HTC EVO 4G :: How To Configure Ubuntu To Work?

I have tried searching but did not find anything that would help me. I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop to try it out and start learning. I have been using easy tether with my vista with great success. Not sure how to configure Ubuntu to work. I downloaded and installed the i386 package in Ubuntu can't seem to figure out what else to do. Normally I would look for the running program in the bottom right corner and right click and select automatically connect when plugged into usb. However, I don't see easy tether application anywhere, just when I re-run the .deb package, it tells me it is already installed.

Is it possible to configure all layouts of an Android app to support BOTH landscape and portrait mode so that the app will work both when phone is held vertically and horizontally. From my brief reading, it seems not. Am I right?

I just switched from Ubuntu 8.10 to Ubuntu 9.04 and noticed that Eclipse Content Assist isn't working anymore. I tried the following variations on Ubuntu 9.04: Eclipse 3.4.2 or 3.5 (cleaned / reinstalled) with ADT 0.93 and Android SDK 1.5r3 Using Sun Java 1.6. No combination works. I've reinstalled everything a bunch of times. I have another machine with Ubuntu 8.10 and Eclipse 3.4.2 with ADT 0.91 or 0.93 and Code Assist works for all those. I just refuse to develop without code-assist and I know lot of people would agree with me on that.

Just installed 4.4 from the Market. How do you set this thing up? I see that when I hit home I have the option of using it, but I don't see how to actually get into any settings or configuration interface (to choose the number of home screens, etc.)

Google Calendar View: Any way to configure a 9AM to 5PM view? Just converted a load of contacts from phone to Google, and now working on same for calendar. Am trying to move calendar from Yahoo to Google, but Google gives screwy daily 24 Hr. view. Would like a more practical 9-5 view. Any way to change this in Gogol?

I recently bought a HTC Desire.(was a loyal nokia fan till now ) . It was difficult to get used to the android version of the calendar app, which syncs with google calendar etc etc.. But my question is - is it possible to create a calendar event - like in symbian OS , where you can choose - Event , Anniversary , Task (To Do) . Issue is , I have a lot of Bday reminders, and they are not exactly "ALL DAY events" and neither do i need a reminder set for that. I prefer the symbian way where its displayed on ur home screen - on that particular day for the entire day. Is such a setting (may be using another app) possible in Android ?

Basically what I want to do is customize an Android device so that it boots up and runs one application only, and for that application to be switched to the front of the screen automatically. Also, when it gets closed, to be started up and switched to again. Any ideas?

Yeah. For some reason the Email application on my X wont configure my school email. I don't know if this has something to do with the ".edu"? I Bought the PIPO M9 PRO tablet with android 4.2.2 operating system.When I started to work with the device I noticed that I can't configure the vibration feature.Usually you turn on the feature in: setting �sound-vibrate on touch, But in this device the line is missing.Could it be that this device doesn't have this feature at all?
