id pay for "better keyboard" if its different there and I just switched to handcent so I don't have to go to more in the menu to get to the android smiles without typing them out all the way.

I updated to the rooted FroYo, and I'm not seeing the voice input button on the stock keyboard anymore, it's been replaced by a button that toggles between english and spanish. Is there another way to access it so I can text or email by speaking to my phone? Did everyone else have this happen with the stock ROM, or is this a root issue?

I found out how to add stuff to the stock android dictionary, but I added stuff I meant as just a test and now I don't know how to delete them.I posted this on xda but haven't gotten an answer yet. Was wondering if anybody here had some insight.Keep in mind this is the STOCK ANDROID keyboard I'm talking about, not swype. For this phone there is no "Language and Keyboard" setting, which is the answer I came across when I tried to google for an answer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone was working fine. No problems at all. But for some reason when I woke up this morning it started acting up. First, my phone would just freeze on me for awhile and then unfreeze like nothing happened. Second, my screen turned completely black twice for no apparent reason. And third, I can't even type using Swype or the stock keyboard anymore! It's either I can type but it won't show.. or I just can't type anything at all as if it's stuck.
