I can only get the default ring tone to work - and not the specific ring tones assigned for certain people (wife, mother, siblings, etc.) The default ring tone I have is the Mananamah (muppet song) and is located in the same folder "ringtones" as the other ones. WTH?

i just got my desire z the other day.ive assigned a couple of ringtones i downloaded to some contacts however when they ring its the default tone plays for all other contacts that plays.when i view that contact it says that the tone that should play is the one ive assigned.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have looked around for a fix but haven't found any yet.When I create trimmed ringtones via the htc trimmer and assign them to a contact, they will work fine until I reboot the phone. I tried some fixes like moving the ringtones to the SD card and that has allowed the phone to find them upon reboot but it will not put the tones back with the contacts. Is there a way to permanently stick the ringtone to the contact so they don't un-link after a reboot?

Just the default ringtone every time.Any ideas/thoughts? Doesn't seem to be a big enough issue to cause a stir yet, thus I haven't seen any helpful threads on the subject.

I have all of my ringtones in an folder on my sd card (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones). I have a custom ringtone set as default and other custom ringtones set for a few of my contacts. However, when I receive a call the phone will only occasionally play the correct ringtone. Most times it plays either the default ringtone, or the ringtone assigned to the last person that called (this last option being more common).
Just gotten my htc desire and trying to assign different ringtones for different contacts initially this looks easy as i follow direction then type in select contact and when i do put name in (as it is shown in my people app) then it does not recognize ANYONE!!! Can anyone help me please as this is driving me mad!

I did go to People -> click contact name that I want to change -> under Information tap, click Ringtone -> change ringtone -> After I pick custom ringtone -> Click OK button. Simple and Easy. But, when I test with another phone that I already assign ringtone, it doesn't work!
I thought that it didn't save it, but it was still pointing my custom ringtone. Well, second thought that my custom ringtone might be working, so I go to Setting -> Personalize -> change default ringtone for same MP3 file. it works! However, I couldn't make it for specific contact. Is there any thing that I did it wrong or should I turn on or off something?
Just picked up my incredible, and I have two questions....
1. how do i change the email notification to a specific sound? As of rite now, when i receive an email nothing happens (no sound or vibrate).
2. How do I select a specific ring for mms. I know how to select sms, but I cant figure out how to change the mms.
I have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

So, I love that I can link all my contacts to their Facebook profiles, but here's my issue. I have a different picture of my wife that I want to use as her caller ID. I added that picture to her contact, in "People" and it shows the small thumbnail on top when I go to "Edit Contact". I save after adding the pic and save again at the bottom of the edit screen, but it always shows her Facebook profile pic in the contact list and when she calls. The only way to get the other pic is to unlink her FB from the contact. Is it always going to do this as long as it's linked to FB, or is there a way to get the other pic assigned to her caller ID?

I have found a permssion called "READ_OWNER_DATA" but I don't seem able to find out a way of seeing what the permission allows you to do.
The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.

Right now my two main calendars are red for home and orange for work. I would like to adjust these so there is a little more contrast between these two entries. View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had a Droid X2 for about a year. My wife decided that she wanted to try a smart phone and liked my X2. So, I got a Galaxy Note II for myself and gave her the X2. On my Note II, Verizon assigned the phone number I had previously on my X2. Then, they assigned the phone number my wife had been using on her previous "dumb phone" to the X2. I didn't do a factory reset on the X2...we just assigned the new number. Well, everything's working fine except for one thing. Somehow, the X2 seems to know that it previously had the other phone number and if I call her or text her from my Note II, the call or text shows as coming from a contact called "Me" instead of my name. I've searched everywhere trying to get rid of "Me" but no luck.
