View 2 Replies View RelatedI can only get the default ring tone to work - and not the specific ring tones assigned for certain people (wife, mother, siblings, etc.) The default ring tone I have is the Mananamah (muppet song) and is located in the same folder "ringtones" as the other ones. WTH?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have looked around for a fix but haven't found any yet. When I create trimmed ringtones via the htc trimmer and assign them to a contact, they will work fine until I reboot the phone. I tried some fixes like moving the ringtones to the SD card and that has allowed the phone to find them upon reboot but it will not put the tones back with the contacts. Is there a way to permanently stick the ringtone to the contact so they don't un-link after a reboot?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the droid eris and I have tried MULTIPLE apps for ringtones and they either stop working, do not set or just suck (all scratchy). I went to verizon today thinking maybe something was wrong with my phone and they suggested that I use Zedge. I downloaded it don't like it much (hard to find what your looking for)
Anyways.. Does anyone know wtf is going on? Am I doing something wrong? (Tried assigning the ringtone/notification with the app and through settings)
Can I assign a specific ringtone to one contact? For example have the default for everyone and then another ringtone for just one contact?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI only have about 5 contacts with assigned ringtones (for the people who call me the most) and ANY incoming call from ANYONE now rings with the default ringer.Nothing works. Just the default ringtone every time.Any ideas/thoughts? Doesn't seem to be a big enough issue to cause a stir yet, thus I haven't seen any helpful threads on the subject.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having the problem where I have set custom ringtones for some of my contacts, but they are not always being played as they are assigned.
I have all of my ringtones in an folder on my sd card (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones). I have a custom ringtone set as default and other custom ringtones set for a few of my contacts. However, when I receive a call the phone will only occasionally play the correct ringtone. Most times it plays either the default ringtone, or the ringtone assigned to the last person that called (this last option being more common).
How do I get my custom ringtones from rooted media folder to show up in selection menus?
I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc
I downloaded some ringtones the other night using an app on my Evo. Only set up a few of them at the time to specific contacts. Went back in today and cannot find where they went to. Can anyone tell me where to look? New phone for me, (used to be a confirmed crackberry user and ready to go back, lol) still in the learning curve!
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I had a few ring tones that were set exactly how I wanted them for timing etc for my iphone. Well I have Mabilo ring tones installed and it works well. (After finding out about the .no media thing so they don't show up in my music player.) So what I did was convert my M4R to MP3. Then I went into Mabilo and downloaded the ring tones they had for the songs that I wanted. I then copied the file name and overwrote the name for my version of the mp3 and then copied it into the mabilo folder. And voila, my ring tones are there. No need to edit and crop all over again etc on the phone. Hope this is useful for someone out there. And with my luck someone will say oh just use "X" app and it is much better. But being the android nub I am and wanting to contribute to this forum this is my first shot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having some trouble with my g1. At first, I was able to set ringtones for when people call me but I tried to do something on my memory card so that I could get ringtones as my text message alert so I put everything under "notifications" "alarms". Then I realized there was no ringtones anymore. Okay so now the only way I can set a ringtone is through the music player thing. I've reformatted my whole memory card thinking that would help but it didnt.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a ringtone app that I like that lets me make ringtones on my computer & send 'em to my Droid as a MMS.
The making/sending part works but I can't figure out how to save the ringtone to my phone. Have searched the manual but it doesn't help.
Anybody know what to do to save a MMS?
I have a few ringtones that were recorded on my Treo that I would love to pull onto the G1. I found the PDB files. Anybody know how I can convert them to on a PC? I tried changing file extensions and opening with Audacity, but with no luck.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using the stock music player to trim songs and then set them as my ringtone, however every time I mount my SD card the ringtone reverts back to stock and I have to reset it. Is there a way/app that can let me trim a song, store the trim on the phone (not SD card) and then use it as a ringtone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my music player I can set which folders it looks in for music. But since I added music to my phone all the songs shows up as ringtones which makes it very hard to pick one since I have a large SD card with a lot of music on it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI tell you, I love this phone but I hate it. Compared to a Windows Mobile device where everything is as simple as dragging and dropping into folders, this phone gives me such headaches with its overly simplistic (and limited) processes. threads on making your own mp3 ringtone, I've got a kick-ass sampling from The Church's "Under the Milky Way" (you know the part. The synth bagpipe bridge). BUT I can only save it to the storage card. Which isn't a problem except until I get some spare cash, I can't quite swing a 16gb yet. Lots of little 512mb (don't laugh!) cards that I swap frequently (and I'd like a little sit-down with the person who designed the card slot cover to only be opened by gerbil paws). Is there a way to save my custom ringtone directly to the phone? Or will I have to stick it on every card until that glorious payday when I can get a 16gb?
